Let's try this again.

WHO: Clarice Starling and anyone else interested in joining her
WHERE: Sh'Ka / The Diner
WHAT: A gathering trip postponed since September, and a catch-all for the diner.
WHEN: Early October for the trip, all month for the diner
WARNINGS: None yet, but we'll add them in comments if any come up!

At first, Clarice had been a little frustrated that her trip had been postponed ... she had already been delayed by her injury in the mines, after all. But helping Tommy around while he healed took precedence, and her frustration lasted about as long as an ice cube in a blast furnace. Being busy kept her from thinking too hard about what she might have been missing out there on the other end of the automated train tracks, about any opportunities to help grow their little community. And busy they were: keeping everyone fed was a full-time job, even more so when one of them was just getting rid of a limp and the other was dealing with one, too.

Finally, things had begun to settle again. One morning, Clarice got out of the shower, braided her wet hair, and dressed before looking out the little window of her room at the horizon. With a few slow nods to herself, she reached out and picked up her tablet, texting the handful of people who had showed interest in her network post what had felt like an age ago:

Hey, y'all. I've finally got some time free again. If you still want to go to Sh'Ka with me, meet me down at the train at 9:30. I'll bring caffiene and breakfast.

((OOC: This is mostly just flavor text - I'll put top-levels for each setting in the comments!))

[Surely she wouldn't get in trouble for accompanying someone on a trip out to the other city- that wasn't a mothkitten, anyway. Omega had taken extra care to make sure Tony hadn't been tailing her, though she hoped the winged cat had learned his lesson the last time she'd had to chase him when he boarded the train.

When she sees Clarice, she waves.

It's okay if I come along, right?

[She wants to help too! Maybe they'd find more plants for medical purposes.]

[She had not been intended as one to come upon this trip, but there was a specific reason that Lauri-Ell intended to spend a day in Sh'Ka. Perhaps she wasn't full on expedition potential, but there was a plan she had in motion, and the other city was part of her hopes for that plan. After all, she was told that 'gifts' were traditional for certain human rituals of celebration, and Sh'Ka seemed a good place to look.

So she had arrived at the train station early after her patrol and been shocked to see her friend. She went from focused to beaming widely to see Clarice, moving immediately to meet her.]

Clarice! You look ready for an adventure.

[And come in she did, Lark still in the same in soft green robes she had worn since arriving here. At her side trotted a large dog, roughly the size of a wolfhound but with curly ivory fur and a very friendly face. Lark made a clicking noise and pointed to a table, and for all that the dog clearly wanted to go meet Clarice, he flopped down under a table, even as he sniffed at the air.]

Good day, Clarice. Might I ask what you're currently working on? Oh, and are there any spare larger bones or meat trimmings we can spare? Little Bear has been particularly good lately and might deserve a little treat.

[ Kaz hadn't been to the Diner much to begin with but when he finally did go, it was because he couldn't stand on his bad leg long enough to make coffee for himself. As the seasons changed and it became cooler, the pain of Kaz's bad leg was again made worse, but this time when he went to the diner it was mostly for convenience sake rather than being in pain. Though Kaz pulled a second chair over to another so that he could sit down and still prop his leg up. ]

Don't concern yourself with me, just black coffee, please.
