March catch-all
WHO: Link and you!
WHERE: Temba (in the Agriculture building, Spidersilk factory, and all over the shopping and transportation district)
WHAT: Link gets his expertise, collects spidersilk, looks for a book, and tries to figure out how to climb with a paraglider much bigger than he's used to
WHEN: Throughout March
WARNINGS: None yet!
I. Agricultural datapoint | Yellow 01 (Agriculture Building)
After Lark mentioned the agricultural datapoint - and the fact that it would let him know how to make things like the anti-spider elixir - it had taken Link approximately half a second to decide that he wanted it.
So he'd made his way to the Agriculture Building. Which was fascinating on it's own - there were plants, and they were growing inside!. But then he found the floaty light and touched it - and suddenly he knew what all of the plants were.
Which meant, of course, that Link then had to run up and down through the entire building, looking at everything. And as he looked at the plants, he would just know how to cook them. Which of course meant he had to take some of them, already making plans for all of the dishes he could make...
II. Collecting spidersilk | Orange 20 (Factory)
Put on the salve. Don't kill the spiders. Get their silk.
This was the task Link was here for, ready to take on the spiders. Or not take on, since Lark had been very insistent about not killing them. Just in case, though, Link had found a broken-off piece of door, which was now serving as makeshift shield.
He also has four small dead mammals, there as gifts to the spiders. A bit strange, Link thought, to be giving gifts to spiders. But Lark seemed to think it was a good idea.
Anyone passing by at this time might spot Link going in - or spot him coming out. Over the next few hours, he'll come in out out repeatedly to add to a growing pile of spidersilk he's building just outside the factory door.
III. Searching for the book | Pink (Shopping and Transportation district)
Find a red book, with a star. One that apparently had some kind of enchantment or curse, if you read it.
Tony said it was somewhere between the Hangar and the Train station. It took him a little while to figure out what a 'train station' was. But eventually he figured it out. And now he's looking everywhere between the two.
And everywhere means everywhere. He looks under every rock. In every bush. Every rabbit or rabbit-like-creature hole. And then when he's done that, and still found nothing, he starts looking through all of the nearby buildings. The little shops, some still standing and some not. The really big shop - which Link finds a bit strange, because how could anyone have a shop that big?
Ooh, and a tunnel. That's interesting. For a while Link gets distracted by exploring that, though eventually there's a dead end with a big metal door that he can't get through. Maybe somewhere else there's a hidden key, that will open it up...
IV. Who made this paraglider so big? | Any tall building in Temba
So Link has a paraglider now. Tony said Link could take it, so he did. Only problem is, it's...not really the kind of paraglider Link was expecting.
Namely, it's huge. Far, far bigger than Link's own paraglider, which doesn't really extend all that far beyond the width of Link's hands. Which means Link now has a problem.
How in Hylia's name is he supposed to climb with it?
So he tries to fold the massive paraglider up, best as he can. He manages to fold it up so the wings aren't outstretched, but it still isn't small. Then ties the whole thing to his back, which doesn't work very well because the thing is still twice as long as Link is tall.
Then with this very much not ideal solution in place, he finds a large building and...tries to climb.
It looks very, very awkward.
V. Wildcard!
[[OOC: Choose your own adventure! Let me know if you'd like to set up anything not covered by the above]]
VI. BONUS aka Obelisk ping pong
The obelisks were strange. And unsettling. Not least because when curiosity brought Link closer to them, he soon realised that the Sword that Seals the Darkness was glowing.
The Sword, which Link knew only shone with a bright blue light in the presence of evil, and dark forces.
Link didn't know what these obelisks were - but obviously they were bad news. Except as he tried to move even closer - close enough to swing the Sword and strike the obelisk down - he just...couldn't. Some invisible force seemed to push him back, no matter how hard he tried.
Okay. Stop a moment. Try to find another solution. He can't get close. But that doesn't mean he can't attack from afar...
Eyes narrowed, he focused on the obelisk. Draws back the Sword. And swings, releasing forth a spinning beam of blue light that hurls towards the obelisk.
Which then hits the obelisk, and ricochets back.

"How are you going to defeat architecture with a sword? I mean, clearly your little magic energy thing didn't work."
no subject
"No one gave me bomb arrows," he says. Because that was his other idea. An idea that had gone absolutely nowhere.
no subject
"Dangerous shit to want," he points out, though he does take a step forward. "That's all you want? It brought down?"
no subject
But he nods, all the same. Yes, he does want the obelisk brought down.
no subject
With that he raises his hands toward the things and they blur in the air, fuzzing around the edges as the air before him almost ripples, like with a heatwave.
And the obelisk, much to Tommy's consternation, starts to jiggle. Really, it's almost like a mountain of black jello. Which is fucking weird.
no subject
And he's not sure how exactly they're making the obelisk jiggle - really nothing to do with these obelisks seems to make any sense - but for the moment, the blurry hands are most definitely the focus of Link's attention.
He moves closer towards Tommy, staring at the hands with clear fascination.
no subject
"IT's like fucking jello!" he growls, even with his hands still moving. He can't get enough purchase on the cellular structure to fuck this thing up! "What the hell!"
no subject
He looks back at Tommy. "This is why I wanted bombs."
no subject
no subject
"...Waving your hands makes things explode?"
no subject
no subject
"Maybe needs bigger explosions?" he suggests. Although where they'd get those, Link has no idea.
He misses having bombs.
no subject
no subject
He looks at the obelisk. There has to be some way to destroy it.
"...Maybe fire?"
no subject
Most flammable things are also very good at exploding.
no subject
"...You can wave your arms to make fire too?"
no subject
Even wood can explode after all.
no subject
(Also, Link might just want to see how he does it. Just a bit.)
no subject
"If you get wood I can try. But that thing won't burn from my powers. Still uses the same sort of power."
no subject
And then he runs off. To get some wood, of course. If Tommy waits around, he'll be back in around twenty minutes with a few bundles of wood in his arms.
no subject
"So, you know somewhere we can get wood?"
no subject
That...was not something he was expecting.
(How does he not run backwards into something?)
"At my place," he says. Because see, his hoarding tendencies are useful.
no subject
"Alright then. Where do you live?"
no subject
no subject
"Want a lift? I can get us there faster. If you've got a strong stomach."
Some people just got queasy. They were less fun to carry unless they were in a true emergency.
