It's official...
WHO: Peter Parker and probably you
WHERE: the diner
WHAT: Peter's having a rough time
WHEN: Jul 10th
WARNINGS:
Freedom At Last - The Diner - Right after calibrations
Words cannot even begin to describe how happy Peter is to be free of memory cave hell. Not that he's not super thrilled about reliving all his worst memories, clumsily stumbling through other people's memories and his favorite part, being confined to the same place for a whole month. Needless to say, he more than happy to he out of there and back in the sun.
However, he can't help notice something feels... wrong. Maybe it just because he'd been in memory hell for so long his senses need to adapt again? That's probably it. Unsure where he should go first, he decides on the Diner to see if he can find Tommy or if there's any food available.
Turns out, his appetite isn't awesome thanks to the feeling that something is Not. Right. And it occasionally feels like his skin is crawling for no discernable reason. It has him feeling antsy and like he wants to jump out of his skin.
The sound of the diner door opening freaks him out just enough he he very suddenly, finds himself up on the ceiling, causing the chair he was sitting in to topple over. "Holy shit. Don't. Do that." He insists.

Because he has a lot of respect for Spidey-Sense.
"From what I understand, you should trust it. If it says something is wrong, it's wrong. That's part of your superpowers, and I don't think they're likely to go on the fritz."
no subject
"Anyway! I wanted to make sure you knew-I'm pretty sure we have another psychopath in our midst. Which could be related to the spider-sense thing-dude did threaten me with a mint injection. Which, if he thinks I'm gonna let him anywhere near me with a needle he's crazy-well, he is obviously crazy but that's not important. I mean it is important it's just not the point. Anyways, I don't think that's what it is? It's more like... well, like I said-something's off. Not like danger just... off"
no subject
Though as he scoops greens into a large bowl he does listen to Peter, and he pauses. Dude threatened to inject Peter with mint? Why would... Ah, pest control. Geez. Who around here would be so crazy as to-
"Wesker," Tommy sighs. "Dude's fucked up. Just avoid him, Peter. And let Tony know too. Monitoring Wesker the best we can is our own real choice until he does something actually bad. Then I'll see if I can't round up Sonic and maybe Jon to help pin the guy down until we can find a jail that would hold him."
Because he figures that day will come.
no subject
"Yeah, I'll say he's fucked up-He threatened to kill me if I touched anything in his dream space-as if I had intentionally gone in there. And then he asks me questions- he asked for a blood sample and when I turned him down he was a total dick about the fact I don't like needles... which is probably why he threatened an injection." Peter realizes.
"I dont-I just-what if he hurts someone? I'm pretty sure he already has but murder in dreamscape I don't think is really a punishable offense."
no subject
Blood sample? Tommy's bristling. Last person that wanted to experiment on people Tommy cared about here he had threatened.
How do you threaten Wesker?
"We'll ask Tony for monitoring?"
no subject
"Good idea, I guess that's the best we can do for now. As much as I hate to admit it, it's probably not a good idea for me to try and keep tabs." Stupid mint allergy. "but also if he does try to hurt someone, I have do something."
no subject
"Yeah, probably not. But if he does try something, you better promise to call me, alright? And Tony. And Billy. We're Avengers. We stick together."
no subject
"Right." Peter nods automatically. "But is there something I should know? I mean I know he's crazy-fast but you're still faster, right?"
no subject
"Of course," Tommy says just as automatically. Because he's terrified of literally any other answer. What if there is a moment when the answer is no? The way the dude moves, the confidence in the face of Tommy's own displays of speed and his explosive powers...
There's a part of Tommy that remains scared that if it ever came to trading blows with Wesker, Tommy's ass will be the one that is grass. It was never necessary, as a speedster, to learn how to actually fight. That had always been what he'd believed.
no subject
He can still tell something is wrong though. However, that could also just be his spider-sense pissed off about.. whatever it's pissed off about.
"You're gonna hold yourself to that same standard, right? We're a team so if anything happens you call me and Tony and your brother, right? Like you said, We're Avengers. We stick together." And something tells him if it does come to a fight against Wesker they're gonna need a lot more than webs and super-strength.
no subject
"Of course I am," Tommy promises, rolling his eyes. He doesn't point out that back home Avengers never call on him but they sure as do on Tony and Peter and Billy.
Someone definitely came out of Calibrations with self-worth issues in a bad way. And being reminded of Wesker didn't help with any of them.
"No offense, I'll probably call B first. Like... Magic. Guy's got a special sort of edge. But you'll definitely be there."
Because he knows just how effectively trip lines work on fast people. Knows better than most.
no subject
"Anyway, I guess I should text Mr Stark. Or-" Peter shakes his head as he realizes he did it again. "-Tony. Let him know what's going on."
no subject
"Dude," he says, shaking his head, "if there is probably one universal constant, it's that May Parker will never regret a single moment wasted on you. Met that lady once, by accident. A little dust up with the current Electro, not important really. But damn, she couldn't stop talking about her nephew Peter. So I doubt they would think of it that way."
Whereas Tommy's parents had point blank called him a financial drain. Start a club about it apparently.
"See, if I were you, I'd talk to him face to face. Hard to read Stark by text. Easy to make things sound worse than they are. Don't be my degree of fuck up around him, okay?"
no subject
"I know. And Uncle Ben would hate that I would even think that but... god I was in the ER a lot. It's hard not to wonder about-If I didn't-if I wasn't sick all the time would we be better off?"
It's not like anyone can really answer that question so it does not good to think about it. If he does then he might start to wonder if maybe, if they were better off they would have been living in that same rental house and if they weren't then would Ben still have died in a home invasion? Best not to dwell on it.
"I'll do that. Yeah." He means talk to Tony. Advise he'll immediately forget and end up texting Tony anyway.

Because Tommy's seen another Peter, and he knows, sorta. He has an answer. Does Peter really want it? Maybe Tommy doesn't know how Ben Parker died, but he knows enough, things Spidey's said that have made it pretty clear he's a guy that was just working to get by.
"Alright. Just be smart. Tony's a great guy, and he'll go out on a limb for you."
Even if you don't deserve it. Most people don't deserve how intensely nice Tony can be when he's trying.
no subject
"I'm gonna go find Tony. See ya later." Peter decides as he heads out the door.
