Video | Open | cw: drugs
[The video opened to, well, a wall and part of the ceiling and not actually Kavinsky, but he was there, evident by the curl of smoke from off-screen.]
You ever miss shit? Like weed or whatever you're into? I doubt this place has drugs around every corner.
[If it did, he wouldn't be sitting there right now, making this video.]
I could change that if anyone was interested. There's no money here, so I guess I'd be doing it for favors.
[But not out of the goodness of his heart. According to some people, he didn't have any of that.]
Don't worry about that part too much; I'm a reasonable guy. [He didn't even know what he'd ask of someone right now, but it was good to make connections, to be able to say you owe me if the time came.]
And don't be shy. I won't judge you for whatever shit you like getting high on.

[His tone is playful, not pejorative. Amused rather than judgmental. His Gansey wasn't the prim and pressed one, yet. And wasn't here, even if Ronan knew he'd disapprove just because he didn't seem to care for Kavinsky. But K seemed to encourage that sort of response, really.]

[But what could he do about that part? Favors would be just as good, if anyone was even interested.]
Besides, why not make an offer? I'm into sharing. [Drugs at least. Speaking of-]
You ever tried weed?

[A touch of amusement to his voice, then a pause as he considers the question. He's not an idiot, not as naive as some people tend to assume him to be; like he's the less sociable version of Matthew.]
Why, are you offering?
[He knows this is probably a slippery slope, but he asks anyway.]
no subject
[Not that they could get any of it here. Or maybe they could, if he was a determined enough dreamer.]
And yeah, why not? I've got plenty.
[And it wasn't anywhere near as harmful as the other things Kavinsky was into.]
I've even got some that's special.

[Ronan talks about Niall with warm amusement and easy adoration, because this is not a tragedy yet. There's something sort of bittersweet because he misses him, but it doesn't hurt because he thinks he's still alive, still living back home. That when they go back he'll still have a family.]
Okay. I'm walking Jack, but I'll be heading back in a few.
[Jack, in the background, barks enthusiastically when Ronan says his name.]

You're saying you can- Acquire drugs. Regardless what type.
voice
[He might not be able to exactly replicate drugs, but they would still do what someone wanted them to do, and that was all people usually cared about in the end.]
The location might have changed, but my ability to procure drugs hasn't.

[So instead of forgeries, he'd went to drugs.]
Not like you're getting carded when you walk into the bar.
voice
[ Yeah, he's muttering to himself. He always looked older than he has been. Still does. ]
How does it work? This magic of yours. Would you be willing to demonstrate it if I- Had a request?

What's weed?
Video
It's a drug. Well, technically a plant. But people use it to get high. Gets you out of your head, you know? For me, it's a chill experience, mellow.
Video
How does it work?
[Catra could use some mellowing out.]
Video
I'm not a pharmacist. I just know that if you smoke it or eat it you get high. Like cats with catnip.
[There was no force on this planet strong enough to keep him from making that kind of comparison right now.]
Video
[Her faces scrunched a little, not liking admitting when she didn't know something, but that wasn't a concept she was aware of in her world.
Though her cheeks did flush at the mention of catnip, and her ears pointedly pressed low against her head.]

[Beck was curious, a discerning look on his face, though he tried to school it into something more...appropriately disapproving.]
Video
[Kavinsky wasn't going to share his secret. Mostly because it was a secret and it affected more than just him.]
Trust me when I say I can get whatever you want, though.
Video
[He couldn't quite hold back a curious grin.]
Anything? Is this limited to drugs, or can you really get anything I might ask for?
Video
[He made a thoughtful sound.]
Not just drugs, but things I'm familiar with, mostly. Pictures or descriptions help. If it does something, sometimes knowing that is more important than what it looks like.
Video
What about size limitations? What if I wanted a rocket ship, for example?

[ Steve, Tommy, and now Cal have all mentioned it to him as a pain killer without the side effect of feeling drunk. ]
voice
Yeah, I know what aspirin is. Why, you need some?
no subject
That depends on how much of a favor it will cost me.
[ Kaz has already gone his whole life without it, so he's wary of the 'cost' ]
no subject
[There wouldn't be much point in asking for a favor from someone who had nothing to actually offer.]

It's a rarity here, but I'm a regular human. No special powers. So unless you wanted a proper theif, I don't have any powers to offer.
[ Except for the fact he was able to pick any lock that had tumblers, the fact that Kaz is so deft and accomplished a thief that he was capable of seemingly impossible levels of pick-pocketing all the way up to stealing priceless works of art right out of their frames. He also had no moral qualms about hurting people, even up to killing them, but if given the option he would rather make people suffer for the rest of their natural lives. He was called 'crime prodigy, a genius', all the way to 'the canal rat and street thug that had done what was thought to be the impossible'. Kaz was just a regular human, but his gifts were all in the power of his mind. Whether he was using his mind at home, or here in Temba. that was still his strongest point ]
