I am able to end my own quarantine early. Procuring those live specimens has proven to be the right choice. Plant #207 will be added to native group A, further classifications pending.
For now it remains uncertain whether they absorb or neutralize radiation as I haven’t been able to conduct further tests yet, but they clearly do something about it.
[ He pauses, making a low, pensive noise. ]
I can’t help but think. Were these plants to exist back on Earth, what would happen after their discovery? Would their existence spell the end of nuclear war? Would it mark the birth of a new brand of bio weapons?
[ Another pause. But this one ends in a short, humorless chuckle. ]
Who am I kidding. Humans love to wage war against their own kind way too much as to not waste great potential…
