All of the screaming
WHO: Shiro and you!
WHERE: Around Temba
WHAT: Storm Shenanigan
WHEN: Energy Storm
WARNINGS: None yet... except maybe bad pun
A - Ghost of people past
Well, this kind of sucked. With this wonderful storm that was brought on, with all of the fog and everything else, his mechanical arm suddenly stopped working. No matter how Shiro tried to work on it, it just wouldn't respond. Well, he was done to one arm now.
So he had decided to head outside. No point in just sitting around after all. It was very eerie outside. This definitely felt like something bad. This must have been an energy storm? Since they had descried that powers didn't work and suddenly his arm wasn't working?
But as he was walking through the street, he spotted someone and it felt like his blood went cold for a moment as he stared at them. They were... so far away, but he felt that he knew exactly who they were.
"Adam?" When the figure started to move away, he called out. "Adam!"
B - Anyone need a hand?
Shiro had decided that the best course of action to try and get some assistance with his arm was well... to bring it outside and see if he could have someone help look at it. It was so hard to actually do it by himself he was find.
He had really just gotten back outside with it when suddenly the moon screamed. Holding his mechanical arm, Shiro was really unable to block out the sound from the scream.
What the...?
But then all of the sudden, his mechanical arm was moving again... but not because he was controlling it. It was moving entirely on its own and completely at random.
"What the hell?!"

Keith heard him calling for Adam, and it was concerning. He'd been tricked by one of these storms before, and he started running towards him.
Of course, the fact that he could actually be being tricked again didn't cross his mind at all...
no subject
"I... I saw him..."
no subject
But, yeah... he reminded himself that this was the first time Shiro had experienced one of these storms.
"It's..." He took a deep breath. "I'm sorry. It's the storm." Keith also noticed then that the light from Shiro's shoulder piece for his arm wasn't on. That must be the storm, too. "We should try to take some cover..." He was trying to be gentle, hoping that Shiro wouldn't take this too badly. After all, Keith had fractured his leg in one of these storms when he fell down a small cliff chasing down visions he thought were his parents. He knew they were pretty convincing, and that they liked to lead someone towards danger.
no subject
He nodded as Keith came over, still kind of watching in the direction that he had seen the figure. "I thought... that it might be. Yeah, we should go inside."
no subject
"Hey... I'm sorry."
Regardless of what had happened between Shiro and Adam before Voltron, Keith knew that Shiro was still hurt by Adam's death. Keith was, too, honestly. It had been hard to get to know one without getting to know the other. And, even if Keith had kind of sided with Shiro after the break up, he didn't hate Adam.

"Has this happened before? With... seeing people?"
no subject
"Yeah... yeah, it has." His voice was low, having definitely experienced it himself. "It was one thing to see people from home, but..." He sighed heavily, following Shiro inside. "I saw my dad."
no subject
no subject
"Yeah..." He crossed his arms over his chest. "Because of how this place works, how people can be from different points in time than each other, it wasn't really hard to believe it could be him, you know? But, like... the storm... it was almost taunting me with something I could only ever have in a place like this." He took a steadying breath.
"He was with Mom. So, I went to them. Or, at least, I tried to." He frowned. "The apparitions... they like to lead you into danger. I didn't see the drop off at all. I just fell. I was lucky it wasn't too deep and all I ended up with was a broken ankle." He looked back up at Shiro.
"That's why I stopped you," he said. "If it really was Adam, he would have come back and not have kept going... and I didn't want to see you get hurt or worse if the storm led you somewhere dangerous."
no subject
"That's... not good. I'm glad that it wasn't much a drop, but yeah... thanks for not letting me chase after it. It didn't seem like something that Adam would do. Go further away from us."
no subject
"Yeah."
He reached out and put his hand on Shiro's shoulder again.
"Are you okay?"
no subject
“Yeah… I’m alright. This place is very unfair, it seems.”

Screaming moons were one thing. Actually it was a very weird thing. It was practically enough for Cayde to decide he much rather preferred a Hive-infested moon than that one up above.
And then came the Light, flooding back in full force- more so than he'd ever felt the connection before. It was too much, and he had a feeling it wasn't going to be a pretty result. One thing was for sure, he'd definitely be pretty hard to miss out there.
As Shiro struggled with his wildly moving arm, he was bound to see a bright light cutting through the fog. It would turn out to be a figure, entirely engulfed in flames, and although the fiery intensity didn't seem to be consuming said figure himself.
no subject
"What the hell!?"
He jumped up, his own arm falling out of his grasp and onto the ground. At least it wasn't dangerous like the other one...
"Hey! You alright?!" He didn't... seem be getting injured by it? But that was hard to tell naturally.
no subject
"-Shiro?!" It took him a moment to remember someone else was there, and it was someone he knew. He jerked his head up, unable to see much past the glare he was generating. "Stay back, I can't-"
He staggered back, feeling himself waver, feeling like even his mind was on fire. All this energy was going to need an outlet, and he sure didn't want it to be anywhere near a buddy.
no subject
But he couldn't exactly freak out either. That would not have helped at all.
"It's okay... I'll stay back. Is there anything I can do?"
Should he run and get a fire extinguisher? ... That he can't use at the moment with only one arm...
no subject
"Don't die," came Cayde's suggestion, even then sounding grated as he was understandably a bit distracted. He grabbed his gun, unsure of how much more things would build up before inevitably exploding. He couldn't tell if doing so was enough of a trigger or if it was just coincidence, but he swung the Ace of Spades up towards the sky, in the back of his mind hoping maybe it was at the moon. He grasped it with both hands just as the fire peaked and then shot outwards- a massive blast of golden, flaming light. Briefly the surrounding area was lit up like day, but the moon remained untouched, wherever it was, although the screams seemed to have ceased.
Cayde stood where he was, uncharred by the fiery display, even if the ground around him smoldered slightly with residual heat. He collapsed onto the ground, lying on his back with a groan.
no subject
As Cayde was taking actions to try and remedy the situation, Shiro took a few steps back, eventually shielding his eyes with his arm to block out the light. When it finally faded, there was Cayde, standing pretty much unscathed even though the ground was worse for wear. Shiro jogged over, forgetting about his missing arm for the moment. He stopped far enough back that he was not in the hottest parts of the smoking ground.
"Doing better?"
no subject
It took him a moment, but his optics finally opened, brightening gradually to normal levels, only to glare at the moon hanging in the sky, disappointed he hadn't shot a hole straight through it. Slowly he dragged himself to roll onto an arm, about as far as he got in propping himself up for the moment.
"I'm getting too old for this. Still in one piece?"
no subject
He stayed back to give Cayde a chance to recover himself... and also in case he were to suddenly burst into flames again. Luckily, that didn't seem to happen and as he moved to attempt to prop himself up - even if it was slowly - Shiro offered him his only hand to in assistance.
He chuckled slightly at that. "You? Yes, you are still in one piece. Me? Technically no, but because of anything happening with you."
At least based on the silence, his other arm had probably stopped moving on its own...
no subject
"Whoa, what happened to it? You all right?" His mind was getting there, hopping hurdles to catch up, click things together. "-it doesn't hurt does it?" He wasn't sure how the connection worked, but it put into perspective how much more inconvenient a storm could make things for people.
no subject
Such was the story of his life.
"It doesn't hurt. Not any less than our first attempt to get it to work back home at least."
That had been painful.
no subject
How often was that going to be a thing? At least Sundance was trying to keep track of things should it happen again.
"We better figure out if there's a way around that. You probably don't need to be slapping yourself any more than I need to suddenly explode in solar fire. Sorry about that, by the way- I'm usually way better at that."
no subject
He chuckled at that. "Yeah, neither of us need that. No problem. I figured that wasn't your choice. Now I need... to go find my arm."
The fog wasn't going to help with that.
