001. ocean

Sansa doesn't know what she's meant to expect after following the strange beasts to the ocean but the grey blue waves and the soft sand is different than anything she ever saw in King's Landing. The ocean there had stunk with boats coming in and bringing their daily catch, dumping their bilge and filth, and Gods know what else. The whole of King's Landing stunk, actually, and she's glad to be away from it. It's different here. The wind has the sharp tang of salt and the whole of it makes her think this must be what the Iron Islands are like.

She walks to the edge of the water with a fistful of sand tightly clutched. She speaks softly, just loud enough to be audible, and says "What is dead may never die, Theon Greyjoy. You were my friend and I loved you." She tosses the sand into the water and wipes her hand clean. If anyone asks, the redness of her eyes is from the wind and nothing else.

002. caves

The caves are something else entirely. They're actually quite warm, warm enough that Sansa wishes she had not dressed so warmly, and once she gets deep enough into them she realizes there are hot pools in them the same as in the Godswood at Winterfell. It's something that might be of interest to Tyrion, considering his back and legs, and she decides she'll send him a message to tell him to come to her so that they can enjoy these pools for themselves.

For her part, Sansa slips off her shoes and rolls up the trousers she's favored since coming to Agra 10 so she can soak her feet in the water. When she hears footsteps echo behind her, she wants to yank herself from the water but forces herself not to.

"The water is warm, like a bath. Much better than that cold ocean."

003. For Tyrion

After discovering the caves, Sansa steps outside them so that she can send a quick message to Tyrion so he can meet her. She thinks they could enjoy themselves in the warm water, Tyrion especially, and she has news to tell him besides. She hadn't really been thinking when they came to Agra 10, caught up in other things, but she hasn't bled since before she came. Sansa may never have been pregnant before with Ramsay but she imagines she must be now; otherwise, something is certainly very wrong.

Tyrion - come to the beach. There are caves with hot springs and I very much want to show them to you. Love, S.

It hurts a little to hear that come out of Sansa's mouth, but it isn't as if this is a mindset Wanda's unfamiliar with. She learned that from her time with Strucker, and in some ways, Ultron.

"I think about it a lot. All of the things they could really want with us, what we can do to protect ourselves. I don't know what I'll do if they can do something to take my powers, but...maybe this place could help."

She reaches out to take Sansa's hand if she'll allow it. "I am not going to let anything happen to you, Sansa, not as long as I can still fight. I promise."

"And I will not let anything happen to you, Wanda. While I have breath in my body, I will not let anyone harm you. You mean too much to me for that to happen. Besides, Lady will have things to say."

The direwolf is currently playing on the beach at the moment but she is Wanda's friend and would tear out the throat of someone who threatened her or someone she loved.

"I don't think Lady is nearly as diplomatic as I am."

"Some people need a bite in the ass. At the very least." Because there are also plenty of people who really do just need their throats torn out by a direwolf. Strucker, for one, and so many people in Sansa's past. "I wouldn't trust someone Lady or Thistle didn't like. If we ever meet the Agrii I hope they are with us."

She sighs. "I think we are safe for now. I feel so many things, but nothing dangerous."

"My intuition hasn't tipped me off to anything dangerous as of yet. Annoying, certainly, but I've felt no danger here among the Agrii. At least they've brought us all together. Some are missing, yes, but I don't know what I'd do if you, Vision, and Tyrion weren't here."

Sansa knows she wouldn't be able to cope as well with this place as she has and she doesn't know what path she'd take. It's easier with her friends and husband beside her.

"Have you taken one of the specializations? I took agriculture."

Wanda seems to relax a little at that, sighing and plucking her shoes off with a few wisps of scarlet power so that she can dip her feet into the water. "If we have to be here, I'm glad we are together."

"I took communications again, like I did on the Fleet. They wouldn't give us the ships if we weren't going to use them, yes? So maybe I can get a message out, or find out where we really are."

"It's likely the best thing to do, try to reach someone and see if we can be rescued. This world is like building from the ground up, in ways, and I got used to a different life in the Fleet before going home again. It's going to take getting used to all over again to be in a place like this."

Sansa gives Wanda a bit of a shy smile. "I did have some news, though. I have to have it tested and Vision told me I needed to speak to a different doctor but...I think I'm with child. The signs are there."

Wanda's brain just sort of stops for a moment - wait, what - but life does, she supposes, go on, Agrii or not. "Sansa, that's wonderful." She grins. "We will find you a doctor. Someone must have taken the Medical point...and I will do anything I can. You only need to ask."

Everything in that building frightens her, given her history with 'doctors.' Distance from Earth hasn't changed that, but for Sansa's sake she can move past it to provide whatever support her friend needs.

"Are you feeling all right?"

"A little tired, is all. It hasn't really been very noticeable yet, honestly, so I can scarcely believe it's real other than the other signs I've noticed. It's so good to have something to look forward to," she admits.

"I've been a little down since we were stuck on our ships without being able to see our friends. I'm glad to be out and glad to have this happy news."

"You should still see a real doctor, but if you want to know now maybe I could sense...if you want me to," Wanda adds quickly. "If there is something to sense, I am sure I would know here."

She's never tried anything like this, of course. There's never been a reason to. But a mind is a mind, no matter how young, and this cave has her powers on overdrive. Surely she'd feel something.

"Oh, I didn't realize you could do such a thing," Sansa says, curious now. What must it feel like to know that there's life growing within a person, to be able to communicate with it while still in the womb? She cannot imagine.

"Yes, I want you to try if you want to do it."

"I have never tried but...I think there must be something to sense." Wanda's eyes unfocus as she reaches out, and though to most people this must seem unsettling, Sansa's been around her long enough that this shouldn't be unfamiliar territory.

The cave itself is a distraction and so Wanda first focuses in on Sansa herself, on everything that is familiar to her about her friend. From there...it's faint, and not something Wanda would have noticed if she hadn't actively been looking at it. "Hello," she murmurs with a grin. "I feel something. It is small, but...I think you are right."

The thought of it brings light to Sansa's eyes and color to her cheeks. It isn't just a woman's intuition, then, it's actually real. It's actually a child she's bearing for herself and for Tyrion.

"Oh, Wanda, how can I ever repay you? This is the greatest gift you could have given me, telling me this news. I don't even know what to say."

"You know...when the baby is a little bigger maybe I can show you what I feel. I only feel it now because I know you so well." Wanda grins. "I'm so happy for you."

And she is, truly. Sansa's been through so much and she deserves a chance for happiness, for a normal family life.

The idea of being able to feel what Wanda feels when she's interacting with her child is mind-blowing and Sansa has no idea how to react. Her face shows shock openly, something that hardly ever happens, and she reaches out to squeeze Wanda's hand.

"That would be the most beautiful gift anyone could ever give me. I couldn't...Wanda, that's amazing."

But for Wanda it's such a small, simple thing - one of the first things she'd ever learned to do, in fact. It's ironic how sometimes the less flashy aspects of her powers can be much more meaningful.

She squeezes Sansa's hand back, grinning. "The days are so long here that it's hard to tell time. But I think...maybe in what we would have called one or two months it will be easier for you to see what I do. When you see a real doctor you will probably have a better guess."

"Yes, I need to see one of those," Sansa says. "The one good thing is that medicine is better in these places than my own. Women die in childbirth easily in Westeros - Tyrion's mother did - but I think it's much less likely with the doctors here."

She hopes so, at any rate.
