[There's a loud metallic ring, the sound of something heavy hitting another. Quick breaths and the sound of hurried footsteps through the underbrush accompany the brief glimpses of a silhouette interspersed by darkness, and on occasion the moon above.]

Back off!

[Boy, "Steven" sounds a bit more intense but anyone probably does after being chased by moving plant monsters. He's even lost his accent. With no clear direction of the tablet save that it's held, there's nothing but a vague blur and the sound of something snarling and getting hit. Movement again. Things black out and silence for a pregnant handful of minutes before eventually the video comes alive again.

Marc tries to catch his breath, having found shelter somewhere indoors. He looks to be leaning on the handle of a shovel.]

...so...anyone got a chainsaw or somethin'?

I don't usually stick around long enough to find out. A machete sounds way more useful than a shovel. I'm definitely not here to garden.

[He pauses, grimacing at the sound of thumping against a door.]

Probably better you stay put. These things are real rough. ...wonder if there's a way to get across the rooftops...

[Radley is shocked by the thumping.]

That's a plant?!

[Weirder and weirder....]

Yeah, apparently! You haven't seen 'em? Look and move more like some kind of wolf or something. Not a fan.

[crystalmaster]

... I haven't seen that kind, no.

[And now he probably will. The irony of life....]

They sound terrifying. Do they bite?!

[knightlyperformance]

They move in packs- my advice? Avoid them as much as you can.

[He makes a face.]

-I am not about to find out.

[crystalmaster]

Oh, don't worry, I will!

[If he can....]

Yeah, I don't recommend trying to!

That's the plan anyway.

[crystalmaster]

Yeah, these things probably mess with any plans we have. They're already doing that just by being around.

[He sighs.]

Have you learned anything about the plants in general?

[knightlyperformance]

[Marc shakes his head.]

Aside from that some of them are vicious? Not really. Been a little busy with "weeding."

[crystalmaster]

Same here. I think that's the case with everyone. I wonder how we're ever gonna get rid of them for good....

[knightlyperformance]

I sure hope so. I don't think the plants are an improvement from before, that's for sure.

[crystalmaster]

... What disaster happened before this?

[knightlyperformance]

Huh? Oh, nothing big really. I haven't been here that long though.

[crystalmaster]

I've been hearing that it's one problem after another.

[knightlyperformance]

Yeah, I heard something like that. Plant explosions somehow didn't factor into that, but I guess this effectively counts as a problem.

[crystalmaster]

Yeah, I'd say so. Especially since some of them seem to want to get rid of us!

[knightlyperformance]

Just what we need.

[crystalmaster]

I wonder if anyone with Expertise knows anything more....

[He isn't comfortable with what seems like having his mind taken over, so he doesn't want to give in and get an Expertise himself.]

Not exactly my own field of expertise there, if you know what I mean. I haven't tagged anything myself to know how those work, but you know...

[He gestures loosely about his head.]

Yeah. I'm not crazy to find out. I'd feel like my mind wasn't really my own anymore.

[He's got enough of those kind of problems without any alien tech.]

I hope we won't end up feeling forced to do it if it seems like the only option left. I wonder how many have done it and how many haven't.
