What's this?
WHO:Poe Dameron, OTA
WHERE: Bishop, Winter Event Planet
WHAT: Winter fun, Child Shenanigans.
WHEN: Event Start until 1/31
WARNINGS: Will update if needed
Bishop
The music is strange, like nothing Poe's ever heard before, but it compels him along with the rest, and he finds himself boarding one of the ships. When the engines spring to life it seems to awaken something in Poe. That's a feeling he hasn't felt since he'd first been grounded here.
But try as he might he can't change the ship's course, nor can he find a way to get a message out. He takes some of his frustration out with a kick to the hull, but that only nets him a sore foot, and eventually he forces himself to settle and pass the time with his new cohorts.
BB Poe
(For reference: This and This by Albindraws
Of course Poe had been tempted by the chocolate, not that he could remember that now, a small curly haired child of about eight, looking about in confusion and in far too big clothes. The patch on the arm of his jacket is familiar, and that's his mother's ring around his neck still, but he has no idea how he's wound up in this place.
A bit of searching and he finds some more suitably sized (though strange) clothing, and steps outside to find a world of white. He's never seen snow in person before, and even in his confused state his eyes widen in wonder.
He approaches anyone he can spot asking-
"Have you seen my father?"
"I'm looking for Kes? Kes Dameron? Or L'ulo L'ampar? Anyone...?"
"I need to get back to Yavin 4, can you help me?
Fun in the Snow
Poe's rounded up a small group of kids and broken them into teams for a snow fight. Each squadron breaks off to build a base camp, and Poe remarks, "We need call signs," as he builds up one of the walls. "I'll be Green On- uh...Leader. Green Leader," he corrects, "Who wants to be Green Two?"
Snow is COLD
The snow very quickly looses it's appeal. Poe's never been so cold in his life, and after playing outside in the snow for so long he's soaked through and shivering, in desperate need of warming up.
Back to normal
Eight days later, and Poe is back to his normal self, and luckily he's able to remember where he stashed his clothes. Adult Poe is more better prepared to handle the cold than his younger counter part, and might still be wanting to start up another snow ball fight, only this time with higher stakes.
He returns to the ships more than once to see if he can get them to work, but as ever they remain unyielding to his best efforts.
[OOC: Feel free to find him anywhere/anytime not mentioned and write your own starter for them, just specify if it's during the child or adult portion of the event]

For what it was worth, he could not bare to not be comfortable within his robes. His staff would always be at his back in case he would need it. The Crystal Exarch had begun to wonder when he might grow weak from being away from the Crystal Tower for so long. But that thought could stay in the far back of his mind as he lingered around the ships from the outside. He didn't think anyone else was around but if there were, he would be friendly towards them. His face would be shown to them. After a while of being here, he figured that it was safe as he gained more trust for the people he would be living with.
He spots Poe not too far away from the ships and says aloud. "Do you know a lot about these ships?"
no subject
"In theory," he agrees. Poe's a pilot back home, and he touched the stupid data point here. He should know everything he needs to to make these ships work, but so far they seem to operate only when and how the Agrii want them to.
"I haven't met you yet, right? Poe Dameron," he introduces.
no subject
"And by in theory, can you explain that a bit more? I don't believe we have. Crystal Exarch."
no subject
"I know how these ships ought to work, but they won't. The Agrii won't let us use them when they don't want us to."
no subject
"Would you be able to maybe teach me more about them? In case an emergency were to come up while aboard. Even if I may not be able to do a lot of with it, it'll be helpful if an situation were to come up." He shakes his head at the mention of the Agrii. "I do not particularly enjoy the fact that the Agrii have a lot of control on where we can go and that we can't leave from here just yet. Not that I haven't been enjoying the celebration of being here."

[Armitage hesitantly greeted the other boy. In his arms he was holding a fluffy orange kitten. She also meowed in greeting. He had been watching the other boy for a while before he decided to finally approach him.]
Do you need any help?
no subject
I'm trying to find my father. Are you alone too?
no subject
[Hux replied and allowed for the other to pet the kitten noticing his interest.]
Why do you want to find your father?
no subject
Why wouldn't I? I need to get home.
no subject
[Hux found himself unfamiliar with the terms. He didn't want to find his father or be near him. Nor did he understand what the concept of home was. He's always been on a space ship most of the time.]

He appreciates the friendly face, even if their first encounter hadn't gone quite so well, and Poe sighs to try and release some of that remaining tension. "...Flying's what I do. I thought it was bad being grounded, but this...this might be worse."

Steve feels a little like he needs to explain their connection more, considering how that first meeting went. "I'm an ex-soldier myself so the military run was pretty much the only thing that centered me."
no subject
"...He does seem to have made a new life for himself here."

Steve gestures out to Poe as though to prove his point. "I'm not sayin' you forget what happened in your past. I have quite a few people that I wouldn't be pleased to see, here. Just. I don't know. Something to think about."

"This one's not working, either," he commented, hoping to save Poe the effort of trying.
no subject
"How you doing?"
no subject
"Frustrated," he admitted. Being planet-bound sucked now that he'd been in space long enough. He'd gotten too used to it. He hated being stuck, especially against his will like this.
"How about you?"
