Good day all. Spring seems to have come and I would like to do a minor recruitment. This is a good season for building, and if you wish to assist it would be appreciated.

First, I need help with making bricks, a good bit of them. I have supplies and instructions, and will happily accept takers who want to assist Mini with them. The good news is that it's quite possible to talk while doing it, so it can be a social thing if you wish.

Second, there's that hole at The Deep End that needs properly patched. I have the supplies, they were prepared this winter. I need assistants in moving them, and in patching. This one is potentially a touch more dangerous, so keep that in mind.

Finally, after what happened with the blizzard, I feel it is important for us to make emergency supply boxes and stock them. I would appreciate volunteers to help me construct, place, and fill the things. We'll need blankets, first aid supplies, non-perishable food, and of course means of starting fires or building temporary shelters.

Please respond with any potential interest you have. Forgive me if there are any delays in my response, I'm currently working on bricks with Mini.

How many were you thinking of making?

And did you decide on where to keep them? Like what we can use as shelters?

At least a dozen, perhaps more. And I want to keep them in places that are secure but accessible. Not the hotel or diner though. Those places are supported on their own.

Makes sense. In a way, the shuttle hangars would be, too... though, the shuttles could always lose power, so I guess that wouldn't count as much. But that would be a good place to keep some of the packs.

I feel the hangars might not be a bad idea. The shuttles have no power when the storms come, so it's useful there too. I would hate to think people had been trapped there in the blizzard.

[Which they unfortunately had.]

Yeah. I mean, people were trapped all over. I was lucky that I had Kosmo. He can teleport two people with him. So, we were able to move around a bit instead of being trapped. But, a teleporting wolf isn't exactly common, even back home.

No, very uncommon. And so we must account for the needs of those around here. The ones who don't have teleporting wolves.

Exactly.

[Keith nodded.]

I'm really lucky to have Kosmo for a lot of reasons, honestly.

[Yes, for many reasons indeed. And Reeve was glad for him to have that. And to have the man that Reeve was given to understand was his spouse.]

Uncomplicated love of an animal can be pleasant.

Yeah. He helps in a lot of ways.

[Keith rubbed his hands through the thick fur around Kosmo's neck, and the wolf wagged his tail happily, tongue hanging out.]

Do you have a pet?

Here? Not really. There is Mini C, but he is hardly a pet in any sense of the world. More like a friend and a personal assistant.

Mini C? [Keith considered the description.] Like a bot or something?

Not quite. There's magic involved.

Sounds a bit familiar... magic and technology sometimes go hand in hand.

[Altean tech was a big example of that with how it used quintessence.]

It does not go hand in hand often for us. I'm intrigued that you have such in your world.

[tempredmental]

Yeah. The Alteans are able to use something called quintessence. It's kind of a life energy or force. They can channel it to help power technology. The way they do it is a mix of science, magic, and tech. It's pretty over my head, to be honest.

Reeve shuddered to even think of that.

"Yes, that does sound like burning Mako. I hope their methods were... less destructive than ours."

[tempredmental]

"Probably? I mean, they were successful, anyway. Like, they made a castle that could turn into a spaceship." He shrugged. "Along with a bunch of lion shaped robots that could transform and combine together to make a bigger human shaped robot."

What? Reeve just stares at that. It seems...

"Isn't that inefficient? Both as a castle and a vessel? Unless it was a space castle."

And only meant to be that.

[tempredmental]

"Mmm..." Keith shrugged a little. "I mean, if anything, you didn't have to pack your stuff for a long trip. You could just take the whole castle. And it came in handy as a base of operations for us when we needed to keep moving. Sometimes, keeping it one place for too long made it too easy to track us down."

Like when Zarkon kept chasing them around the galaxy by tracking the Black Lion...

Yes, but fuel inefficiency. Can no one see that?

"I suppose that is an argument. I am certain they made the wisest decision."

His tone says he disagrees.

That was where the quintessence came in, but Keith wasn't sure how to explain that part.

"You don't think so?"

[plate_builder]

Reeve sighs and shakes his head.

"No, I don't. But my people are not truly spacefaring yet so it is not for me to judge."'

[tempredmental]

"I guess." Keith looked thoughtful for a moment. "I mean, the ship itself was already ten thousand years old by the time we were using it. It was durable, at least. Not that it didn't get damaged in battles and stuff. We definitely had things to repair to get it moving and all that after it had been sitting for so long, and then things to fix after fights."

"And you had someone to teach you how to repair alien technology? Intriguing."

Though he supposes it's better as a means of travel than a meteor.

Keith nodded.

"The grandson of the person who built the castle was with us," Keith said. "It's kind of a long story, but he was the royal consort, and he'd been cryogenically frozen in the castle along with the princess in an effort to save them when they're world had been under attack."
