Attention! This is Dr. Ivo Robotnik speaking and, as I assume I'm not the only one stranded on this wretched world, I am opening up communications for some proper answers. It appears my abductors can't be reached at the moment and I've already spent enough time familiarizing myself with what little information that is available.

If you have received this transmission, make yourselves known. Rest assured, if there is a way off of this world, then I will be the one to find it!

Well there are shovels and hammers. I'm lucky I've got a drill and a saw because I'm pretty sure they don't have those in stock. But when it comes to tools in general, as someone who's had to improvise for many things, I know it at least isn't impossible, at least. I might even be willing to lend some out, provided they come back to me in the same condition.

[He holds up a finger. No, not flipping the Egg off, it's just... Well it's difficult when you only have three digits but work with him here!]

-ah, as for the communicator, you might not get very far without another data point.

See, this place has some very annoyingly specific learning curves that for whatever reason can't be absorbed the usual way, and unlike the initial data point with the welcome brochure, these other ones are very subject specific and overwrite information if you touch more than one.

Forcibly overwriting information already committed to memory? That's...alarmingly devious and wholly impractical.

Interesting. Tell me, has anyone attempted to download any of the information in the aforementioned data points to a localized drive such as this communicator?

I know, right?? I completely agree! Not to mention concerning that something can just instantaneously extract such specific information from your head as easily as it uploaded it.

[His mind is precious! He does not like the idea of some external force tampering with it somehow!]

Hm. Not that I am aware of, but there isn't much other way to access the information aside from tactile means. Given the very obvious absence of a written language of any kind, it might very well be that this particular technology is specifically designed for wetware over hardware.

Well, then...in that case, perhaps a suitable adapter can be constructed.

Then it shall be my first order of business! Once I secure myself a place to work and some tools, I'll have to take a better look at these other data points to properly assess their function.

True, no real method of transportation within the city. Not to mention the shuttles have been taken away for maintenance of some kind, and now the hangar's hidden behind some kind of shielding.

Why thank you for noticing. As to your question, I am completely self-taught and have dabbled in my fair share of robotics. Unfortunately I don't have much by way of examples here, and the battle shell I've managed to build here doesn't employ as much as some of my other models.

Is that your area of expertise then?

Yes, it's my preferred method of transportation that isn't my Egg Carrier. It's an all-purpose hovercraft of my own design that allows me comfort, maneuverability, and protection. Over the years I've gone through quite a number of them and each one is fully compatible with a wide, personally designed arsenal of weapons.

I see...! So you've experience in personal armaments and custom engineering! I think we'll get along quite well, Donatello! After all, only true genius can appreciate true genius~! You'll have to show me more! I'd be most interested in seeing some of your designs!

Robotics is my one true passion, yes. Though I've dabbled in other forms of engineering as well as other arenas of study. Why, I've even tried my hand at virology.

As long as I can build and tinker I'm quite content.

O...kay so it's branding. [Answers to unspoken questions. ...no, not really, all he's getting are more questions. These at least aren't annoying like the ones that come up regarding the city, at least. Anyway, maybe the reasons for the egg-theme aren't that important.]

You have your own hovercraft? Oh that sounds amazing. I don't think I'd be able to get away with something like that in New York, but I did make a tank.

Well said, my good doctor! Unfortunately a lot of what I have here are mostly designs or in-between states as of yet, but I'd be happy to show you.

Personally I'd love to have my phone access to a network beyond the local one for true contentment but at least with no shortage of things to work on, it's hard to get bored. [Easier to get frustrated, sure.]

The hangar- it's located in the northeastern corner of the city. Or it would usually be. Right now the roads lead to seemingly nothing because the shield reflects its surroundings. Honestly I've had enough of shields, I've been seeing too many of late and I can't even get a proper scan from them.

A tank you say! Quite ambitious! I've built several myself! I prefer to pilot, however. I personally enjoy building and customizing giant robots. I have several designs in my own hangar back home!

Nothing wrong with designs, Donatello. The grander the better, I always say. I'd be more than happy to see what you've worked on when you're ready.

Oh I've always dreamed about building a giant robot! No one's been particularly supportive in my wanting to obtain uranium however.

I've suggested a separate network to someone who has the communication data point- which apparently you need to be able to do any codework with these devices. Not sure how that's gone, but there's always room for improvement. Anyway, I'd be up for giving it a good look some time.

Nope. Nothing obvious, and if it's underground, I'm not sure how deep or if it's coming from inside. It could even be externally projected for all we know, this place likes breaking rules.

Yes, there's that pesky problem of having acquired knowledge forcibly over-written. I'll have to experience the phenomenon first-hand before I can start to brainstorm potential solutions.

Underground is possible but so is orbital. Though, the signal would have to be powerful enough to avoid interference from the energy storms that ravaged the planet. It would be daunting if it wasn't so intriguing! Rules exist to be bent and shaped by those with vision after all! Rule of law, rules of nature! None of it is ironclad as long as there is ambition!

Well look at it this way, at least you missed the volcanic eruption so you're starting fresh! And anything that hasn't collapsed from everything that came with that ordeal will likely be quite sturdy.

Orbital has been a possibility I've considered. There's a lot of potential out there and it's even more convenient for whoever's making use of such means because we're limited to things planet-side.
