Video
[ A hooded figure shows up on the feed. There's a staff at his back. A wide smile in greeting while giving a small tentative nod. He's not used to this kind of communication. ]
I go by Crystal Exarch. I am new to this world and have been wondering if there's any additional information gathered. Any who wish to share that kind of information would be listened to and greatly welcomed. I have a few other questions as well. Forgive me for being a bit... off on communicating in this matter. I'm used to more personal interactions.
The questions I have are hopefully simple and easy to answer. Is there a library or a research facility that one can go to? I would be greatly interested in keeping up with doing anything study wise. If there isn't any of those things here, what do you all do in your free time? Has the Agrii returned or reached out for help? Has there been any recent storms on Agra 10?

Voice;
[ Does it really matter what they were? ]
Our survival is important. But what are you doing for yourself?
[ Not that it's selfish, sometimes people have their own motives. Sometimes they even need time for themselves. ]
Eventually. Why not today or tomorrow?
Voice;
[What is he doing for himself, though. It's a good question. One he doesn't want to answer truthfully.]
Who says that I am not keeping everyone alive for my own sake? I can sense everyone here. I do not wish to sense anyone's death.
[The desire is genuine, but what he's doing for himself is more or less just wearing himself out. No fire that couldn't be put out would occur if he took a breather, probably, but...]
And the knowledge will be there when I wish to seek it. It doesn't matter as of right now.
Voice;
[ He can't help but ask a few questions to come to a more understanding of what he's hearing. ]
Do you sense when other's leave? And how do you sense them? [ He's not really sorry for the questions since he hasn't encountered anyone who could sense others in that matter. He's genuinely curious. ]
The knowledge could be easily missed too if there's a tight window of opportunity to gain that knowledge. How are you so sure it doesn't matter?
Voice;
As I once told my apprentice, there are as many different Sith philosophies as there are Sith. Some hold hope, I'm sure. Others are have ambition as their guide. Some have been in the dark so long that all emotion has burned away and they move for a singular goal. Other Sith again are creatures of entitlement, rage, insanity, hate.
[Not that he agrees with every aspect of being Sith. But he does know all sorts.]
The Force itself however, is all-together balanced- a bit much to ask the energy that binds the galaxy together to pick a side, don't you think?
[The Force probably has a will, but wondering whether it's good or evil is useless. The Force just is.]
I haven't until now, but the energy when someone leaves and the energy when someone dies are vastly different.
[He should know.]
Perhaps there is knowledge disappearing little by little. But it doesn't matter because I care for the people here more than I care for scraping through the dirt for any information that we do not currently have.
Voice;
What do the Sith gain in return for their studies? What is their ultimate goal in the long run? If you have too much Light in one area, it's best to get Dark to balance it. I would think that it would be balanced in some way. Otherwise you could end up bringing forth destruction.
I would certainly hope that it does feel different. Since death is different from leaving. But if you know when one were to leave from the planet, you would be able to at least alert us. There could be a connection or maybe none at all.
[ Ah, if this were video Altair would be seeing a giant grin. ]
What if that knowledge were finding a way back home? You've been solely focused on making sure people survived here but you weren't continuously searching for a way back. I'm sure the people here would want to find any kind of knowledge that would grant them that. How are you so sure that information doesn't exist here? Unless many have already gone on searches and came up empty handed.
You can still provide for the people while also trying to search for answers.
Voice;
[It's asked in idle curiosity. He doesn't particularly mind the conversation, either.]
Different Sith have different goals. Some seek total control of the galaxy, people in chains, aliens such as myself scraping endlessly through the dirt and dying at their pleasure. Some seek the destruction of the Jedi and the Republic they are sworn to defend. Some seek knowledge without a clue in their head as to what to do with it. Others still, seek stability for the Empire and its citizens. I find that whether someone is Sith, Jedi, or anything else, the world is only truly in balance when they have the ability to seek their own dreams and follow their own hearts.
[Perhaps a strange view for a Sith to hold.]
As for sensing who leaves... I'll consider doing so. Reaching so far won't be too taxing, I suspect.
[He hopes. He's already so tired, so burned out.]
... No, I was not. But there are only so many hours in the day, and I'm...
[He trails off. There seems to be a story there, and not the nice sort.]
Voice;
[ That wasn't a lie at all. There will be many people here with different cultures. If they get antsy in not wanting to tell him something, he would let them tell him when they are ready. ]
I would seek a way back home. Even if it were to mean taking my time from actually doing things that I have not done in a long time. I know there are many different things that I can do while being here. Yet I've been gaining knowledge and theories for so long while providing tales of hope to those in need of it.
You do not have to start today, but when you feel up to it. I do not want to push you into something you actually do not want to do.
It almost sounds as if you are making an excuse. If I have struck a chord than we do not need to continue on the talk of discovery. And you can tell me things when you are ready to. I'm used to hours of doing research and coming up empty handed. But I have not given up on hope to find what I need to seek.
[ There's a pause before his voice is soft with the next line of speak. ] If you could live indefinitely, what would you do?
Voice;
[Well, it is big, but they are few. Chances are, they will speak again. Perhaps even meet in person, some day.]
... Perhaps. [He kind of is. But he doesn't want to talk about why with a more or less total stranger.]
To live indefinitely is something many Sith seek. Perhaps I will too, when the hour grows desperate enough. For now, it is not something I wish for. I have seen the cost of immortality, and it is far too great.
Voice;
[ There's things that he doesn't feel comfortable talking to total strangers with. There will come a time where his tale and own story will be known to someone. ]
Is it now? I'm sure knowing the knowledge of living that long could make someone more willing to do things with their time. It is not for everyone considering the consequences that come with living for so long.
Voice;
[Most likely. After all, they're all relying on each other here. Whether they want to or not.]
It is not for me, certainly. There is a wealth of knowledge out there, enough to fill countless lifetimes, and they would certainly keep me occupied... But I still would not desire it. My world is my friends. And I could not take seeing them grow old and die.
[Plus he has seen the price. He's not willing to pay it.]
Voice;
[ There's truth in Altair's words. He awoke to a death that he was then trusted to make sure that it didn't happen. ]
Many generations can go on by. However, if you have a cause or goal to do you'll not think about that. When your mind is set on something you may be the only one to actually do that thing. I do understand that friends mean a lot. If you were to have come to know that someone who inspires is dead. You know that they are the only hope to save your world. What would you do in order to save them?
Voice;
[The tone of his voice suggests that he's not entirely serious here. It really does depend on the Sith Lord in question.]
I would do anything to save any of my friends. Regardless of whether they are someone integral to the future of the world or not. Any fate's grand design can take a hike, no one I love will ever die so long as I draw breath.
[Stubborn.]
Voice;
[ His voice is still calm and not threatening in any matter. He doesn't sound as if he's caught Altair in any trap either. If anything, he's pointing out what he's hearing. ]
All of these words is what makes a hero. I'm sure if you were from my world, that's the role you would play. Someone that will give a helping hand to those in need of it. Not one that would use it against them.
Voice;
[He sighs.]
If my desire to protect is selfishly motivated, does that place me in the role of a hero, or a villain?
[He feels like they've gone somewhat off topic here, but... Honestly he doesn't mind it. Despite his initial... Irritation, he supposes, it's turned out to be almost like one of his conversations with Ashara.]
Voice; (private)
Well, if we're coming this far into questions. Everyone can be selfish for their own reasons. You are choosing to still protect people or innocents versus ruthlessly wanting to hurt or kill them. You would fall into the hero role but some might not see it in that matter.
If you start threatening lives for selfish reasons that would be more villainy. I have been told actions that my dear friends were doing were villainy with bringing back the darkness after living in primordial light for a century. They eventually took on being called Warriors of Darkness. The Crystarium and Norvrandt see them as heroes.
Do you find your own actions to be villainous?
Voice; (private)
[Listen, of course he'll take a moment to talk about Ashara like that. He loves her, after all. She's amazing.]
I do not know.
[Truthfully. He... Struggles a lot with light and dark, really.] I think some of my actions must be evil. I think some are good. Sith are encouraged to force their will upon the galaxy. Sith consider conquest their birthright, and all that is not of the dark side is to be burned away, leaving only hatred behind.
[Some of them take that very literally. Altair knows that very well.]
I am not a villain. I am not a hero. Though there are those who would see me as both.
