[The video comes on and Noctis isn't looking at the camera. But he's standing and a loud thud is heard as it sounds as if something heavy just dropped. So the king sighs with a shake of the head.]

Damn it. Anyone have any idea how to secure stuff on the walls? This one thing I keep thinking is secured keeps falling down.

[Right after he says that something else is heard, presumably falling down too.]

Yup, could definitely use some advice here.

"Oh ya here it comes." Noctis replied when his dish was set down before him. "Smells great too."

It amused him that his enthusiasm for food hadn't waned even after death and he picked up his fork. Picking up a bite, the king popped it into his mouth and smiled.

After swallowing his bite he nodded, very pleased.

"This is really great."

[crystalmaster]

"Thanks!" Radley smiled. "This really did turn out good."

He ate happily.

"It really did." Noct replied, eating another forkful of the stuff. Man this was good. "Can I write this stuff down after dinner? For the measurements and all that?"

Food first, everything else could wait.

[crystalmaster]

"Sure!" Radley said. "I planned on giving you the recipe."

[fatedsacrifice]

"Thanks." Noctis smiled as he kept digging in. He paused only to take a drink and that was about it. This gave him ideas to try and use his agriculture more often and take it more seriously.

"Can't wait to get more lessons."

[crystalmaster]

"I have a lot more plans for meals I can teach you," Radley said. "Desserts too."

[fatedsacrifice]

"Man..I'm looking forward to them."

Ignis would be horrified at hearing it, he was sure. But the chef wasn't here, so it was up to the king to make sure that he and Gladio ate, and not at the diner all the time.

"For today's dessert, a red velvet cake," Radley said.

[fatedsacrifice]

"A red velvet cake?" Noctis asked in surprise. The king was smiling, but still he shook his head. "Man I feel spoiled."

[crystalmaster]

Radley smirked. "Good. Everyone should feel spoiled sometime."

[fatedsacrifice]

There was another laugh and he continued to eat some more. But then Noct paused. "When you cook, do you always include dessert?"

[crystalmaster]

"For special meals," Radley said. "Of course, back home I cooked dessert every day since people at the diner would request it.... And since every meal was special there."

"Then you must know how to make a lot of desserts." Oh boy, Noctis felt like he was diving into a treasure filled quest to get all sorts of different foods under his belt. If he could learn to cook half as decent as Radley, he and Gladio would definitely benefit.

Radley grinned. "A pretty good amount, yeah."

[fatedsacrifice]

"One day I'll know a lot too. But in the meantime, I'm gonna enjoy yours."

Noctis didn't feel like he'd ever be on Iggy's level of cooking, but he sure wanted to try.

After the main course was enjoyed, Radley started laying out the ingredients for the red velvet cake. He began putting it together, demonstrating each step.

Noctis attempted to take notes although he wasn't sure he had all of the measurements right. Still, he paid attention and shook his head.

"I've never had this before."

[crystalmaster]

Radley planned to leave copies of the recipes.

"It's delicious, although I never have understood the purpose of it being red when it's chocolate," he said.

He got it into the oven. "We have to walk carefully while it's in or it might sink in the middle."

"Wait, it's chocolate? It's not the same color though." Noctis wondered aloud. But he took Radley's advice seriously. "I didn't realize that either. Guess I'm just gonna have to start writing stuff down or something."

This was great knowledge though. His blue eyes had stayed fastened on everything Radley did.

"Yeah, someday I'll have to research why the red," Radley mused. If he ever got home....

"For now ..." He started writing the recipe out.

[fatedsacrifice]

The king was trying to puzzle it together when he saw Radley writing stuff down.

"At this rate I'm gonna need to scrounge up a notebook so I don't lose all of this stuff."

So that would be a hunt for tomorrow.

[crystalmaster]

"Or a binder," Radley mused. "Are things like that obtainable here? It was hard getting paper."

[fatedsacrifice]

He shrugged. "I really don't know. But I got extra loads of food that I gave to the diner so I can take a little bit of time tomorrow to scout around for it. If that doesn't work, I guess I might be able to use my replicator. Never really used it for anything."

[crystalmaster]

"Cool. Yeah, I haven't tried the Replicator. I wonder if any of the food originally came from it...." Radley frowned, pondering that query. Oh well, at least the food tasted fine.

[fatedsacrifice]

"I really wouldn't count on that." Noctis replied. "But it's something we can try I guess. Wonder if it'll replicate the stuff you're making here at some point."

Not that it would be as good.
