There are bags. There is a large box. There are a few stacks of things. And the room is... Sufficient? Tae sighs and taps her foot as she considers the room that she had found, trying to figure out how she was going to do all of this.II. A Low Down Problem
"The times when I could use the puppy for help," she sighs as she considers the mess that will soon be a temporary clinic.
Maybe she was getting used to having magic around. It was useful for some things. For now though she sighs, shrugs off her lab coat, appreciates herself for the chose of leggings and flats today, and moves to the nearest bag. Until she hears nearby footsteps.
"Hey!" she calls out. "A quarter of my food rations for tonight if you're willing to come in here and be extra hands for a bit."
Unless they're injured of course. She wasn't going to put injured people to work. She's flip gears immediately into assistance mode then.
It was getting predictable, how frustrating life on this waste of a planet was. Nothing can go right for a week, can it? The world is literally allergic to it or something. It's like they're a damn medical drama. And not the good kind where people are dealing with serious medical cases and emergencies. The ones where doctors have long lost twin siblings who are evil.III. An Apple A Day Does Shit, Workouts Though...
"You're getting overly dramatic," Tae reminds herself from where she had fallen when, of course, the heel on one of her high heels had broken, leading to this graceless little tumble on the floor.
Not that it was hard to justify being dramatic when they were hiding underground from a volcano and might never escape.
"And that's just panic," she reminds herself. "Which is reasonable but not needed."
It got nothing done. Not even getting the stupid damaged shoe off her foot.
Another morning in their shelter, and honestly, Tae's getting tired of it. Quite tired. Can someone become exceedingly tired? She thinks it's likely and rather possible given her mood at the moment. Two months out of three trapped underground would do that to anyone.
"Seasonal affective disorder, in a whole new light," she mumbles to herself before pushing to her feet and walking out of her little clinic slash sleeping space.
"Alright," she says, speaking up so her voice carries across the central mushroom-provided square. "Enough of this. Good morning everyone!"
She hopes. Hard to tell down here and she's not got her comm on her at the moment. And as for 'everyone', she really just means 'anyone who can hear me'.
"We need to get active. Morning yoga lesson, free. Get over here."
This was going to go poorly, wasn't it?

But they must make do, and some seem to be doing so more than others. Hearing someone call out, Felwinter continues forward.
"I do not mind being of assistance," he says. "But your share of rations will be unnecessary."
no subject
"Offering to be my hero again? Don't worry, I brought sensible footwear this time."
She gestures for him to join her.
"I just... I need things out of the boxes. Maybe around the walls? It's the best I can do for organizing for now."
no subject
"Very well," Felwinter says as he looks around. Not an impossible nor troubling task, at least, and it keeps him busy for now. Nodding, he turns to the nearest box to begin removing its contents.
no subject
"Thank you. Do you mind if we talk while we work?"
Some people weren't fans of that.

Tony mentioned something called Exos, and now she's got questions.
"Would that be alright?"
no subject
"I suppose," Felwinter says after a moment.
no subject
"Tony seemed to imply you are something called an 'Exo' and thus much of you is... metallic."
And light.
no subject
"That would be correct," he says, as he looks at her with his molten amber gaze. "Which is why I will not require any rations, as compensation or otherwise."
no subject
"So you're completely non-biological people, like androids such as York?" she says, shocked. She hadn't been prepared for that. "I thought you were just a man with an armor kink!"
no subject
"I don't think I follow..."
no subject
"I keep running into things that just seemed impossible a few months ago. I'm sorry for asking, I understand it's rather forward of me."
But damn, she's got so much more curiosity about him than about androids like York.
"Nevermind on that whole not following thing."
Wow that was probably something she shouldn't talk about with someone who is probably asexual.
no subject
He shrugs at the dismissal, placing his next armload of things from the box to the side.

Markus says with an air of determination while, funnily enough, one of the "extra hands" that Dr Takemi needs falls off. He reattaches it immediately.
"Do we have some thirium? It will help me power up."
He is not built to be a nurse, but he's capable of doing some scanning. It has surely helped with handling Carl, back in the day.
no subject
Consider her eyes wide.
"You're like York," she says, shocked.
no subject
Quintet was definitely right in detecting a habit of constant attempts to placate. Markus figured that the deviancy would slowly make it disappear overtime, and yet he feels it stronger with every passing day. He's a bit ashamed of it, because he hasn't realized how much of a human trait that is. Then again, he enjoys passing as human a bit too much. That one time that man bumped into him and apologized because he didn't see the LED? That would look like nothing to someone else, but for Markus it meant the world.
York on the other hand seems to be proud of being an android and would be very much disgusted to be mistaken for a human. That's an interesting difference for sure, makes Markus wonder whether that is how he too is supposed to feel. He is not just any deviant, he is the leader and has to speak for everyone.
"York...Did you see him? Is he alright?"
no subject
"I'm a physician. I don't tend to attack people. And, honestly, people are people, so I really don't have an issue with what you are. It would be useful for you to understand that."
As for York, she nods. "I've seen him around. Not today, but he's been down here. No doubt he's found himself a quiet corner to be in, as he is not the most social."
no subject
"Well, I don't want to leave him alone."
Markus would probably feel responsible even if he wasn't the leader. York is in a teenage body and as such he's programmed to act like a teenager. It's not news that androids are protective of child models, just look at everything that Kara did to ensure a future for Alice.
"There is also another android, Connor. He..."
How do you describe Connor without saying that he's less deviant than the others or more overtly robotic?
"He has brown hair and brown eyes, white skin, and..."
He realizes that that doesn't exactly restrict the circle of options, so just grabs a piece of paper and draws him.
"He looks like this. And he worked for the police."
no subject
"Never met him, I'm sorry. Nothing I can do to help you with him. Or with your arm unfortunately. There aren't a lot of specialists here to help."
no subject
Maybe he should focus on what he can do here instead of running around.
"What can I do for you?"
no subject
"I'm trying to unpacks so I can set up the clinic here," she answers. "That would be something I could stand to have some assistance with. If you're willing."
no subject
Markus quickly scans the boxes to understand the contents and models.
"This is all you have, I'm assuming?"
It's not like they can go out in the middle of an eruption to look for more materials.
no subject
no subject
"What do you think of these arrangements?"
He can still be so servile, despite everything. But no, he's not a slave now. He's helping because he's choosing to...Though is it really a choice in a case of emergency?
no subject
"This second one seems perfect. Thank you. It would take me days to mentally process through options. Hopefully I can repay you for it."
