Time for Tending Plants [Open]
WHO: Shiro and You!
WHERE: Temba
WHAT: Dealing with Plants
WHEN: Throughout Event
WARNINGS: Nothing yet, will update.
Oh What Insanity Is This
It was nice to be able to step off the ship and finally be back in Temba. While it wasn't actually home, it was nice to actually return to the place that had become sort of become home.
That's what he really would have liked to think. As he stepped out of the hangar and was able to survey Temba again, he was completely dumbstruck by everything that had happened. He just... stood there as he stared at it. The plants... there was just so much of it. It was everywhere...
"What the hell happened here? How long were we gone?"
Brave Explorer
Even though the urge to just stand and stare at the mess was really very tempting, it wouldn't do anything to make things better so finally, he went to find something that he could use to start cutting plants down. Dark that his new arm didn't have the same abilities as his old one and he couldn't just use THAT.
However, the metal arm did come in handy (ha) because he could use it to help push plants to the side with less worry about it actually hurting him. No feeling and very hard to damage helped like that.
But after working for a while, it didn't feel like they had really gotten anywhere. He grumbled before looking at the person next to him.
"How long have we been at this?"
Save the Glownie!
Shiro hadn't been planning on being out so late. He'd kind of lost track of time. One would say it was stupid for him to have been so careless as to forget about this part...
Shiro would call it a blessing though since as he was trying to find his way back, he stumbled upon a faint glowing light among the trees. Moving closer, he spotted one of the glownies that had wandered away from the its home in this mess. Maybe it smelled mint somewhere.
But that wasn't all he spotted. There was Thorntooth that was attempting to sneak up on it, ready for an easy target.
Shiro, of course, couldn't let that happen, charging to get to the Glownie first, having only a dinky weapon to try and delay it in his attempt to flee with the Glownie.
Bishop
Sorry, crew of the Bishop or anyone else who would be there, there is temporarily a Glownie wandering around on the ship one night...

Bishop
Sorry, crew of the Bishop or anyone else who would be there, there is temporarily a Glownie wandering around on the ship one night...

"Inside, inside," he said to the Glownie, ushering the small horse inside. It was more than happy at least to have feet on the ground again and hurried inside.
And with that, Shiro stood by the door, watching for Cal in case he was being trailed and needed to get inside quickly.
no subject
The young Jedi ran for the Bishop, boots pounding up the ramp as he caught Shiro's eye.
no subject
He stood with his back to the door as though that would help if something was trying to break in, catching his breath from adrenaline. Once he had caught his breath, he said, "Thanks again for the help. You alright?"
The Glownie was wandering in the hallway, curious as to where it was now.
no subject
"...glad to be of service," Cal replied breathlessly, his hands on his knees as he glanced over at Shiro. "Just...need to catch my breath. You?"
no subject
"Yeah, I'm fine. That little guy seems to be as well."
The Glownie was stopped as it spotted a reflection, standing in a slight crouch as it tried to assess what it was seeing.
"I'm Shiro."
no subject
"Cal. And this is BeeDee-One," he said, nodding at the little droid. BD-1 hopped around and gave Shiro a beep in greeting before borbling talkatively. "He says his scans aren't picking up anything right outside, so hopefully they've given up on us. Not that we're too keen on heading out there again."
no subject
"That's good. I hope so as well. I'll probably keep the Glownie here for the night and take him home tomorrow. So it doesn't cause anymore issues."
no subject
"But I'd have to agree. Don't think any of us will be going anywhere right now anyway. You don't mind, do you?" He doubted Shiro would kick them out, but he hardly wanted to assume.
no subject
He felt like this had been said to way too many people here.
"I don't mind. There's space here. I'm not going to kick you out."
The Glownie was wandering off down the hall now that it had seemingly confirmed the reflection was not a danger.
no subject
"Might want to make sure this ship's glownie-proof, although I doubt there's any real damage it can do." And there weren't any glitter dispensers on this ship, thankfully. "You don't have anything that explodes lying around, do you?" he said jokingly.
no subject
"Yeah, might want to do that. I don't think he's going to get too crazy. More... curious since as far as I know, they have never been on ship." He laughed at that part. "Me? No. Haven't seen anyone else with them either thankfully."
no subject
"Heh, that's good. Thinking about heading to the galley to grab some water and sit- how about you?"
no subject
"Sounds good to me. Let's head that way. Running from plant monsters is not exactly the pleasant thing to be doing."
no subject
He looked around as they made their way down the corridor. "It's been a while. This was the first ship I was assigned to," he said, reaching out to run a hand along the familiar walls. "Pretty sure plant monsters can't do much against a ship but then again you never know what kind of surprises this place has... Wish we had the chance to install weapons on these ships. At least they've got shields."
no subject
He nodded as they headed for the kitchen, the Glownie unintentionally leading the way as it happened to turn to head that way. Maybe it smelled something minty...
"They didn't seem like they would be strong enough to do that, but then again, hard to tell. The shields at least would help. Unfortunately, doesn't seem like there is enough supplies to try and outfit them with weapons."
no subject
"They didn't even have shields at first, not to mention the speed was subpar for what you'd expect of a star-traveling ship. We had the opportunity to upgrade them when we were called out to help the Agrii and ended up on their homeship. But we were unfortunately pressed for time and could only do so many things, so we figured shields and speed were the things to update while we could."
no subject
He smiled, watching as the droid climbed back onto him. Pidge probably would have been really interested in that droid. She liked all robots after all.
"I see. That makes sense... unfortunately. So you have been here for a while then."
no subject
He stepped into the kitchen, smiling crookedly as he watched the glownie poke around before he walked over to grab a couple of glasses to get some water. BD-1 hopped down onto the counter by the dispensers, pausing just short of tapping at a button when he caught Cal's look in his direction.
"Yeah, we have. Wouldn't be surprised if it's been over a couple years at least," the Jedi said, shaking his head. It was always strange to think about.
no subject
Shiro chuckled, watching as the Glownie began exploring the kitchen. It had likely never been in a kitchen before. This had to be rather exciting for it. New stuff to look at. When the droid hopped down and began moving around, the Glownie followed after it.
"I see. It has been a while for me... but I don't think it has been years."
no subject
BD-1 looked over as he found himself being the leader now. Experimentally he began to wander about the edge of the counter, glancing back every now and then at the glownie.
Cal stepped over to get the water dispensed once both were clear of it, turning to walk back over to Shiro, offering one of the glasses he held. "Probably better that way. Gets kind of depressing sometimes, remembering you've been here for so long and things...don't seem to have changed much. At least so far as getting to the bottom of the Agrii's problems, anyway."
no subject
Shiro chuckled as the droid ended up the leader of the parade. The Glownie began to follow the droid as it walked along the counter. What was this little thing looking for?
"Thanks," Shiro said, taking one of the glasses of water. "Yeah. It's rough being here for any length of time I think. Of course, even more so when you have been here longer, especially when you have things to do at home."
no subject
Meanwhile the droid had gone back and forth along the counter at least twice, looking back at the Glownie as he probably wondered the same. Box-like head tilting, BD-1 borbled inquiringly before hopping over to the water dispenser to push the button, sending a stream of water out.
Cal couldn't help but wince as BD-1 hit the button. "...at least that's not glitter," he muttered, recalling his buddy's exploits in the ship they'd been reassigned to. He turned back to Shiro, nodding. "But yeah... exactly. I think the only thing keeping me from worrying about that is that apparently whoever gets sent back from here is popped right back to the point they left off on. Which is...both a relief and weird, really. Complicated."
no subject
The Glownie was following the droid as it paced on the counter, clearly watching it. It was no mistake that it was going the same way. Oh look, water! The Glownie would lean up to try and drink the water from the dispenser as the droid pushed the button.
Shiro just shook his head as he watched. "Yeah, this place doesn't make much sense when we compare it to home. Everything happens here, but nothing has changed there."
no subject
See, BD-1 was totally helping! The droid beeped and continued to depress the button for the water to let the Glownie drink its fill. Cal sighed, but he still smiled fondly at the droid.
"That's going to be a mess. Sorry about that. I'll clean it up later," he said.
no subject
Shiro just chuckled, amused by the droid helping the Glownie get some water.
"It's fine. It's being helpful."
Finally the Glownie was done and moved away from the water, looking around the room.
