Hey guys!
[Cal gives a little wave from a counter at his workshop. His other hand seems to be dangling a bit of string down to the floor, giving it a tug upwards now and then as it looks like something snags it.]
I know the weather's been getting cooler, and who knows when it'll start snowing. With some help from Tommy we've managed to get some batches of portable heaters fixed up, so if you need one you're welcome to come by the salvage shop and take one, or I can bring one out to you if that's easier too.
[He pauses to glance down towards the floor again, lips twitching in a faint smile.]
Also, anyone interested in taking in a tooka cat?

Cal comes back into the main room holding up a thin sliver of dried meat, which instantly gains her attention.]
Heh, that what you were waiting for?
[He walks over and holds the jerky out for Terra to take.]
Ezra said that's what she calls herself, a way of describing the way light filtered in from the upper levels of the city.

However, his head tilted up to listen to what was said.]
So she named herself?

[He smiles as he watches the tooka approach almost shyly, sniffing before she nips at the bit of meat.]
There's probably no exact way to put words to, so dapple was probably the closest translation Ezra could get to the feeling.

[Terra said this with a smile and kept the meat coming so long as it lasted, returning his gaze to the tooka. If everyone named themselves, he wondered what name he would've chosen for himself.]
She must be pretty self aware then.

She's pretty smart. I guess she's not too bad at looking out for herself but the city she came from and this place are a lot different, so I think she feels better having someone around.

I can look out for her.
[And then he returned his gaze to the face against his hand and he reached out slowly to pet it.]
So I can carry you on one shoulder and hold onto the heater with my other hand. How does that sound?

She's very curious, so don't get too surprised if she runs off to go look at things. Maybe it'll be better to carry her in one arm for a while so she understands you want her to go with you.
[Cal holds up a small rectangular container.]
You can take this too. More jerky- use sparingly. Also not just for tooka cats.

[Hey if Cal knows what he's doing, Terra is all about it. This whole having a pet thing was new to him but he figured the tooka would be good because it was independent and wouldn't require a whole lot of effort, or so he figured anyway.
But he looked up at the container that the other held up and nodded, standing up slowly after petting the animal a few more times.]
Okay.
[So he went back down and got the tooka under one arm as instructed, along with the jerky and heater.]
Thanks for all of your help.

Cal smiles, giving the both of them a nod.]
Not a problem. Let me know if anything comes up.
Wrap?
Thanks again and I'll let you know.
[And with that he walked out.]
