[Luke looks a little annoyed at something off screen before looking up to the camera.]

Prosthetic limbs. I'm sure I've seen an arm, and I know we've got some cybernetic residents. Do we have something set up for those of us with them, like, repairs, maintenance, charging if need be? Mine was damaged before I got here and I didn't get a chance to get the synth skin repaired, which is just vaguely awkward, because it means crap can get in and it's harder to clean out.

[He huffs and blows his fringe from his eyes.]

Yeah. Just looking for connect with the others who have a similar situation. Talk solutions.

Oh, it's about as nebulous as that. Sparkly light and tadaa! All better.

Unfortunately, no. It's kind of a partnership thing. Comes with the whole Guardian gig.

Well, for starters we're dead before our little pal comes finds us- Come on out and say hello, Sundance.

[He holds up a hand, a star-like drone unfolding in a shimmer of light above it. The Ghost tips slightly in midair, a nod of sorts.]

Then 'boom!' We wake up, very confused and if you're like me, freak out and run off a cliff- anyway, takes some getting used to. But we're brought back by the Light of the Traveler, and now we try to protect those who can't fight against some of the nastier stuff out there who wanna snuff us out.

Oh, hey there, Sundance.

So Sundance brought you back to life... do you know why it chose you? Why you were chosen to fight?

She did. And no, not really. Don't think they really know either, 'cept that it's the Traveler who made 'em that lets them know, somehow.

[He shrugs.]

Maybe it's something of the person we used to be. But I'm not saying we all just woke up and figured 'oh hey, I'm gonna fight for humanity!' Back in the dark ages? They called themselves Risen back then- power went right to their heads. There were those taking advantage of it, warlords all over the place throwing their weight around. Pret-ty messy.

I don't know what 'Dark Ages' are. Pre-hyperspace?

Also, feel free to tell me it's none of my business, I'm just really curious.

It makes more sense when you figure there's a Golden Age before it. That's everything it sounds like- big, bright and shiny, an explosion of technological advancements. So clearly, Dark Age isn't anything good- 'specially if it's coming after something like all that.

[He pauses, then shakes his head before he offers a shrug.]

Not really, no. It's all bits and pieces, if anything.

[ He's still a bit confused on this 'Dark Age' thing. ]

That must be difficult.

[Cayde shrugs again, chuckling a little.]

Eh, you live as long as me and you find you got plenty enough to fixate on than the past anyway.

At least several centuries. I know, hard to believe when I look this good.

... my master was nine centuries old.

'Eh,' he says.

[Cayde smirks.]

So me and Ikora are about three centuries short there.

[ He nods, eyes wide and solemn. ]

Nine centuries and I'll be impressed.

Well, when you raise the bar that high you're gonna be in for a lot of mediocrity.
