This is the right place to look for a helping hand, right?
So, first, I've been staking out the hunting grounds for a place to sleep, lately. It's the one with all the stinging insects; not that you aren't all charming, but at least I know what I'm eating over here. But aside from all that, I've got a decent pile-up of their leftover webbing. It's interesting stuff, but I don't have a direct use for it.
So if anyone wants it, I'm happy to give a trade. Make me an offer.
In related news, I've been working on a new style. I don't really go in for insects, but the webbing is interesting. I need something that moves to test it on properly, though, so if you think you're tough enough to take it, I'm looking for someone to help work out the kinks.
Don't worry, it's just a basic thesis right now. I'm hoping it might go all the way to telenoisis if I keep developing it, though. There's something in this, I know it.
I'm Quintet, by the way. Serious inquiries only.

[A couple of hours? but he's bored noooooow. That's okay, Sonic can keep himself entertained in the meantime.]
Orange-20, huh? I haven't actually done a lot of exploring in that area yet, this gives me a good excuse to poke around town a bit down there while I wait.
Quintet is familiar here, and has a favorite spot. Sitting atop what might have once been some kind of base for signage, old concrete cracked down the middle and rust-scarred, her perch is still solid and raised up somewhat from the ground. There's a lot of open space between here and anywhere, all the better for safety after all, and she's quietly grooming her ears as she settles in to wait.]
[Action]
Hey! Hope I didn't keep you waiting.
[It's rare that he keeps anyone waiting, but he might as well be polite.]

[But then, he probably knows that. His stance is pretty weird, of course, but that speed! Who cares what it does to your spine, when you can move like that.]
Is that your metanoia? It's amazing! You weren't kidding when you said you could move.

I have no idea what metanoia means, but it's kind of just a thing that I've always been able to do, for as long as I can remember anyway.

[Either he's a natural talent, one of nature's Betters, or just... reay damn lucky. She heard a story about a turtle who pulled off a similar feat, once, but with nothing like so much grace.]
Well, anyways... I uh. I've been working out this new style. I'm not sure what it'll be useful for yet, but if I can make it do something, I can start figuring out its strengths, at least. But I can't tell how much of it is translating past my own perception. [Which is why she needs you here, Sonic. And any other volunteers.] So I just need you to tell me what you're seeing, when I try this. Then we can see about moving trials.
It probably won't stand up to much, just yet. Your speed style will probably shred it, unless I make some pretty heavy modifications.

If you need me to slow down for whatever you're doing, I totally can. I wouldn't wanna ruin your thing, y'know?

[Quintet has no idea what she's asking for, but she's no coward, you gotta give her that.]
Right, so. First thing is... [Quintet bounds a few meters away, and assumes an odd pose. All four feet are wide on the ground, toes splayed so that every claw is out, her body leaning back unnaturally far, with her tail curled under, trying to mimic the stance of a spider in waiting.]
Octuple-comb weaving intrappe... [The style spread out, not from Quintet, but from Sonic himself, a brief shimmering, that formed very slowly at first, and then with astonishing speed, until it was a complete circle, with Quintet crouched at its border, as if at the edge of a shimmering puddle that settled, and then abruptly hardened into shape; a spider's web.] ...mark!
Okay. You see that, right? Try and get out of it.

[Man Sonic has no idea what this cat is doing, but he can't deny that it looks cool as hell. He even lets out an impressed whistle once she's done, VERY COOL.
And now he's standing in a gross spider web. He tries moving his feet, but finds that they're stuck pretty firmly in place. Obviously running was out of the question, unless he wanted to ditch his shoes and try jumping from where he was all the way over to clear ground, but he's not about to do that goofy shit. Instead, he does some different goofy shit. He rolls into a ball. In the webs, yes.
He's probably going to lose a few quills with this stunt, but it's fine. They'll grow back. Somehow he manages to start spinning in place, looking very much like a weird blue buzzsaw, and he burrows straight down through the webs and into the ground.
A couple moments later, Sonic suddenly bursts through the ground next to Quintet, where he climbs out and dusts his hands off. He'll worry about picking stray web out of his quills later.]
Eh, not as flashy as I would have liked, but I guess that worked. Or does that count as cheating?
