002 ♕ lay me by the frozen river
WHO: Sansa Stark
WHERE: ocean, caves
WHAT: exploring
WHEN: throughout November
WARNINGS: sex in the Tyrion thread, others gen.
001. ocean
Sansa doesn't know what she's meant to expect after following the strange beasts to the ocean but the grey blue waves and the soft sand is different than anything she ever saw in King's Landing. The ocean there had stunk with boats coming in and bringing their daily catch, dumping their bilge and filth, and Gods know what else. The whole of King's Landing stunk, actually, and she's glad to be away from it. It's different here. The wind has the sharp tang of salt and the whole of it makes her think this must be what the Iron Islands are like.
She walks to the edge of the water with a fistful of sand tightly clutched. She speaks softly, just loud enough to be audible, and says "What is dead may never die, Theon Greyjoy. You were my friend and I loved you." She tosses the sand into the water and wipes her hand clean. If anyone asks, the redness of her eyes is from the wind and nothing else.
002. caves
The caves are something else entirely. They're actually quite warm, warm enough that Sansa wishes she had not dressed so warmly, and once she gets deep enough into them she realizes there are hot pools in them the same as in the Godswood at Winterfell. It's something that might be of interest to Tyrion, considering his back and legs, and she decides she'll send him a message to tell him to come to her so that they can enjoy these pools for themselves.
For her part, Sansa slips off her shoes and rolls up the trousers she's favored since coming to Agra 10 so she can soak her feet in the water. When she hears footsteps echo behind her, she wants to yank herself from the water but forces herself not to.
"The water is warm, like a bath. Much better than that cold ocean."
003. For Tyrion
After discovering the caves, Sansa steps outside them so that she can send a quick message to Tyrion so he can meet her. She thinks they could enjoy themselves in the warm water, Tyrion especially, and she has news to tell him besides. She hadn't really been thinking when they came to Agra 10, caught up in other things, but she hasn't bled since before she came. Sansa may never have been pregnant before with Ramsay but she imagines she must be now; otherwise, something is certainly very wrong.
Tyrion - come to the beach. There are caves with hot springs and I very much want to show them to you. Love, S.

Sansa makes certain to wait outside the caves so she can guide Tyrion once he arrives and when she spots him, she waves her arm so he might be able to see her at the mouth of the cave she'd explored.
"Here, Tyrion!"
no subject
His lips curled into a smile as he hobbled up to her. "Good day, lady wife! I hear there are warm springs to enjoy with you, and I come ... walking quickly."
no subject
Sansa isn't quite certain how to tell Tyrion the news she's carrying but she hopes something eloquent will come to her between now and the warm springs.

"I thought it might feel good on your back and legs to soak for a while. I didn't even get in before I contacted you - I wanted to share it with you for the first time."

"Seduce me? I don't think it's seduction when the other party wants it just as much," Sansa says, laughing a bit. She guides Tyrion through the caves toward a pool that is a little further back than the others. She prefers privacy and she knows Tyrion will want it as well once she's shared her news. She starts by toeing off her boots and working on her clothes, using it to stall for time.
"There's something I wanted to talk to you about, you know."

"Oh? What is that?"

ocean;
"Good afternoon," he greets her. "It's rather a nice change of scenery, is it not?"
no subject
"It's very nice, yes. The sea in Westeros isn't nearly as lovely as this one."
no subject
He holds out one hand, palm up, as if to catch the sun's rays and smiles. "And it is far better than being stuck on a ship again. You managed to survive it, I gather?"
no subject
"I managed, yes, but it was far from pleasant. I'm glad I have my freedom again, as is Lady." Sansa turns to look at Vision and tips her head a bit, curious. "I do have a question, though. Where I'm from, there's no way to know if you're carrying a child except to guess when you haven't had moonblood. Is there a way to test it here? Do you know a way with science to test it?"
no subject
But the twins.
But it's a different Wanda, with different powers, and Tommy had said it was Wanda's want that had channeled them into existence, and she doesn't want that badly enough here, now, to even consider it. He knows this.
And yet what does it say that it's the first thing that he thinks of when Sansa asks the question?
After a few seconds he gets his expression under control because, oh, right. This isn't about him. This is about her. About--
"My dear, do you think you--well. Yes, there are ways. I'm not sure what technology we have available here, but an ultrasound isn't terribly complicated and it's a way to know for certain. There's a Doctor Bashir who I was trapped on the ship with; he has the medical data point and he's from a society I trust. He would know if anything here is capable of telling it."
He catches his breath for a moment, a different concerned expression appearing. "Is--that is, would you be glad of such a thing?"
no subject
"It's what Tyrion and I wanted. We even talked about it in the Fleet, about trying when we returned home. It just...didn't happen. But it's happened here somehow, I think, and I want to tell him."
no subject
Okay, he's starting to get excited just thinking about it now.
no subject
"Thank you so much for your help. We have nothing like this in Westeros, as you can imagine. I'm just...I'm thrilled about it. I know it seems strange, a woman who wants nothing more than this, but it's something I can't have back home."
caves!
(Sure, the cave walls feel kinda strange, but she can mostly tune it out.)
"That might be the best thing I've heard in weeks. I have missed baths so much."
no subject
"I didn't get anything special by coming in here and look at you, all aglow like some maiden from a crib tale."
no subject
"How are you feeling? Is it bothering you?"
no subject
"No, I haven't felt anything. It looks beautiful, whatever it's doing to you, so if it doesn't hurt I feel all right about appreciating it. Do the Agra seem kinder to you than the Atroma were? Or do you think we're too hasty in making a judgment?"
no subject
A beat. Sansa is a safe person to confess this to, and so she continues. "...and I hurt someone, and it wouldn't have happened if they hadn't trapped and separated us."
And she's not entirely convinced that the 'cute and harmless' show the Agrii put on is nothing more than an act designed to get them to let their guards down. Whatever must have been done to bring them here was most certainly not cute and harmless...and the Agrii seem to know well enough to keep their distance. Try as she might, Wanda can't sense anyone else here, just people who are already accounted for.
no subject
“We mustn’t let our guard down, then, no matter how pretty our gilded cage seems at the moment. We have to remember to fight every battle, all the time, in our mind just so we are prepared.”
Sansa hates Littlefinger for what he did to her and her family but she cannot deny what she has learned under his cruel tutelage. She has to be ready for any and everything and she won’t let the Agrii hurt the ones she loves.
“I have more reasons to fight now, as well, so I will be fierce.”
no subject
"I think about it a lot. All of the things they could really want with us, what we can do to protect ourselves. I don't know what I'll do if they can do something to take my powers, but...maybe this place could help."
She reaches out to take Sansa's hand if she'll allow it. "I am not going to let anything happen to you, Sansa, not as long as I can still fight. I promise."

The direwolf is currently playing on the beach at the moment but she is Wanda's friend and would tear out the throat of someone who threatened her or someone she loved.
"I don't think Lady is nearly as diplomatic as I am."
