Closed; Space IKEA
WHO: Poe Dameron and Armitage Hux (if you want to join them for some reason give us a poke)
WHERE: Space IKEA
WHAT: Looking for parts
WHEN: Mid month-ish?
WARNINGS: More damn Star Wars, sorry
As per their agreement, Poe had met up with Hux to go in search of the parts needed to make a droid. After some asking around they had some idea of where to start, and while the space seemed run down, it did have a lot to offer.
Poe had his Agrii gifted backpack slug over a shoulder, ridiculous as it might look, it was useful, and it made him feel at least a little like BB-8 was there with him. The droid certainly would have been useful in working through this mess, Poe thought, climbing over some debris.
"What exactly am I supposed looking for?" he called to Hux.

"I'm pretty sure you deal with that among the Resistance as well. With the older generation verses your generation."

"Guess so. I'm a legacy kid like you though, so...maybe it's different for people who didn't grow up with it."

My father fled into the Unknown Regions and formed an Academy on Arkansis. Then when Arkansis was taken over by your people, a Bounty Hunter came to collect my father and I to the remaining survivors of the Empire. I had been four when this happened and had no say in the matter. They only wanted me because I was considered a tool to be shaped into."
Hux quietly explained. "The last time I was on my home planet was when I learned my mother had passed and I made an effort to go pay my respects to her. He never knew I found a way to keep in touch with her."

He frowned uncomfortably with the hard truth of Hux's upbringing. It was something he'd never given much thought to. He knew the First Order stole away children for their cause, but it had never really occurred to him that members such as Hux had essentially been stolen away themselves.
There was a particularly guilty expression on his face at the mention of Hux's mother.
"...You have a choice now," he offered.

He softly replied. "I also lost a lot of my men that day and have nothing to prove for their sacrifice or the sacrifice of the Hosnian System. I lost a lot of support that day."

He hesitated a moment, before volunteering- "...I wasn't lying before. When I said we had a message from her."
no subject
"Why would she reach you and how long ago was that?" he hesitantly asked.

The audio file had very nearly been lost,
"I didn't listen to it." That didn't seem right, it wasn't for him. "But Leia said your mother had been looking for you. And she wanted you to find yourself, and be happy. Not to follow in your father's footsteps."
no subject
He had searched long to try to reach her. He got in touch with some of the old staff that tried to help him find her. His father never knew of his searches, he had been careful to hide his tracks. He managed to talk to one of his mother's old friends. They had told her she was liberated and had passed away. Her body had been brought back home upon request. That was when Hux came to pay his respects.
But he never knew she had been looking as well. She had never given up on him and had tried to help him in her own ways. Admiral Sloane had been the closets thing as a mother figure for him since he left her. Yet, she was more of mentor then a mother. She had distanced herself in that aspect. He lost her too.
"....Why was nothing ever sent to me?" he asked when he felt capable of talking and his voice wouldn't break.
no subject
"No one knew where to send it at the time, and it got...filed away. And once you made a name for yourself...the First Order didn't take many transmissions from us. I think you only took mine because of how stupid it was for me to be out there in the first place."

Hux got up and straightened out his coat and uniform and grabbed his bag once more.
"Let's go....do you still need to stop by the hospital?"
no subject
He shook his head at the offer. "I'm fine," he insisted, "I'm a pilot. We're sturdy. Get blown up a lot."
no subject
Needless too say he was relieved once they got out of the buildings and back into familiar territory. He wanted to escape to his Power Plant and start sorting through his wares. He needed the distraction from everything they had discussed.
no subject
"...You gonna be okay?" he asked belatedly.
no subject
"I'll be fine....I've dealt with worse."
no subject
"...If you're sure." It was strange to think if things had gone just a little differently. Would Hux had left? If he had would events still have transpired as they had with him at the helm?
no subject
It was his way of saying things had been forgiven and he was starting to see him as a friend. He also found he enjoyed the other's company. It was also an attempt to change the subject he didn't want to dwell on.
no subject
"...I'll take you up on that," he promised with a small smile.
