Spin Spin Spin And So The Thread Forms
WHO: Lark, OTA (Closed starter also included)
WHERE: Temba: Glownie Pens, The Fountain, The Hotel 'Lobby'
WHAT: Lark Doing Her Thread Thing
WHEN: August
WARNINGS: Tony and Lark are going to be flirting
1. Glownie Grooming | Animal Nursery | OTA
Sometimes it was just nice to be near the source, so to speak. Today was one of those days. Lark had decided she needed a day off of her attempts at slow magical weaving (a process slowed by having one of her watchers out exploring) and instead carried herself and some tools out to see the glownies.
The beasts were, as was to be expected, shy at first of the woman who sat on a rolled out blanket on the grass. Maybe it was the connection of her magic, or her life as an Earth Temple dedicate, or just plain animal curiosity that brought parts of the herd to investigate as she hummed to herself and pulled wool from a bag to card it into proper form for later spinning. Or maybe she just smelled like glownie, what with the working of the wool. Either way one little beast finally decided it wanted attention and Lark laughed as she had to put the carding sticks away given the glownie head butting into her chest.
"Oh you sweet thing," she laughed, stroking its head gently. "Do you not get enough attention with so many keepers away?"
She hoped they weren't lonely. And that they didn't need special feeding. She had no clue where their things were stored anyway.
2. Free Meditation Time | Hotel Lobby | OTA
It was hot. That was something that could not be easily argued. Lark, as much as she preferred to spend time in her own space when meditating, her work space felt hot and enclosed. So she had moved herself down to the hotel lobby to seek a cooler space to settle herself down. This early afternoon she was seated right on the cool stone of the floor, a large circle of thread circling herself. Her eyes were closed, her hands folded in her lap, and his attention turned inward. Until she heard footsteps.
Lark opened an eye and saw the one approaching and nodded to them. And, given she wasn't alone, she wasn't the only one reacting. A large dog, nearly as large as a wolfhound and with curly ivory colored fur, scrambled to his feet and bound from the circle to sniff at the newcomer.
"Warm day, yes?" she asked, before patting the floor near here. "It's cooler if you sit on the stone. Little Bear."
The crisp snap of the dog's name had Bear look back over his shoulder toward her and after a moment he trotted to her side and laid down again.
3. Fantasy World Queens | Fountain Area | Closed to Moonshade
If there was one person that Lark was happy to spend time with if it was asked for, it was Moonshade. The woman felt more familiar to her than many others, and the woman had brought her silk fibers. Of course she was happy to make time.
And, after their agreed upon meditation Lark had been happy to take the woman's suggestion to retire to the cooler air near the fountain for their work. Lark sat herself down straddling the rim of the fountain so she might leave one foot in the cool water and the other on the ground. She watched as Moonshade settled in to prepare her own craft work, and also for her wolfhound sized dog to settle down after some splashing in the fountain before she pulled out her own silk so she could spin.
"Do tell me, dear Moonshade, if Little Bear starts to bother you or your companion."

2 Meditation Time
“It is a bit warm,” Ikora said as she approached the last few feet. She knelt down in front of Lark and her circle of string, mindful it was most likely a ward of some kind. “I hope I am not interrupting.”
She could easily leave and return but Lark had invited her. “We discussed sharing more about our sources of power. I thought you might have a free afternoon.”
no subject
"Yes yes, you may go play now," she told the dog before turning her attention to Ikora. "My afternoon is very free to you."
no subject
"Thank you for making time for me." She tilted her head towards her with a brief hint of a smile. "Would you like to return to your rooms or speak here?"
She gestured to the lobby which was certainly cooler than most places with the stone. They held the temperature from the cooler night. Though if she was more comfortable in her room they could return there.
no subject
And really, the stone was familiar.

Since they weren't going to leave, she made herself more comfortable. Ophiuchus also appeared, hovering near by in case he was needed for projections or answers about the Light. The ghost was an expert in his own right.
"You never get to ask many questions when you're weaving," she said with a small smile. "I am constantly questioning you."

Glownie
Moving just a little closer, one of the things just rushed right past him out of nowhere and half startled the keyblade wielder, but now he was close enough to hear the lady speak.
"So you..have seen these creatures before?"
Re: Glownie
"Yes. They are glownies. We keep them for wool and food. And you are very new. I am Lark, please come and sit with me a time."
no subject
"For food?" the keyblade wielder asked, as he watched a pair of them seem to rub their heads against each other. What odd creatures, but they were almost cute and he was positive that Ven would love them.
And if that one ever showed up here, he wasn't going to be the one to tell Ven that these animals were eaten.
no subject
“Such is the way of the world, is it not?”
no subject
They seemed like they were roaming free and did people just come out and..no. He didn't want to finish that thought. So his blue eyes turned to his companion instead of focusing on the creatures.
"They just seem so friendly."

indeed
Glownie
"I don't know... clearly they aren't getting enough attention here."
no subject
"Good day to you, Shiro. I've been trying to card wool, but it seems I've their attention. Not that I mind such sweet company."
no subject
"Perhaps they are curious, wondering what you are doing there. I'm sure they've never seen anyone actually doing anything with wool... or they are like other animals and can't have anyone seemingly ignoring them."
no subject
"Perhaps it is that. I know Little Bear feels the same way. I had to leave him in my rooms because I didn't trust him around these sweet beasts," she laughed. "So Shiro, how have you been?"

3, thank you for your patience
"He's fine. I've never really spent much time with dogs--we try to keep our wolves as close to their natural wild roots as possible, not interfering with their pack structure or breeding. But Little Bear seems to be a very noble creature, for his kind."
With my weekend I couldn't touch this before today anyway
But the idea that she worked with the wolf while encouraging it to keep to natural order made Lark smile.
"You know, the way you view your companion reminds me much of the teachings of the Circle. We try and live in harmony and balance, to allow that which is natural to be natural when and where we can. I am glad to see other worlds have those who hold to similar philosophies. As for Little Bear, he can be a brat. Can't you?"
The dog wagged his tail with eager energy, bounding a few steps closer to lark.
"He misses the children."

And usually he isn't being greeted by a large dog right upon entering the building. "Jesus Christ!" The Archivist exclaims and brings his hands up in an attempt to shield himself while taking a step backwards. He is left wide eyed even as the canine that may well weigh more than him is being called back. "...ah..."
Jon swallows, refraining from stepping any further into the building. Instead, his eyes linger on the woman, the question he is about to ask clear on his face. "W-what are you doing...?"
no subject
"I am meditating. I find that a mid-day meditation is wonderful for centering my magic and my mind. It grants balance."
no subject
He can just as well come back at a later time. or a later day.

"Or you could join me. There is something ot be said for being still on a cool stone floor on a hot day, is there not?"

He leaned against the fence, watching them in a sort of meditative state, posture shifting abruptly when he realized there was a woman in there. He was quick to glance away to try and indicate he hadn't meant to be staring at her, making a face at himself and offering an apologetic wave.
Good one, Buck.

"The glownies do not bite."
no subject
"Bucky," he introduced, flashing a faint smile. He was a bit stiff, but he was trying.

"Lark. And these are hte glownies. I'm trying to get them behave enough for me to gather their loose wool.
