[ Kyle you may not realize it, but the simple fact you got a 'sorry' from Kaz is a really big deal. People that have known him for years have never heard him say that single word. ]

Strangely enough, the only time I killed someone last month, it was just me doing it. To be clear he had a cocked gun aimed at me and Stark so I'm calling that self-defense. When it was more than just me...well it turned into something I have no rational way to explain? I walked away from one guy altogether. Even though another guy pulled a gun on me and I broke his arm for it I still left him alive.

[ Laid out like this, it seems like Kaz uses lethal force most when he's in his right mind. Which is a disturbing thought for people other than Kaz. ]

[ It's the intimate knowledge of ​what Kaz was afraid of that made what Kyle did so damaging. That uncomfortable look Kaz had was back with a vengeance. ]

...I'm not sure what would be the best way to handle this. My instinct says I should make sure you never talk to me again. To do something to make you hate me. But I cut off your hand and you still tell me that you're sorry, so I don't know what to do.

[ Kyle may not realize it, but this level of candor is something Kaz only shows to about 2 other people. Kaz may never admit it out loud, but 'bros' might be a good description. ]

[ Kaz hadn't actually tried to kill Kyle, or at least Kaz wasn't intending to kill him. But since he had maimed Kyle, the finer points of Kaz's intentions weren't that important. ]

Well, I was thinking you'd stop talking to me of your own accord if you ended up hating me. That's generally how other people seem to regard me when I maim them, anyway.

I wasn't aware you had people and I didn't know anything about your mother until right this moment.
