Ash's Room
WHO: Ash, Pikachu and you!
WHERE: Ash's room - sorta
WHAT: Calibrations
WHEN: June-July 10th
WARNINGS: Oh you know, child death, violence, child endangerment...
The door to Ash's room leads into, well, Ash's room almost exactly as it is laid out back home. It looks mostly like a ten year old's room should except it's far too clean and it gives the feeling like the owner of this room is away from it for long periods at a time.
The Dresser is adorned with various trophies, certificates and awards. The diploma he received for completing Professor Rowan's Summer School course, two soothe bells( CW: animal/pokemon abuse ) he won at the Heart Home City Tag battle competition, There's a plaque bearing the words 'Indigo League top Sixteen' another that says 'Battle Frontier with gold little pins pressed into it, Half a Ribbon, several small cases containing pins of various colors and sizes, a gold trophy sporting a gold ball with wings attached to it, another trophy that looks like a golden tower, and what looks like a home made medal(CW: torture) with '2nd' written on it.
Each one connects and activates a very specific memory related to the item. There's a loft bed off to the side and the sheets are patterned with little red and white balls. There's an odd bear like plush somewhere across from the loft bed and small television sitting on top a tv stand, the remote( CW: Child Death) resting on top of it. Above the Loft bed is a shelf littered with various things, most notable though is a broken red and white ball that looks like it might be an alarm clock.
On the desk attached to the bed there are three clear glass orbs(Child death, Drowning). One will glow blue when picked, one will glow Orange and the last will glow yellow. Picking up any of the three will spark the same memory. There are a pair of gloves (CW: Death) draped over the chair tucked into the desk, and a model of something that looks a lot like the Eifel Tower( CW:Child endangerment, Near death experience ). Also sitting atop the desk is a small stone(CW: very angry birds, bike theft Near Death Experience) that looks a little out of place.
There a few bat like creatures dangling in a corner of the room and among them is an outlier- an odd dragon-like creature or more pterodactyl like creature(CW: Near Death experience, carnivorous animals/Pokemon) dangles in the center and a small orange and yellow, bat like creature( CW: child death, altitude sickness ) with a V crest on its head hangs off to the side.
towards the ceiling are very strange looking creatures that look like letters flittering and orbiting around each other. There are only about five but it's enough the real Ash is looking a little uncertainly at them. "Unown." He breathes, watching him closely as they swirl and dance about his ceiling. "What are they doing here?"
Pikachu is watching them as well but his ears twitch as he hears the door open and turns to face their visitor.

The moment Reeve picks up the model the Unown overhead react. Pikachu looks up in alarm as the odd looking letters begin to move in the opposite direction, circling and orbiting each other with an unnerving glow and an almost eerie chant of "Unoooown... Unooown...."
The floor beneath them begins to glow and the room shifts, a tall tower materializes from the ground beneath and the walls of the room fall away to reveal the pink and orange that can only come from sunset.
There's a crowd down below of concerned on lookers and news crews. Up on the ledge close to the top of the tower is an odd, dragon-like creature with odd coloring is struggling to get what looks like a painful red band off its neck.
Ash comes up from a ladder just out of view and starts to carefully approach the distressed creature as it flails, trying to pull the horrible collar off with arms that are just not designed to bend the right way.
"Hey, Garchomp..." Ash addresses the creature. It turns red eyes on the human child approaching it and looks ready to attack.
It does attack, sending what seems to be a dangerous purple blast directly at Ash, Pikachu and an odd blue frog who all have to quickly jump out of the way, Ash moving more towards the wall of the tower.
"Whoa!" Ash breaths as the Dark Pulse rips through the solid concrete of the Prism Tower, catches a some to the electric wiring and causes an explosion. Somehow, Ash and the others are okay. The pokemon trainer still trying to approach the rampaging pokemon but keeping his hand close to the wall-maybe to make sure he doesn't move too far away from it- it is quite a long ways to fall, after all.

“Please Garchomp, you’ve gotta calm down.” Ash pleads.
“Fro!” The blue frog says.
“PiKachu” Pikachu says in concern. Garchomp just eyes them menacingly, growling with a clear message to back off. A message that Ash isn’t paying attention to because he continues to move closer and closer to it.
“I’m gonna get closer now, okay?” He tells it. It growls in warning but Ash takes a careful step closer. When he gets too close it lets out a distressed growl and flies up the level above.
“Garchomp!” Ash cries out worriedly. “Come back!” He looks around, quickly spotting a service ladder and rushing over, climbing up. The scene shifts and suddenly the scene is at the top of Prism Tower.
Up on top, Garchomp releases a pinkish beam of light into the air, making it impossible for the news copters to get closer. It doesn’t take long before the young pokemon trainer is pulling himself up to the very top of the tower and slowly getting to his feet. He looks a little wobbly, but still determined. The blue frog and Pikachu on either side of him look every bit as determined as he is.
“I’m here to help, Garchomp.” He says sincerely. Garchomp must not believe him though as its eyes flash dangerously and it fires another devastating dark pulse towards the boy who once again, dives out of the way just in time.
Pikachu hops in front of Ash on all fours and tail sticking up as he sizes up his opponent. “Pikaaa-” Sparks start to emit from Pikachu as he prepares to launch a thunderbolt at the rampaging Pokémon.
“No, Pikachu!” Ash cries out and Pikachu stops, the electricity fizzling out.
“Pika?” He asks in confusion. Ash doesn’t bother to look over at Pikachu as he’s still carefully watching the other pokemon. “I don’t want you to attack Garchomp.” He says seriously.

But of course children were often that much more idealistic than adults.

“Pikachu?” Pikachu asks just before Garchomp aims another attack their way and Ash, Pikachu, and the blue frog have to jump back to avoid getting hit. Ash uses a hand to steady himself and gets back up on his feet, eyes still locked on Garchomp.
“Garchomp, can you hear me?” Ash asks, still determined to get closer. “I know it hurts. You’re in a lot of pain.”
“Piika.” Pikachu says worriedly, whether or not he's concerned for Ash or for Garchomp is not really clear, perhaps it's a mix of both leaning more heavily on Ash's side.
“Fro…” the little blue frog says sadly.
“We just want to help you.” Ash insist, taking careful steps closer. “Please, let me get that collar off so we can go back down..”
“Gar…” Garchomp continues to growl, watching Ash with uncertainty but it does seem like his words are getting through.
“Gar…” It whimpers as the red, glowing collar sparks against its skin.
“Please? So what do you say?” Ash prompts his tone far too serious for a ten year old boy but also full of optimism that could only come from him.
“Gaaar…” Garchomp whimpers and Ash moves a little closer. It seems like maybe Garchomp will let him approach now. Briefly, its eyes shift from glowing red to their normal yellow but another spark from the glowing collar and they go back to red again.
Garchomp lets out a howl of pain and tries to get at the collar, taking a few steps backwards and getting precariously close to the edge.

“Wait! Garchomp, look out!” Ash cries out in horror.
“Froakie, Froak!” The little blue frog hops up pulls some sticky looking bubbles from its back and throws them at Garchomp’s feet.
“Good thinking, Froakie!” Ash praises when it seems that Froakie’s quick thinking stopped Garchomp from falling over the edge.
“Gar…” Garchomp says as it desperately tries to get the collar off.
“We’ve gotta destroy that collar.” Ash says to Piakchu before he moves quickly over to Garchomp, no longer worried about scaring it off. Pikachu makes a noise of agreement and follows after.
Ash leaps up, grabbing onto the struggling garchomp to try and hold it steady-a difficult task when it’s several feet taller than him and his legs are dangling off the ground. “Garchomp, hang on and I’ll get this thing off you!” He promises. Garchomp lets out another dark pulse but misses Ash wildly due to the angle. “Pikachu! Use Iron tail on the collar!”
“Pika!” Pikachu affirms. Before leaping up, hardening his tail and slamming it against the red, sparking collar. “Chupika!”
It splits and Ash and Garchomp teeter dangerously for a moment but the Pokemon’s eyes turn back to yellow and it leans in towards the tower, falling to its knees in exhaustion. Ash finally lets go of it, his feet back on the solid floor.
“Are you okay?” Ash asks it as it pants, trying to catch its breath.
“Pika!” Pikachu cries out happily since it seems everyone is okay.
“That must have hurt.” Ash says soothingly to Garchomp. “Help’s on the way, don’t worry.” He assures.
“Gar…” Garchomp looks at him sadly.
“Pi-Pika?” Piakchu’s sprint towards Ash is cut short as the ground beneath him crumbles and Pikachu is pitched off the side of the tower.

"Don't," he pleads.

“Pikachu!!” He doesn’t even think twice before he rushes to the edge and, probaby much Reeve's horror, jumps. Except, he doesn't just jump. He launched himself directly off the top of the tower, diving headfirst towards the yellow mouse.
They both plummet downwards but Ash manages to grab hold of Pikachu, holding him tightly in his arms as the two brace for the worst.
At the very last second a streak of red shoots across the horizon and catches Ash and Pikachu in midair before heading back to the ground. The world goes bright a moment and suddenly the four walls of Ash’s bedroom enclose the space and the Unown on the ceiling stop glowing, bringing everything back to the same setting as before.
“That was weird…” Ash says, staring up at them in concern and clearly unphased by the fact he had very nearly fallen to his death.

"You almost died!" he shouts.
no subject
"No I didn't." He denies in a matter-of-fact tone. "Blaziken saved us just in time." He points out. Pikachu nods in agreement to Ash's statement. Ash has come much closer than that to death. In fact, Pikachu knows that Ash has died before and thinks maybe they shouldn't reveal this little fact to Reeve.
Then again, maybe it'd be nice to have someone here well aware of his trainers recklessness and blatant disregard for his own life at times.

"It doesn't matter, I do whatever I can to protect my friends." He says firmly. "I'd rather try something than know I didn't try anything." Pikachu nods with Ash's conviction.
Would Pikachu be happy if Ash died trying to save him? Of course not. He'd be unhappy if Ash died trying to save anyone. However, he's long since accepted that that is just who his trainer is. Besides, Arceus would never let that happen.

"So you just want to throw your life away?"
no subject
"Pika. Pikapi pika. Pikachu." Pikachu states calmly. There's no use in arguing this with Ash, he's just gonna do it again and again. Pikachu looks around the room and wonders how many things in here are going to show just how reckless and selfless Ash really is.

"Well the tower at least was stunningly beautiful. I love the design. The person was very talented."

"You don't seem a fan. Understandable, given the fall."
He doesn't know better.

"I just prefer mountains to buildings." He says quickly.
"Pikapi." Pikachu says disapprovingly.

He moves to find a more comfortable position. Which of course means leaning against the chair. Which brings him into contact with the gloves.

The door transforms into an opening and Ash and Pikachu rush in and stop dead, staring at the large crystal structure directly across from them. With them is an odd, blue pokemon with red eyes and standing on two legs-Lucario and a human dressed in Pink- Kidd holding a small light pink pokemon-Mew.
Lucario spots something near the ground and rushes forward to grab a pair of gloves-the same gloves that were draped over Ash’s chair.
“Could it be?” The pokemon holds them gently. “ These are his gloves but..” He glances at one of the crystals nearby only to see the silhouette of a man in a very wide brimmed hat. “Sir Aaron?” Lucario holds his hand out, closing his eyes and focusing his energy until the silhouette glows with a soft blue light. Ash and Pikachu both gasp.
“It is you!” Lucario states in disbelief.
“I see! After sealing Lucario in the staff, Sir Aaron came to this chamber.” Kidd states, glancing around the large area. “This place must be the heart of the tree. But why here?”
Ash moves towards the biggest structure in the room, Pikachu still perched on his shoulder.
“Pika!” Pikachu points to something on the ground. Ash approaches it, kneeling down closer to the odd crystal flower.
“It’s a time flower.” Ash identifies it and then gently touches the top of it with his hand. The inside glows gently for a moment as the petals open up and a small, glowing orb floats out. There’s a flash of light and things shift, the colors in the surrounding area become muted, leaving Ash and his friends looking more vibrant as it becomes clear this is a memory of some kind that Ash and his friend are witnessing. This time a man in old looking clothes and a wide-brimmed hat comes in the same way Ash and his friends did. He appears in the same muted colors signifying he's not really there and just part of the tree's memory.
“Where are you? Mew!” The man calls out, looking around. There’s a squawk from up above and a giant red and gold bird lands, perched high up on the wall. It glows white but changes shape back to Mew.
“Mew, I realize that you and this tree are one.” Sir Aaron says as Mew Floats before him. “Please, take the power of my Aura to save the people.”
“Mew?” Mew questions.
“Now! Accept the Aura!” Aaron demands, holding his hand out to the little Pokemon. A small blue light forms in front of his hands and with a bit more effort, it grows in size until it’s completely engulfed Mew. Aaron starts to glow, whimpering in pain as he transfers his life energy to Mew. Something like electrical sparks begin to emit from the man as he offers up more and more of his Aura.
Sir Aaron lets out one last painful scream, directing the last of his Aura to Mew. There’s another flash of light and Aarron and the Mew of the past have vanished, leaving behind just Ash, Pikachu, Lucario, Kidd, and the very sick Mew.
“Pi?” Pikachu hops down from Ash’s shoulder, running over to where Sir Aaron had just been. “Pika?” He looks around.
“Sir Aaron sacrificed himself in order to save the kingdom and restore peace.” Kidd states, glancing over at Lucario. “He was a hero like tha legends say..” She glances down at the Mew in her arms.
“Forgive me for doubting you, Master.” Lucario kneels by the Sir Aaron silhouette. One of the Crystals glows an ugly red and then turns black before disappearing.
“Mew..” Mew says as it rolls out of Kidd’s arms and floats over to Lucario. “Mew! Mew, mew mew!” It says insistently.
“There’s a way to save the tree?” Lucario looks up at the Mythical Pokemon. “If we use the power of Aura?”
“Mew, mew!” Mew nods. Another crystal formation starts to disintegrate.
“I’ll help you, Mew.” Lucario decides.
“Hold on Lucario, If you use your Aura to reverse the damage you’ll end up in the same suspended state as Sir Aaron.” Kidd warns as Ash rejoins the small group.
“Yes, I know.” Lucario states, more crystals behind him turning to dust.
“Lucario..” Ash says sadly, watching him. Lucario turns back to Mew, placing a hand over his heart.
“The Aura is with me.” He states and then holds his hand out to Mew, a small blue light illuminating from his hand. The light begins to grow, slowly engulfing Mew just as it had in the memory. Ash stands off to the side and watches, concern clear on his face.
The Aura sphere bursts and Lucario falls backwards. “It’s not working. I’m not strong enough.”
“Do you remember what you said about me before?” Ash asks just before he grabs the Aura Guardian Gloves.
“Ash…” Lucario starts as Ash is pulling the gloves onto his own hands.
“You said that my Aura was like Sir Aaron’s. It’s time to test if it's really true.” Ash states and then raises his own hands to hold out to Mew.

Except he knew well that sometimes there just wasn't.

“Pikapi…” Pikachu says worriedly.
“No!” Kidd objects. “It’s too dangerous! You’ll end up destroying yourself.”
“If I don’t do this the tree will die, and so will all the Pokemon who live here.” Ash argues, still concentrating on transferring his Aura to Mew.
“Ash..” Lucario says again, watching the determined child sacrifice more of his Aura.
“I’m not gonna give up!” Ash declares before he closes his eyes and lets out a grunt of pain. Lucario raises his hands to once again try to transfer his Aura to Mew. With their combined effort, their Aura lights grow in size and encase Mew.
“Pika…” Pikachu says, still watching Ash with sadness and concern. More of the crystals in the background disintegrate and turn to dust as the tree continues to die.
Ash starts to glow blue just as Sir Aaron had, the Aura energy starting to spark around him. It’s clear by how he’s breathing and groaning that the transfer hurts. Lucario starts to glow as well, and just like Ash, the energy sparks around him. Neither one is giving up though, both focused on lending Mew their life energy to try and heal it.
Ash lets out another cry of pain and Lucario looks over at him and then at Mew. Mew is starting to look better, regaining its usual color as its cheeks are no longer flushed. Lucario looks back at Ash again and then rams him, hard, with his shoulder, sending Ash flying back several feet, one of the oversized gloves slipping off his hand. His concentration broken, the aura light fades from him and it takes him a second to realize what Lucario has just done.
“Huh?”
“Leave the rest of this to me, Ash!” Lucario demands, grunting in pain.
“Lucario!” Ash calls out, unable to do anything, possibly because of all the energy he’s already spent trying to revive Mew..
“The Aura is with me.” Lucario assures him. He gives a final push of his energy to Mew and seems to have worked. Mew’s back to itself and flies over to the heart of the tree, transferring its own power into it.
The red glow vanishes, the crystals return to the aquamarine color and the heart of the tree turns purple once again. Mew comes back over, chanting excitedly as moves over to Ash.
“I see you’re feeling a lot better, huh?” He asks.
“Pika!” Pikachu says happily from his usual perch on Ash’s shoulder. Off to the side, Lucario grunts and pain and has to sit down, his aura sparking dangerously.
“Lucario!” Ash runs over and kneels next to him.
“There’s nothing you can do for me, Ash.” Lucario states, trembling from the effort.
“Are you sure?” Ash asks, watching him with concern.
“Pika?” Pikachu’s ears droop and Lucario’s body begins to fade.
“Lucario! Hang on, you can’t leave us yet!” Ash grabs the Pokemon’s fading hand.
“I have to go Ash, Sir Aaron is… is waiting for me.” Lucario says, leaning back as he fades completely away, all that’s left is a small aura sphere and then with a flash of light, everything reverts back to resemble Ash’s bedroom.
This time, once things settle back down, Ash is looking a little pale and not nearly as chipper or spirited as he had been and Pikachu rubs his cheek roughly against the young trainer making comforting noises.
