Is it a dragon? Is it a fly? It's a DRAGONFLY!!
WHO: Team Dragonfly
WHERE: North Easter part of Temba - Around the Hangar
WHAT: It looks goofy, but it SPITS FIRE!!
WHEN: Monster bashing event
WARNINGS: A big, angry fire bug. Albert is also angry. And Ash has no balls to try and catch either! What is even going on here?!
While roaring can be heard from multiple areas of the city, it's this overgrown bug Wesker finds himself running into first and narrowly dodged a ball of lava that hit the remains of a building instead and now proceeds to slowly burn its way through the solid stone and metal structure.
But seeing that has been enough information for Wesker to decide that this thing shouldn't remain too close to actually intact or even important buildings and that he would rather not get hit by any of these lava projectiles. At least he is currently linked up with the Security data point and therefore has a handy tool in the weapon he has been working on to get the odd insect's attention.
He fires two blasts at the monster then runs past it to pull it away from any more or less undamaged building and to the open area near the hangar, debating whether or not he should bother requesting assistance with the beast but ultimately deciding against it. Doing so would only take away from his focus of dodging the beast's claws and lava attacks while firing his weapon whenever he sees an opening to do so.

Ash gives Pikachu a boost by thrusting him up with his arm and Pikachu is at the ready.
"PIKA-CHUUU"
A large amount of electricity comes directly from the lightening mouse that is aimed right at the Dragonfly.

And well, what else can he do? He can't just let a child possibly get hurt. So, with a sigh Reeve found a bit of cover and charged up his own materia. Soon after Pikachu's burst of energy another bolt of lightning lances out to strike the creature, this one coming from a rather cloudless sky.
Magic, it's good for misdirecting.
"Find cover, kid," he shouts out into the din of the mess, even as he charges up his own ice materia and uses it to form a frozen wall to shelter himself further.

He is not at all surprised to see the boy and his Pokémon charging into things. Firearms seem to have little effect, or perhaps it's just the power behind it. This thing is somehow spewing lava.
The warlord calculates the distance. And then he jumps as high as he can from the tower top, gliding towards the fray. He's intent to take full advantage of the height while he has it, aiming right for the winged creature while its attention is diverted to those on the ground. Violet light flares in his hand, inverting as it coalesces into a sphere. He doesn't release it until he's nearly on top of the creature.
Nova Bombs are not something he wants to miss his target with, and once it makes contact, it would be clear as to why. The swirling vortex of Void energy rips at the dragonfly, and Felwinter's only disappointed that it's not nearly the intensity he's used to. This is why he's had such a hard time trying to tone things down for a spar against Pikachu.
Which is probably why he caps it off with all four rounds of his shotgun at its head as he drops towards the ground.

While the massive bug appears stunned for a moment, Wesker takes the chance to switch out his alien gun for one of those equally alien energy scythes he had picked up at the greenhouse and activates its softly humming blade when the monster gets hit again. This time by a combination of obvious gunshots and- Whatever that purple light is meant to be.
The beast lets out an angry shriek and attempts to turn away, though Wesker is quick to dash forward and up, attacking the Dragonfly‘s claws with his weapon. “I’m still here, lady!” He all but snarls and uses the giant’s hands and arms to gain further height and aim a powerful kick towards its head to keep its attention.
Which appears to work well enough as the monster keeps swinging it’s claws at the comparatively small opponent that just keeps dodging and aggravating the creature to the point where it appears to burst into flames. Though it really rather engulfs itself in lava, forcing Wesker to back away at least temporarily. The display lasts for a moment before the lava is launched away from the monster, forming little comets that fly off in every possible direction.

It's not too different than when Moltres goes on a rampage; avoid the flames as best you can and keep attacking with everything you have Except, Motres is bird not a bug. Talonflame would be a much better match up but he knows he can rely on Pikachu.
"Thunderbolt, again!" He calls out, using his arm to give Pikachu another boost. "Give it more power, Pikachu!"
"CHUUU!"
Another intense discharge of electricity comes from Pikachu who has his thunderbolt aimed right at the Dragonfly.

"Felwinter!" he shouted, recognizing the man both from his power and his motion. "You okay!"
Because falling like that could be a problem for someone. Maybe not Felwinter.

"Fine," he replies in Reeve's direction, his tone not much changed from his usual one for conversation. His attention is already back on the beast above, just in time to throw himself into a roll to avoid one of the fiery blasts.
Apparently his legs are indeed fine as he launches himself into another leap and once in the air continues to lift higher, gliding upwards to be at better level with the dragonfly as he fires again.
still sick, but the fight must go on
The electricity is less straight forward and is something for him to pay attention to if he wants to avoid being electrocuted along with the flying beast that gives another angry roar at being shocked again and lashes out with its claws in response, which add another reason for Wesker to leap away and back on solid ground while switching back to his own rifle and adding blasts of energy to the shotgun blasts from above. At least he can appreciate the presence of one actual gun in this endeavor.
Needless to say, the Dragonfly isn't as happy about the guns. Or the electricity. Or the ice even though that has been more aimed at the lava projectiles. The monster bursts into flames, drastically increasing the heat in its vicinity and starts spiting a steady stream of flames and directing it from one pestering attacker to the next, which Wesker on his part prefers to dodge entirely.

"Pikapi!" Pikachu's startled cry pulls him out of his thoughts just in time to see Pikachu use Iron Tail to beat back a fire ball that almost hit the ten year old. "PiKachu! Pikachu!" He cries out angrily.
"S-sorry Pikachu." Ash focuses on the field again, trying to get a good look just as he would in the trainer's box during a battle. There's several other people on the field and he's not so sure he's a fan of their methods, after all he doesn't want to hurt the creature, he wants to calm it down. Something caused the rampage and he'd like to know what it was.
"Think you can get close by using your electricity as a shield?" He asks Pikachu who still looks none too happy with him at the moment but gives a nod. "Cool, I've got an idea. Use Quick attack." He calls out. Pikachu picks up his speed and dashes up to get close to the Dragonfly. "okay, just like we talked about, Now try and knock it down with Iron Tail!"
Pikachu encases himself in a electric charge and then jumps up with a flip, bringing his tail down hard on the Dragonfly. "ChuPika!"
no subject
"What even is this thing?" he shouted to anyone who might hear him. It looked... strange. Which was saying something because in his world people could literally get attacked by creatures that were like sentient russian nesting dolls.
He calls another bolt of lightning down on the thing, because sorry Ash, this thing is trying to kill them.
no subject
The biggest problem to him is that he does not want to get anyone else caught up in his normally devastating attacks. And with Pikachu throwing himself headlong against a creature so many times more his size, the warlord doesn't want to risk a Void grenade.
So he will have to ensure that his allies survive.
He slings his shotgun back, instead drawing on Solar. Flames engulf his form as he raises his hand up, fire spiraling up to form a blade of fire. Felwinter drops down, bringing the blade down ahead of him to thrust it into the ground where the flames release a surprisingly comforting warmth as a soft light spreads from beneath him.
Fiery lines extend from the sword's hilt as he releases it, homing in on each of the other fighters, refreshing and strengthening their attacks, healing any wounds.

He winces inwardly when he spots Ash's yellow companion attack it tail-first when the Dragonfly has just burst into flames, effectively making the rodent experience a trip into a burning furnace. And if that weren't enough the beast manages to dodge the attack, retaliating with a swing of its claws, further agitated by being hit by yet another lightningstrike.
The curse Wesker growls is an audible one and he is about ready to charge in when he spots even more fire from yet a different source and try as he might he can't dodge that one. But the moment it hits, he has to realize that this is not another attack meant to cause harm.
Wesker quickly recovers from that observation and tracks the fire back to its source. More magic? His attention jumps back to Pikachu, who now shares the friendly fiery glow and may very well have been saved by it. Well. This should come in handy. He drops his weapon to the ground and bursts forward, seemingly disappearing as he leaps up to the Dragonfly's face, pulls his arm back and slams his flat hand forward, right into one of the still burning monster's ridiculously big eyes. "Don't ignore me!"
no subject
"You okay, buddy?" He asks to be sure. Pikachu gives him a sharp nod and the two both glance back up at the Dragonfly. Unlike all the other, his mind is on subduing and not destroying so when he sees Wesker try slam him hand into it's eye, Ash can't help but freak out. "What are you doing?" He panics. That's going to do one of two things; really really make it angry or hurt it.
"Pika!" Pikachu calls out angrily.

"If you hadn't noticed, that thing is trying to kill us," Reeve points out, and he sounds like he's not surprised by this. "Stay back and let us do what has to be done to protect the city if you can't."
And it seems like the kid can't.
Reeve charges his materia once more and, seeing Wesker's plan, forms another spike of ice magic over the thing's head. Maybe after Wesker's blow the thing will stay still enough for the spear of ice to fall onto it in some damaging way.
no subject
"There was a likeness of it near those strange pillars that had appeared, before. I don't know why it has now become physical, but leaving it unattended to will be more damaging and endanger the others."
He can only figure that Ash is seeing this creature as another Pokémon like Pikachu, and he doesn't want the child to get himself killed over that mistake.
"...not all creatures are willing to be befriended."

Now while the narrative will spare the gorier details, the blow hits and proves to be quite effective at making the monster rear up in pain, freezing it long enough for the solid spear of ice to hit its mark and knocking the Dragonfly back down and stunning it at least temporarily. Enough time for Wesker to pull his arm free and regaining at least a little bit of distance while switching back to his gun.
"You can discuss its nature and origins later. But it's not dead yet!" The man cuts in sharply and starts firing at the monster again.
no subject
"So? It's probably confused and doesn't know what's happening. If we find out why it's upset we can help it!" He argues, Pikachu making a sound of agreement.
"You can't just-!" He doesn't say the words and just harshly shakes his head. "Just because it's upset!" Thankfully, he's not watching when Wesker shoves his hand in the thing's eye but the cry of pain it makes is enough and Ash whips his head back to the battle.
"NO!" He cries out. "STOP!" He has to help it! But how?
no subject
That's all he has time for because Wesker is right. They don't have time to argue. And since this thing was what had started the aggression toward the city and since Reeve had never seen anything of their like except the smaller ones last month... Well, he's assuming they're a 'gift' from someone hostile, and all they can do is try and defend themselves and their temporary home.
As for Reeve... Fuck, if the kid and his pet won't help anymore and they might need Felwinter to remove him from the conflict, that means Reeve needs to be doing more. Damn but he needed a rifle right about now. He musters his courage (he's fought worse things than this, he really has, they were all just also smaller) he runs toward the dazed thing, firing off more ice spells as he goes.
"Wesker, can you do something about those wings?"
It would be easier to fight if it didn't have height advantage.
no subject
Felwinter turns towards the boy and his Pokémon. "This is not a world where battles are fought for sport or fun, unfortunately. For some, fighting is the only way to survive. There are malicious sorts who only want to cause harm or hardship, and we can't let them have their way or others will suffer."
He can feel his Well of Radiance fading, but at least the other two have been making the most of it. The Exo takes the opportunity to leap over to where Ash and Pikachu are, turning so he can keep an eye on the creature in case any wayward shots come their way.
"I will not force you to go, but I don't want you to risk getting hurt, either."
no subject
"Just get the child out of here!" He barks, but isn't arguing with Reeve's suggestion to cut the beast's wings. With a small nod of acknowledgement to that part, Wesker pulls the scythe-like weapon back out and leaps up onto the monster's back just as it starts pushing itself back up, flinching and snarling with the impact of every ice spell hitting its body.
Wesker raises one foot up to bring it down hard between the wings of the Dragonfly, causing it to howl and try to hit the man on its back with its claws. As long as he remains its primary irritant, it has no reason to focus on anyone else. The energy scyths is swung mercilessly at the base of one of the monster's wings, cleanly cutting it off and causing the beast to roar up again, pain and anger mixing into a pure rage and the beast again erupts into flames, launching more balls of fire and lava around itself.
no subject
"That maybe, but you didn't even try to use anything but deadly force!" He says angrily. Pikachu winces at the loud, pained noise from the Dragonfly and insistently rubs against Ash's cheek to keep him distracted. "You didn't even try to figure out why it's upset! And now it's gonna-" He chokes on the word and Pikachu does his best to keep Ash from looking up. They've seen a lot in their travels but violence to living creatures is still something that really gets to them.
If Ash wants him to, he's prepared to shock everyone away but that won't stop Felwinter.
"Pikapika pikachu Pikapi." Pikachu says reassuringly. It's got to be hard for the human that's regularly almost sacrificed his life for others to sit and do nothing when some poor creature is being murdered.

Getting closer to the creature is the last thing that Reeve wants, but it really does need dealt with. He lashes out with another lightning bolt and then the ice as well.
"How thick are those scales, Wesker?"
Because he thinks if it's not too thick they could open the thing up and Reeve could use his fire magic then.

The world he comes from is a harsh one to try surviving in. And it was only just before he'd been brought from it to this place that he'd started to realize that there were those who had no possible way of fighting back to survive, and that he could possibly change that for them.
Children however are still a new field of experience for him. There are things he can't understand, a perspective that he cannot relate to. It's jarring to process this anger the boy projects, in relation to what the current situation is.
Felwinter stands purposely in front of Ash and Pikachu now, as though trying to shield them from the continuing attacks going on against the massive creature. He would rather have the two angry at him than potentially injured, or worse. He wouldn't be surprised if Pikachu attempted to shock him for Ash's sake, but he won't leave them here.
Stooping, the Exo gathers the two in his arms.
"...I am sorry."
For once he wishes that maybe he could make himself sound as sincere as normal Exos.
If no attempts are made to stop him, he will move to vacate the area with them.

What happens outside the fiery inferno is remarkably hard for Wesker to pick up on from his current position, so he fails at picking up on Reeve's question. But the beast's shuddering caused by the man's spells at least aren't missed. So someone is still attacking the thing. Good.
Or maybe it's less good for Reeve since Wesker is stuck in a defensive position and can't quite keep the Dragonfly's focus on him. Which means the monster, now standing surprisingly stable on its comically thin legs, turns to the spellcasting man and unleashes a steady stream of fire in Reeve's direction, burning claws raised threateningly.
no subject
Oddly, Pikachu understands the sentiment of the others better than Ash ever could. Maybe because he is a mouse type and he's had to run from larger, bird types or snake types but that was all before Ash. However, he knows how upset Ash is about this and won't help hurt the creature anymore than he's already done.
He also pointedly doesn't shock Felwinter and just nuzzles close to Ash to try and keep him distracted, and later, once they're pulled back from the fight, to keep him calm.
no subject
AT least he's smart enough not to try and beat it out, instead casting an ice spell near his leg to help it.
"Fuck," he curses, a rare thing for him. "I'm down for the moment!"
Hopefully this much Wesker can hear, because Reeve will need a few to work through the pain before he can continue his part of the assault.
no subject
He can hear Wesker and Reeve resume the battle and takes the opportunity of distraction to gather up the young Pokémon trainer and Pikachu, launching himself into the air to glide to a safer distance. From there once he lands, he'll continue on foot until he can get them to a place away from the direct sight of fight.
"Take care of him," he informs Pikachu, even though he knows it unnecessary.

Using his hold on the monsters remaining wing to push himself forward, Wesker springs out of his crouching position and back into action, darting straight for the back of the Dragonfly's head why ignoring the lasting flames. As long as he moves, he will be fine. Shortly before running into the monsters head Wesker leaps up and after a forward flip brings the heel of a booted foot down hard onto its skull, resulting in a pained shriek as well as a pretty rewarding crack as the creature tumbles forward yet again, its flames going out at last when it hits the ground, once again stunned.
With the Dragonfly going down, Wesker has no other option but to follow suit, doing his best to catch his fall in a roll over the monsters head and into the dirt in front of it. Not the most glamorous maneuver but he manages to not break his neck. He pushes himself back onto his feet and casts a look around, aware that Reeve can't be far. After spotting the man where he had sought cover, Wesker gestures with one hand for him to stay there since the Dragonfly is starting to pick itself back up.
"I guess you don't happen to have a rocket launcher on you." Wesker voices his annoyance with the situation and proceeds to pick up a nearby rock to haul at the large insect to make sure its attention is back on him.
