[There's a loud metallic ring, the sound of something heavy hitting another. Quick breaths and the sound of hurried footsteps through the underbrush accompany the brief glimpses of a silhouette interspersed by darkness, and on occasion the moon above.]

Back off!

[Boy, "Steven" sounds a bit more intense but anyone probably does after being chased by moving plant monsters. He's even lost his accent. With no clear direction of the tablet save that it's held, there's nothing but a vague blur and the sound of something snarling and getting hit. Movement again. Things black out and silence for a pregnant handful of minutes before eventually the video comes alive again.

Marc tries to catch his breath, having found shelter somewhere indoors. He looks to be leaning on the handle of a shovel.]

...so...anyone got a chainsaw or somethin'?

Yeah, sure. Just, you know- trying to keep from getting eaten by plants. Practically normal these days.

[Radley sighs.]

Yeah, no kidding. It feels like we're never gonna solve this one....

I mean, I got a few ideas but I'm pretty sure we don't need to set the whole city on fire.

Yeeeah, we don't wanna wreck what's already been done to try to put this place together. Any other ideas?

Well you heard my request for a chainsaw, though I don't think there's going to be a line for that anytime soon.

I have something like a machete.... Does anything really cut them down for good, though? It seems like they keep growing back.

[knightlyperformance]

I don't usually stick around long enough to find out. A machete sounds way more useful than a shovel. I'm definitely not here to garden.

Where are you? If you're near me, I can come over.

[He pauses, grimacing at the sound of thumping against a door.]

Probably better you stay put. These things are real rough. ...wonder if there's a way to get across the rooftops...

[Radley is shocked by the thumping.]

Yeah, apparently! You haven't seen 'em? Look and move more like some kind of wolf or something. Not a fan.

... I haven't seen that kind, no.

Er- yeah never mind that, sorry. Just um. Never seen a...blue woman before. But hey, alien planet, different dimensions, yeah..?

Ah, yes. There are not many here who know of Kree, save from the ones from the Earth of my dimension. It gives many pause.

[At least he can deal with the blue now, and the tall later.]

I would not know how to answer you. I still do not know what a chain saw is.

It's a kind of tool- usually for cutting down trees. Heard of a saw? Well it's got the teeth but on a rotary kind of deal and it's a lot quicker.

Ah, like a laser scythe.

Laser scythe. Though these days they aren't quite as in use. We still use laser sickles for honor duels. My sister says humans don't perform honor duels anymore, though. Unless you are from a time when they do.

Dueling is kind of outdated back home, yeah. Well, outside of for sport- never mind that. We got laser scythes? That'll beat a shovel any day- where do I get one?
