Hey, uh... guys? Anyone get a notice that we might be leaving? I just checked the ships, and they're ready to fly... at least, the Bloodsport is. But, I didn't get a notice or anything that we were supposed to be going anywhere. Also, it looks like they're only able to take us over to that new place where the train goes. It's the only destination I can put in.

It really does. I've seen a lot of people without it over the past few years, too.

I want to take them at their word... but it's hard right now.

I have chosen to have faith in them as I have not see them deliberately try and hurt us yet. I will have confidence if no one else will.

That's fine. I'm not saying people shouldn't.

Good. I have known my people to be very much of the opinion that one should have to listen to what their opinions are and serve only those. I do not like that.

I've met a few people like that, too. I don't like it, either. [He shook his head a little.]

Do you punch them? I want to punch them. But I'm not supposed to.

But that was kind of frowned on by my teachers and all that. So, I try not to do it right away unless it's really necessary.

[Ah, that was interesting. Kree instructors would be okay with her striking people, provided they were not superiors. Human culture was quite strange.]

Delaying violence is better?

Well, technically, we were always told that no violence was better... and I got in a lot of trouble for stuff. But, like... if other people started the fighting part first, then I was just defending myself. So... if I could at least hold back long enough in an argument that the other person would throw the first punch, then I didn't get in as much trouble than if I was the one starting the fight...

Does that... does that even make sense? I... uh... It was just a thing... when I was kid, yanno?

[Keith kind of looked uncomfortable talking about it, too. This was definitely a part of his childhood he wasn't proud of.]

[Well, that didn't make sense. That was silly. Absolutely silly. Violence was sometimes needed, even if it did not feel good. How did you protect others otherwise?]

I suppose I don't know if it makes sense. It is not how I was trained to be. But I know that I am not normal.

[Keith just snorted a little. Salty Paladin was salty.]

Eh... I'm not, either, I guess. [He shrugged a little.]

Heh... maybe. But it's at least a good thing.

A good thing, huh? I thought awesome meant it was good.

Oh, well... yeah. But 'awesome' is kinda like 'extreme' good? As opposed to like just... regular good.

[Ah, her language is being corrected then.]

How does ones measure the difference between an extreme good and a regular good?

Uh... well... I mean, it depends? Like, everything's kind of on a scale, right? So, you could have something that's a little good, like you got a good parking spot at the store. Or you could have something really really good, like someone gave you a present and it's something that you've really wanted for a long time.

[Keith was honestly the worst person to ask about this stuff. She'd be better off asking Lance.]

So it is a matter of degree. I shall have to research this more.

[But she thought she was going to maybe use the word better now.]

I mean... a lot of things are like that instead of being just one or the other. They call it a spectrum.

It helps to research it sometimes if it's not something you're used to. I still find some of it confusing at times.

Yes, this is a concept I am very aware of. But it does not seem that research is easily achieved here.

I guess it depends on who you ask. It probably wouldn't hurt to ask a few people to try putting things together that way, right?
