Festival fun times!
WHO: Lance and you!
WHERE: Temba "Rain Fare"
WHAT: Having fun and chilling out
WHEN: Now
[Winter and cold weather usually honestly, well, sucked for Lance. Growing up in Cuba, going to the Garrison in the middle of a desert, then a bunch of years in space... He wasn't used to the snow and the cold and the dark, so his mood had definitely suffered for it, no matter how novel snow tended to be. But despite spring still being a way's away, there was something bright happening now. A festival. Lance loved festivals and fairs and any sort of celebration, really, so something like this happening? Yeah, he was all over it.
The first thing he notices of course is the archery range. Though his marksmanship expertise lays in shooting, he's still been good at archery the times he's tried it, so he's eager to give this a shot. Literally. He's grinning as he ends up doing better than he thought, managing no small amount of bullseyes. Yeah, he definitely wants to practice some more with this stuff.
The treasure pit as well catches his eye. Who could say no to shinies? So he goes over, spending some time digging things up and collecting the prettiest rocks he can. Could be great for decoration, but even more than that, maybe he can utilize the prettiest one he finds to make a nice gift for Keith.
Once he's all tuckered out from running about from activity to activity, he'll hang out by the bonfire, sitting down and relaxing. Lance sips at one of the "potions" he'd made earlier, tossing bundles into the fire every so often to admire the sparkles and colors.
He knows that things are never peaceful for long, but right now, he'll enjoy it while it lasts.]
((ooc: I'm also happy to do any of the activities I didn't mention so go wild! Lance is going to do all the things, those are just some of the prompts for the post.))

Bonfire
What you mix yourself up?
[Gladio himself had bypassed the whole potion thing, instead getting himself a cup of red-fruit drink from the nearby ships. What could he say, the dude was lucky to be the pilot of the ship that actually had the equivalent of booze.]
no subject
Lance looks up and smiles over at him.]
Honestly, I'm not exaaaactly sure what's in it. One of the things sorta tastes like rum? I think? So I figured eh, why not, let's have fun and throw together whatever goes with it!
no subject
ALl for that. Sometimes all you need is the taste of it.
no subject
Yeah. I mean, it's not like I pound 'em back all the time, but it's nice to have a drink sometimes, y'know? Me and an old friend used to meet up regularly to chat over them, back at the last place we were at before here. Of course, it was an actual bar on a pretty nice spaceship, so a little more fancy than this... But I'm used to setting changes by now, I guess?
[It was definitely a cool "hey, I'm an adult, I can do this now!" feeling, honestly.]
no subject
You mean there are ships nicer than the ones we've got? Not that, you know, the one I'm on is all that nice. Sorta creepy paparazzi stuff. Worse than I ever saw back home.
no subject
[His smile turns nostalgic and a little sad for a moment, but he shakes his head.]
It was definitely more comfy than this place, but yeah, you just roll with things after a while. Oof, though... What happened back home for you?
[He's always curious to learn about other people!]
no subject
Salon, huh? That's not a side jibe at my hair, is it? Not that I could blame you. We haven't exactly had a lot of barber shops back home in, oh, about a decade.
[What happened back home? Gladio laughed.]
Not as much happened to me as to a charge of mine, but once had a rather messy break up show in tabloids.
no subject
[He loves Keith's hair, but tradition is tradition.]
Oh man, that sucks. I used to be pretty well known back home but I never had to deal with any scandals or a ton in the way of paparazzi. I think that'd drive me nuts, even if I wanted to be a big damn famous hero. Everything work out okay for your friend in the end?
no subject
I mean, he's avoided the lime light for a while, but I don't think that will stick around.
[After all, back home his own Noctis would be king, and the media always cared about royals.]
Advantage here is that I don't have to deal with cameras.
[Damn but that comment made him miss Prompto.]
no subject
True, that. You might've gone crazy in the place a lot of us were before here--the one I mentioned--cause we were basically on a reality show being broadcast to god knows who.
no subject
Maybe I would have. I don't much like being watched like that. But I guess they could do worse. I'm worth watching.
[Dude knows he's hot.]
no subject
[He laughs, grinning at him.]
I kinda miss that place, being on camera aside, but it's a relief now to not have to think about being watched all the time.
no subject
I tend to assume I'm being watched here. Seems safer.

Archery
Instead they were barely hitting the target at all. Weird, right?
And after a few shots like that, Tommy finally spoke from behind Lance.]
You getting tired or something? Those shots are going really wide.
[And of course he had the stupidest smile on his face.]
no subject
What.
Lance frowns at the first shot that goes wide. He could have sworn he fired in just the same fashion as before. And then another, and then another...]
What in the quiznak?
[Okay, it isn't as if that potion he drank was strong or anything. When he hears the voice, though, he squeaks and jumps, surprised before turning around.]
Hey, I was doing perfectly fine before now... Before...
[He looks at that smile.]
Oh, you son of a--
[It doesn't sound angry, more of a friendly exasperation.]
no subject
Son of a truly amazing woman? Because man, I don't know if you'll EVER hit anything with a bow and arrow again if you insult my mom.
no subject
[It's an obvious tease, and he gives Tommy a nudge and a laugh.]
So, what're you up to other than trolling me?
no subject
[He grins at that Lance because yeah, he gets that it's a tease.]
You know, keeping people fed and alive and all that shit.
no subject
[Tommy's pretty awesome, honestly, in Lance's eyes.]
I mean, mood, that's a given. But are you at least taking a break here? There's a bunch of cool stuff at this festival.
no subject
[End joy the smirk.]
Easier to take a break when there's food options here after all. Even if this is super creepy. The 'people' here? Not real. Fucking weird ass holograms.
no subject
[And he sticks his tongue out.]
Yeahhhh... I mean, it's not like I haven't seen a lot of holograms before, but I definitely get them being kinda creepy. Trying to focus less on them and more on us.
no subject
[Creepy because they are just there. Still. Staring.]
I prefer my fake people to act more like people. Or, you know, act.
no subject
[Even if he fails a million times, Lance is nothing but persistent.]
Probably not worth it to try to give them acting lessons, huh?
no subject
[He snorted at the idea of lessons.]
Because giving wallpaper acting lessons ever works.
no subject
[Chuckle.]
Well, no, but I've seen weirder things.
