WHO: Viktor and you?
WHERE: Newly arrived at the fountain
WHAT: This doesn't look like Piltover
WHEN: Now (early April)
WARNINGS: None anticipaed

The sun was setting, casting the council chambers in a red glow. Viktor said nothing about it but as Jayce continued he couldn't help the feeling that there was something perverse in the making of the Kingdom of Zon. It was fueled by a drug kingpin (a drug you made use of his conscience mocked him internally) who had made a lot of money selling misery. Though, in his opinion, it could have been easily the same had it been the wealthier part of Piltover that was targeted. Having power was a human desire regardless of wealth.

Viktor didn't remember going to sleep, but that wasn't a surprise. He rarely remembered it if he had passed out at his desk. But he would have remembered it if he fell asleep anywhere that was outside? It was cool but not cold and he could hear a fountain burbling nearby. He came to with his crutch next to him and after sitting up and looking around for a moment he used it to lever himself to his feet. He saw no one else at first, but he did see the light floating next to the fountain. He watched it for a moment, charmed by its appearance. Then he reached out one hand to tentatively touch it. As soon as his fingers made contact, his brain was flooded with information. Startled, Viktor clutched his forehead for a moment feeling woozy from the influx of data. Agra-10. The Agri. Rebuilding a society. There was something about that last part that struck Viktor as particularly odd. Then again he did not have very good experience with society.

York had been wandering around like a teenager trying not to get caught doing something bad. His hoodie didn't smell terrible since washing it a little in the fountain (washing: dunking it in there and scrubbing at it with his hands before letting it dry out). Now he was back and paused.

Someone else was there now. Touching that same datapoint like he had. 'Well he handled it as well as a human could,' the android thought as he went over. No one else was around, might as well in for the 'welcoming committee' or whatever it was called. "Another new sack of skin for the decrepit city I see."

A glance down at the crutch with teal eyes. Didn't remark on it. "Gonna go out on a limb and say you're not from 2038 Detroit either."

Cayde-6 liked high places. You could see a lot of things, get around a lot quicker by cutting across rooftops, and of course, get a bit of a thrill from the jumps between and down them. The problem was there weren't a whole lot that were near each other, but the Exo made do.

The only sound that probably heralded his arrival was the snap and flutter of the ragged cloak he wore as it trailed after him, a silhouetted figure dropping down from the Civic Center. About three-fourths of the way down he gave himself another boost in midair, dramatically slowing his descent so he could land without breaking his legs, touching down neatly on the ground below.

He was going to go check on the planting that still needed to be done, or thought that it needed done. Either way, Terra was going to go get this accomplished. So he had to go near the fountain and see if he could grab some water from it. He'd brought some buckets and they were going right over to the greenhouse.

Terra was happy to help in this strange place of course and this task was just as important as any of the others he did. But just as he filled one of the buckets, he happened to look up and saw an unfamiliar person clutching at his head. His blue eyes noticed the data point and again looked at the person.

Halting his watering duties, he kept his distance for the moment. "Are you gonna be okay?"

He's seen androids missing sections of their shells, missing limbs, and other pieces. A cane was tame by comparison. He thought to himself how the Agrii would take anyone, but maybe this human wasn't brought here for physical labor. Maybe something more academically inclined.

He sat on the fountain edge, with his system finding the perfect balance so he wouldn't fall in. York regarded the other newcomer with a sort of haughty look. The man's clothes looked weird to him, but the accent… slight as it was, maybe German? There was no telling with people here.

"Earth, 2038. Detroit, MI, United States of America, North America, Earth," he clarified. Ironically, he said this while wearing an NYC hoodie. "But that’s not where here is, much to my fucking dismay."

"Yep!" Cayde replied, making a show of dusting himself off. "Well, unless you figure in that I'm kind of walking technology, sooo I guess it depends on what you're really asking.

He grinned, finally looking over before arching a brow, although he supposed he wasn't totally surprised it was someone unfamiliar to him. The voice had been new, definitely.

Terra nodded. Someone being alright after looking pretty not okay was a good sign. But he had to smile a little at the observation being made.

"It happens from time to time, and probably more often than I notice." He himself was one of those aforementioned bewildered looking strangers not too long ago. "But when people touch data points like you did, it takes a second to process the information being received, so that's normal."

As normal as normal got around here.

Well at least that put this newcomer out of the revolution's sight. Probably didn't have androids either wherever the fuck he came from. He snaps and points to Viktor, a smug smirk on his face. "Nothing gets past you I see. Which is impressive since I've seen threaded rods bigger than you." It was easy enough with a scan to see that the man was thin. He wondered briefly if that was healthy.

"Where are you from then? I already know it's not from here, this five star rated shithole of a city."

"Last time I checked, anyway," Cayde said with something of a shrug. He wasn't much of a fiery halo sword guy- sounded like a warlock thing. He was more prone to setting himself on fire.

"Whoa there, deep breaths. You're new in town, obviously."
buildingitsir: (level headed talking)

York prides himself on not being an expert on humans, okay, but even he knows this. "Nope, sounds like something out of a book if I'm honest. But maybe someone else already here knows of it."

A pause. "Whether or not that's a good thing though is a matter of perspective."

He shifts where he sits on the fountain. "I just arrived almost a week ago. Hope you don't mind a crumbled mess and aren't allergic to dust. Are allergies a thing for humans where you're from? I'm York Stark by the way."
orangewayfinder: (I stand alone)

He nodded again and gestured to the machine. "Ya, it has the same effect every time." Terra wasn't sure that it would ever change even with him. He used the piloting data point so that he could make sure he knew he knew what he was doing with the ship although he had been considering changing it to something else.

What that something else would be as of yet, he had no idea.

Terra shook his head. "Wish I could tell you it'd be different. But I take it you haven't found a place to stay?"
buildingitsir: (soft talking)

"I've explored a little. Mostly trying to figure out where other people are at," with the 'so I can avoid them' goes unspoken for now. He probably wouldn't be able to relate to anyone here anyways. It's difficult when you're not even a human to start with.

"Undercity? Like, a city inside of the ground, like in a man made cavern of some sort?" That perked his interest, if only a little. "As for the drinking water, I have no idea. I don't need it. There is a diner over there," and he jerked a thumb over his shoulder to indicate it's location.

"I presume you can get some water in there, probably food too."

He didn't even get that kind of look from freshly revived Guardians these days. Couldn't hurt to bask in it for a little.

"Pff, 'course I'm alive!" Cayde said, huffing a little as he folded his arms, although he still looked amused rather than annoyed. "Was that in the overview or something you came up with?" He jerked his head at the fountain and the orb bobbing there. "Name's Cayde."
buildingitsir: (fuck off; silently pissy)

Oh that was a good guess on my part; I'm canonblind af!

[personal profile] buildingitsir 2022-04-09 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's the next logical step. Nope, no food, no water, like a fake house plant. You look like you need to go to the diner before you go anywhere else, seriously. I've seen some bad off humans but you're taking a metaphorical cake right now."

Those teal eyes just watch Viktor. What a architectural marvel it had to be, to have a city within a cavern. There was nothing of the sort of Detroit. He had been impressed that the freighter that had housed Jericho had still been afloat in the harbor.

He tries not to think about the raid that cost him and everyone else their home. Of the ones that were still alive that is.

York blinks away the thoughts. "I'm an android. Synthetic human if that term doesn't mean anything to you. My name is York Stark."
