It's official...

Freedom At Last - The Diner - Right after calibrations

Words cannot even begin to describe how happy Peter is to be free of memory cave hell. Not that he's not super thrilled about reliving all his worst memories, clumsily stumbling through other people's memories and his favorite part, being confined to the same place for a whole month. Needless to say, he more than happy to he out of there and back in the sun.

However, he can't help notice something feels... wrong. Maybe it just because he'd been in memory hell for so long his senses need to adapt again? That's probably it. Unsure where he should go first, he decides on the Diner to see if he can find Tommy or if there's any food available.

Turns out, his appetite isn't awesome thanks to the feeling that something is Not. Right. And it occasionally feels like his skin is crawling for no discernable reason. It has him feeling antsy and like he wants to jump out of his skin.

The sound of the diner door opening freaks him out just enough he he very suddenly, finds himself up on the ceiling, causing the chair he was sitting in to topple over. "Holy shit. Don't. Do that." He insists.

Radley jumps a mile too. It's not every day that he sees a human leap onto the ceiling.

"What the ... ?!"

But then his eyes light up. "You're back! Is everyone back?!"

Oh, it's just a person. How embarrassing. He's usually pretty jittery but not this jumpy. He lets go of the ceiling and lands back on the ground with ease, still feeling a little nervous.

"Um.. yeah? I think so? They opened the doors so I think everyone's out of memory cave hell." He says flippantly and glances around uneasily. There doesn't seem to be aby immediate danger.

Radley frowns at that description. "It must have been awful. Lark told me what she knew, and I tried to find you guys, but I couldn't. I guess if I had, they probably would have just taken me prisoner too?"

One of these days Sonic will learn how to open a door like a normal person and not swing them open as fast as he can like an asshole. Today is not that day.

He's torn between being pumped to see that everyone seems to be finally coming back, and being absolutely baffled by the way Peter is sticking to the ceiling like some kinda bigass gecko. It's not the weirdest thing Sonic's ever seen, but it's up there.

Sonic stares for a moment, before slowly backing out the door and closing it gently behind him. After a couple seconds he tries again, only this time it's a lot slower in kind of an awkward way? Everything about this is awkward.

"Uh. Sorry about that. What's with the, uh..."

He motions vaguely at the ceiling.

Listen, there's a lot of reason the door opening should freak him out. Part of it is because there's also that rush of air and now clattering at the counter the same second the door opens.

Gotta love having speedsters around.

"Do what?" he asks, looking up toward Peter. "Be me? I can't change how amazing I am, Spidey. What's got you so jumpy today?"

"Probably." Peter shrugs. He doesn't pretend to understand the Agrii's logic on that one. Really, the less often he has to relieve his worst memories that happier he'll be. At least until he has to live through yet another emotionally scarring thing.

"They really like for us to know each other. Honestly though, while I'm cool with meeting new people normally there are just some things people should have the right to keep to themselves and not have a complete stranger learn all about."

Excuse you, Sonic, he's a bigass spider. Seeing there is no obvious signs of danger, Peter lets himself back down, bending his knees as he lands in a half crouch before standing back up again.

"I just.. feel weird today." Peter admits. "Like something's wrong so it has me kinda.. on edge." He glances up at the ceiling. "I was hoping to find Tommy but I probably shoulda just called him." Stupid spider-senses, making him panic like that.

Was that what has his senses so upset? Tommy moving at breakneck speeds? Sure he gets a little tingle here and there but it's never been this bad. It doesn't seem to be going away though so it's probably not Tommy.

"Going forward, I've decided to identify as a jumping spider." Peter says nonchalantly as he releases the ceiling and lands back on the ground. "I don't know man, something feels... off. Like there's something I really need to know about but I have no idea what it is. Everything seems normal-it's just fu-uh-reaking hot outside."

Wow it only breaks the necks of everyone but him. And Sonic. And Wesker. And he's more likely to pulverize people. But yeah, moving on.

"Alright, I'll put that down on your card or something," he answers as he goes straight into chopping behind the counter.

Wait. Something was off? Tommy looks at Peter, concerned.

"The Spidey-Sense is tingling? Shit."

"Uh... yeah. Basically." Peter agrees. "Ever since we got out it's just been.. like a constant buzz and since I don't know what's causing it - it's making me feel a lot more... antsy." He explains. Is it something to be concerned about? So far, not really but he can't say for certain.

"But it could be anything-it's probably nothing to worry about. It could just be a bug or something." No need to panic other people if he doesn't even know if there is a reason to panic.

"Yeah, no kidding," Radley frowns. He'd already had to reveal some of his darker secrets when that spectre had showed up in the hotel. That had been more than enough.

"... So, can I get you something to eat?"

"Yeah, I don't think he's up there!"

Sonic points dramatically at the ceiling. Bro humans don't belong there????

"Is the ceiling thing part of the feeling weird, or is the ceiling thing like, it's own thing?"

"Sure." Peter nods, though having been away he's not too sure what's on today's menu. "Anything high in calories is good." He says as he right the chair he'd accidentally toppled over and takes a seat again.

"Any idea where Tommy is? I was kinda looking for him." Fellow superheroes, and what not.

"Huh? uh.. kinda both?" Peter responds at he adjusts the thick band on his wrist that usually houses his webfluid. "Part of my powers is I get this super helpful pre-cognitive thing that tells me when there's danger-but it doesn't always work right and most of the time I don't even know why it's going off-it's kind like... you know when you fall asleep and your alarm clock goes off but you don't actually wake up so it's just this noise you hear over and over in the dream but you can't turn it off?" He explains.

"Anyways-when it happens my first instinct is usually to jump up and stick on the ceiling."

"Sure thing." Radley heads for the kitchen but pauses. "You're the first one I've seen back. Maybe Tommy's at the greenhouse?"

"The ol' 'stick to the ceiling' strategy, of course. Nobody would see that coming." Well. Pete's treating this like it's the most normal thing ever, so okay, Sonic can roll with this.

"So some kind of a warning alarm, but in your head? Sure, I can get behind that. How much danger are we talking? Will it go off if it's something small, like if a bee's about to sting you? Or does it usually have to be something big?"

"Maybe." Peter shrugs. "He moves so fast he could also be on the other side of town by now-or all the way in Sh'ka." He pauses. "...Can you walk there? Probably not, right? But it's not like he walks anyway."

"Yeah, Aunt May gets mad at me for getting footprints on the ceiling." Which, is fair but he did promise to clean it when it happened again. Not that it matters out here. There's lot more than foot prints on the ceiling out here.

"And it depends? Like I said, there are times I don't know why it's going off, just that it is. Something small feels more like prickle and the bigger stuff can make my whole body feel like it's vibrating in side." It's very annoying and he does not recommend it. "Right now I can't tell if it's something big or not. Which is kinda a problem."

"As far as I know, you have to take the train," Radley says. He goes in the kitchen and soon returns with food. "Here you go!"

"That sounds like a real pain. Apart from you guys all disappearing and then finally coming back, I haven't really noticed anything out of place. Then again, I don't really have a good baseline for what counts as normal here."

Ugh man, this is one of those situations where he really wants to help but has no idea how. This is his least favorite thing. "I can take a quick jog around and tell you if I find anything?"

"Shit," Tommy said again, and then he was walking at a reasonable pace to Peter's side. "Maybe we should, like, go around. See where it's worse."

Because he has a lot of respect for Spidey-Sense.

"From what I understand, you should trust it. If it says something is wrong, it's wrong. That's part of your superpowers, and I don't think they're likely to go on the fritz."

"I don't know that that's gonna help. It's... I don't know how to describe it but... " He shakes his head because while the spidey-sense is something he meant to tell Tony about the reason reason he was hoping to find him here.

"Anyway! I wanted to make sure you knew-I'm pretty sure we have another psychopath in our midst. Which could be related to the spider-sense thing-dude did threaten me with a mint injection. Which, if he thinks I'm gonna let him anywhere near me with a needle he's crazy-well, he is obviously crazy but that's not important. I mean it is important it's just not the point. Anyways, I don't think that's what it is? It's more like... well, like I said-something's off. Not like danger just... off"

"That's fair." Peter shrugs nonchalantly. "Count yourself lucky you avoided the bullshit memory share slumber party because it was not fun and I don't think I'll be going back next year. Not that I had a choice." He's pretty sure he will be going back again next year and he's gonna spend a month wanting to rip his hair out.

"Nah, if there is any danger, I don't want you putting yourself at risk. If it's something to be worried about I'll know soon enough. But it is one of the reasons I was looking for Tommy.

"Sweet! Thanks!" Peter says happily before starting to dig in to whatever is on today's menu.

"But he can like run past everything so... maybe he doesn't need it? I'll ask him when I see him. If you see him, can you tell him I'm looking for hi-..." Peter pauses and then pulls the communicator out.

...

"Never mind, I can probably just call him after lunch."

Radley smiles, then looks amused. "Yeah, might as well call him if he doesn't come in before you're done."
