Good day all. Spring seems to have come and I would like to do a minor recruitment. This is a good season for building, and if you wish to assist it would be appreciated.

First, I need help with making bricks, a good bit of them. I have supplies and instructions, and will happily accept takers who want to assist Mini with them. The good news is that it's quite possible to talk while doing it, so it can be a social thing if you wish.

Second, there's that hole at The Deep End that needs properly patched. I have the supplies, they were prepared this winter. I need assistants in moving them, and in patching. This one is potentially a touch more dangerous, so keep that in mind.

Finally, after what happened with the blizzard, I feel it is important for us to make emergency supply boxes and stock them. I would appreciate volunteers to help me construct, place, and fill the things. We'll need blankets, first aid supplies, non-perishable food, and of course means of starting fires or building temporary shelters.

Please respond with any potential interest you have. Forgive me if there are any delays in my response, I'm currently working on bricks with Mini.

I guess as long as you're using that cured wood you've been storing that should work.
The kits are simple enough.
I have enough sparklers to make a dozen, roughly, depending on how I ration out the magnesium.
How many supply boxes do you plan to make?

You can turn sparklers into fire starters? Oh dear, I never even thought of that.

I do not know yet. I went them spread around the town, so people who aren't by the diner or other already prepared places can find shelter.

I wouldn't have expected you to think about it.
Otherwise you would've just done it yourself.

You'll want to place them roughly equidistant while avoiding oversaturation so that resources aren't wasted.
Take into account the worst possible conditions (the recent storm is a good benchmark) and average walking speed.

I got thirty four, but I agree. Though we must remember that we only have about twelve to work with, as you noted only a dozen fire starters were really possible.

Point is, we don't have the resources available to stock all of them equally.
I could substitute other materials to create single- or limited-use kits for the ones that are in areas less likely to get used.
The other chemicals in the sparklers could be dumped into those.

Possibly. For now I'd want to focus most heavily on the twelve that are going to have the best solutions. Maybe when we have them completed and can explain what their purpose is to the Agrii, they will give us more materials to make additional ones.

Whatever - I can at least make what we have, and we have reasonable backups for when the Agrii inevitably fuck up and give us the wrong thing.
