[Kavinsky's white framed sunglasses covered his eyes, for no other reason right now than he felt like wearing them. They'd been the only thing to arrive with him, clothes aside, and though he would've preferred not to be here at all, having his sunglasses was better than nothing.]

S'up. So, I'm getting the impression there's not a big party scene here. Fair enough. Also fucking boring.

What do people actually do for fun? I think I'll lose my mind if all I've got to occupy me's fixing up a place to live.

[Fixing up his living area was good for a while, but it wouldn't last. Eventually, he'd run out of things to fix or clean or make. Probably not today, or tomorrow, or the day after that, but it would happen.]

Also, gotta say I'm a little disappointed. I get abducted by aliens [More or less.] and there's not even any UFOs?

"Maybe. Or they could be the type who never learn," Knuckles says.

"Yeah, there's definitely people like that. They think consequences don't apply to them and shit."

"That sounds like the guy we usually deal with," Knuckles says in annoyance.

"I'm not surprised. Sorry he's a pain in your ass."

"And being here isn't even an escape from him," Knuckles growls. "He's here too!"

"Well..." Kavinsky paused thoughtfully. "At least it's harder for him to do shit here? I mean, just assuming. Like, he can't conquer this world. There isn't even a whole lot to conquer."

Knuckles smirks a bit. "That's definitely a bright spot. But I wonder how long it'll be before he figures out some way to cause chaos. Or to escape and leave us here."

"Chaos isn't always bad. But ditching the rest of us would be a real dick move. But I sort of get the impression he's a dick, anyway."

"... Yeah, sometimes chaos can be used for good." Like the Chaos Emeralds, and their controller, the Master Emerald, that he guards. "Not when he's causing it, though. And that's one way to put it. I'm sure he'll leave us all if he figures out how."

"Yeah, exactly. And after everything you've told me, I wouldn't be surprised if he did. Just means we can't rely on him, which I hadn't been planning on doing, anyway."

Knuckles hates how many times Eggman has tricked him, but he's not going to bring that up.

"The problem is, he's the only one who really might figure it out," he says grudgingly.

"Hmm. Well. If he does figure it out and we find out before he fucks off, we could torture the information out of him." It was wholly unclear whether he was joking or not.

And Knuckles, being gullible, especially isn't sure. "Huh?!"

"Or threaten him. Usually, the threat of violence is enough to make most people talk. Nobody actually wants to get hurt. Usually."

"Heh. This guy just laughs if you try to threaten him," Knuckles says. "He always thinks he's more powerful."

"So like...is he just a guy? Does he have any super powers or whatever?" He was pretty well acquainted with people who didn't take threats seriously, but everyone had a breaking point.

"He thinks being a genius is his superpower," Knuckles says. "He builds tons of robots and other devices to protect himself."

"Sounds like a comic book supervillain. Not to discredit being a genius, but. You know." Kavinsky shrugged. "I imagine if we took all that shit away from him, the robots and stuff, he might feel more open to conversation. Or, if that doesn't work, it is absolutely possible to make anyone quake in their boots."

Knuckles is a bit unsettled again. "... And how's that?" he asks suspiciously.

Kavinsky shrugged. "Depends on the person. Look man, I usually deal with teenagers. It's shockingly easy to make a dude cooperate when you've got a little dirt on 'im." He paused for a moment. "I'm not like, a psychopath or anything- I don't go around hurting people." That was his father's thing. From whom he'd picked up more than he would've liked.

"... Dirt?" Knuckles tries to work that out in his mind. "You blackmail them? Or your father did?"

"Sometimes, yeah. I did say I'm not a saint. But I'm not like, ruining anyone's life. I'm not that much of an asshole. And we don't talk about my father. He's a bastard."

"So you just do it to people who are being bullies?" Knuckles says.

He frowns a bit. "Well, you brought him up."

[burnyoudown]

"Pretty much. I'm not going to dangle it over someone's head forever, either. You know, we reach an agreement, I get whatever I want, everyone's happy." Well, mostly.

"Yeah, I do that sometimes. But usually people don't want to hear me go on about I hope he rots in hell." Kavinsky shrugged.

Knuckles grunts. "He must be a real creep."
