I do not know what ‘sign language’ is, but I do enjoy learning new things so that would be a pleasure I think.
[text]
colder?! that is not fair. i do not know how tall i am? some popele say i am very tall but i do not know the numbers. sign language how i talk.

Fair or not, it is sadly the natural order of the seasons.
While I am still uncertain as to what you mean by sign language being your method of communication, I can meet you if you are willing to have measurements taken. I might have some sweaters you can use.
[text] >> [action]
i can meet you in the front room of hte hotel if you like?
[It seems like he'd have to show her what sign language was instead of trying to explain it. Pulling his scarf around his neck and head, Lerith heads out of the little hotel room he had started to call home and headed down to the lobby. Er, 'front room'.]

Don’t know about blankets, though. Could try the replicator. Or ask the Agrii for something. That can be hit or miss.
[text]
[Lerith, honey, you have a map. But he uses the device for communication and always forgets about the other parts of it]
what is a replciatro. replicaotr. rep li ca t o r.
[Not only 'what was it' but why was it so difficult to type? Or spell. Maybe both.]
Re: [text]
A replicator is like a smart computer that can make things.
[text]
A comm device made words and let people use video and sound without being in the same room. Maybe that was what a computer was, but for something else?]
i um. do not know what some of those things are. like a computer or hangar. i come from a different world, that does not have thins like this device i use to type on, or replicator. s. we have horses? parchment. i use journals to communicate and write everything down. i like the device better. what ddi you mean when you said what you do and what you are does not mix well with the cold?

If you'd like, I can offer you one of the portable heating units I've repaired.

[Text]
Not magic, but I guess if you're unused to technology and machines then I can see how it can seem that way. It's wires and things inside that make it generate heat. The power source would need recharging if you use it for a long time, but if you're staying in a place it can be plugged in, then you won't need to worry about that too much.
Re: [Text]
this is hard to type on sometimes. ia m sory about mistakes.

i think the cold is stupid.

i guess it can be. it will potentially be a little dangerous for sure.

That aside- Have you found a place to stay? There are furnished and repaired rooms in the hotel in the town center.
Oh- shi--
[ The message cuts off and Jon switches to video, looking embarrassed before looking down at his hands and to his own bewilderment goes on delivering the remainder of his response via sign language. ]
I apologize. Is this an easier way for you to communicate?
[text] >> [video]
He's about to answer when video pops up and he watches the other sign to him instead. With some difficulty, he flips it from text to video. He's actually smiling, something he didn't get much of since the dragon attack and being dropped unannounced here.]
[Yes! Much easier than trying to type on this strange device or write everything down! I can hear, I cannot speak. More people know sign language here than in my own world. Is it common where you are from?]
It's not as commonly known as it probably should be.
To repeat myself, I was asking if you checked out the hotel already. There are free, furnished rooms available there.

What's tevinter?
[But of course he had an answer for the blanket.]
But ya I have one or two blankets you can have for free.

[he was starting to get accustomed to people having no idea what or where Thedas was at least.]
i will accept offer if you accept offer of learning language? trading feels better than just being given somethign with no work for ti

Like Haven.
And Tevinter.
The tone doesn't match the one person he knows who'd make the distinction, so who are you?]
Hey. Don't be so hard on yourself. If I can do it with giant hands, you can do it, too.
And you know, there are lots of ways to warm up without blankets.
[text]
[He reads the rest of the message and his body feels colder at the idea of other ways to warm up.]
you mean like magic? no absolutely not no magic. magic not trusted.
[He remembered the near panic attack he had with Kaz and he didn't want to accidentally repeat that.]
Re: [text]
[he frowned at the communicator for a moment at the question, though it made sense. If the speaker was from Tevinter and had any experience with mages anyway.]
No, I was talking about something more physical. Active. Private.
