1. Network Video

Good day all. As you can see, I've hauled myself away from the mines work due to... Well, degrees of issue with the enclosed spaces.

[A lie. A simple lie. Mini had been becoming a bit argumentative in the worst ways and Reeve had chosen to take the feline away from the source of his agitation. Especially since it seemed the people that had been working in and out of the area were doing quite well now that the map was completed.]

I have been working on final refinement of the mines map from the exploration. I can send anyone pictures of the maps I've made, but I'd like to make it a more useful one and was wondering if anyone with Comms might lend me their time for an afternoon to polish something for use on all communicators.

Beyond that...

[Reeve holds up scissors, a comb, and an actual electric razor]

I spent a it of my replicator rations this month on grooming supplies, and have converted the razor to run on the power supply here. While I'm not the best hair dresser, my mother and I used to do each other's trims when I was small. I'm happy to either offer these tools for use for people wanting them, or to have people come and ask for a trim. Mostly, my eyes are blurring so much from this map that I need something to take breaks with.

So, anyone for a trim? I don't promise they'll be fashionable, but your hair will be short and provided it's not overly curly, even. Just show up at the Restoration Coordination building.


2. Okay But Hair Cuts | Temba Restoration Coordination Building | OTA

True to his word, the door to the Restoration Committee building was open wide, allowing in fresh air and sun. Near the front of the very busy room filled with tables and desks and charts and drawings is... Well, it's a single chair. A simple one clearly able to be moved. Next to it a bag that clearly had the materials Reeve was showing off on the network. And next to the main table of the room is Reeve, hair freshly cut, rubbing at his eyes as he took a break from looking at a rather large spread of papers that included all of his notes on the mapping of the mines. They were giving him a headache, with how needlessly twisted the place was. They did it on purpose, just to offend him. Of course they didn't, but it felt like that.

With a sigh he looked up and, catching sight of someone in the doorway, he smiled.

"Good afternoon."


3. Language Young Man | Mines | Closed to Felwinter [Backdated to Mines Exploration]

Mini hadn't been the only one worried when he had settled into crawling through the hole to the mystery further into the mines. But Reeve himself took a deep breath and leaned against a wall, eyes closed, mind linked to that of his companion. He saw through Mini's eyes and listened through the construct's mental tirade and discovery. And when all was said and done and the Ghost and feline returned, Reeve scooped the feline up into his arms and moved away from the others.

"That Felspring is eh real sensible type," Mini observed, and Reeve ignored the comment.

"You and I have to have a little talk," he said when he thought they were closer to being alone. "I can't believe you did that to Cobb."

"'Ey! He started it! Treaten us like we wasn't important. Ain't right, ah'm a livin thing too," Mini grumbled, not as quiet as Reeve might want him to. But surely no one was listening to hear his complaint, right?


4. Checking In On You | Rufus's House | Closed to Rufus

If there was one thing that Reeve knew how to do, it was fret. Free of his previous explorations and with the finally finished and repainted cane in hand, Reeve had made his way to where he knew Rufus had chosen to settle. In his pocket there was a strip of dried baconshroom because he thought perhaps Dark might enjoy not only the taste, but the toughness which might be a bit closer to jerky. It was the best offering he could bring for the hound.

With Mini (properly chided about proper language in polite company) at his side, Reeve began the trek to the restored homes and from there, the one in which Rufus was living. With a raised hand he knocked crisply on the door. Time to see if the boss was in.

The expedition tapered rather anticlimactically. Felspring was almost disappointed there wasn't anything but another room beyond, but so far as things looked, further progress wasn't going to be made without more work and planning. Unlike Reeve and Mini, when the Ghost returned, she and Felwinter didn't engage in any conversation, but then the latter was usually quiet in any case.

They stepped back to allow the others to have a look as they would. At least none of the problems that they had initially anticipated when sending Felwinter ahead with Mini and that robotic contraption of Drake's had arose, but given Cobb's attitude towards the smallest members of their party not too long ago, Felwinter had started to wonder if he'd also been written off simply as expendable.

His Ghost glanced over towards the pair as Mini made his complaints known. "He could have chosen his words better," she agreed as she drifted over towards them. "If we'd gone on further, think he would've gotten mad?" She had no facial features but the Ghost's tone easily suggested a smirk, and Felspring definitely exhibited more personality than Felwinter did on any given day.

Felspring! Mini looked toward the Ghost and waved. He liked Ghosts and Exos. They felt more familiar to him than most humans did. Even his creator.

"Aye, I think we woulda, lass," Mini agreed with a bit of annoyance in his voice. "Guess it's all tha more disappointin that there were nae further ta go."

"And yet, you still behaved poorly," Reeve sighed to his companion as he nodded to Felwinter. "I'm still sorry that happened."

He pitched his voice to a quieter level, not wanting their words to carry to Cobb and the others.

Mini had been a strange one, but she's found him amusing, especially after that little confrontation. Felspring let her shell splay slightly with a sigh. "True." They couldn't get very far between the two of them, anyway.

Felwinter came over to join them, shaking his head at Reeve. "Were it an option I would have just gone myself. I suspect the main reason for my presence on this expedition is due to my durability."

"He didn't even seem to know your name," Reeve agreed with Felwinter when the man joined them. That had been a bit... uncomfortable. But Reeve didn't want to say much more. He was starting to wonder about Cobb's behavior. The man tried hard, but not everyone around was human and that needed thoughtfully considered.

"Well, I still offer my thanks to you, for your role in protecting us."

Exploring the mines was apparently now a thing. Not unanticipated of course, especially with Cobb making a public announcement, but with the initial exploration and mapping complete the Soldier found little enough reason to be there. Increased people meant an increase in his levels of discomfort, especially in close quarters.

That he also noted an absence of one of the people whose presence he didn't mind was purely coincidental. Seeing Reeve's message to the populace, he put it out of his mind. Therefore his showing up at the so-called coordination center was also coincidence.

His gaze wandered past Reeve to the papers spread on the table, before returning to the man. Belatedly he acknowledged the greeting. "Hello."

Sure, it was all a coincidence. He bought that. Uh huh. Well, good thing Reeve didn't know. Seeing Bucky earned a bit more of an honest, tired edge came into his smile. He didn't think that Bucky would judge him for it.

"Not usual to see you by here. Can I help you? Did you come to see the progress on the map?"

"Maybe the map. Maybe the man making it." He'd seen how focused Reeve had been in the tunnels, took his own rotations partnered with the cartographer. It would be as meticulously accurate as possible, if the man's work ethic was anything to judge by.

And if that tired smile was anything to judge by, Reeve had indeed been working hard. The Soldier doubted his own purpose in coming here for a moment; he could return another time. But another time he might not have the privacy they now enjoyed. So he pushed through his own discomfort both at his thoughts and at the situation in general and approached the workbench, pulling something from his pocket.

"Food," he said, placing two plums on the surface, carefully away from the map papers. "Everyone should take a chance to eat." Reeve's own words, come back to, ahem, bite him in the butt.

The man making it? Reeve stared for a moment. And he almost felt heat rising to his cheeks and then, hand in his pocket, touched his ice materia. Feeling its cold running through him helped still the reaction. What a strange thing.

So he instead looked at Bucky as the man approached, and noted the plums. Oh. Oh that was so nice. He started to smile.

"I love plums," Reeve laughed. He didn't even notice that the man was throwing his own words at him. "Oh I hope they taste like real plums. We had a tree on the farm."

Oh what a smile of delight he has as he looks up at Bucky.

"Thank you so much."

Okay But Hair Cuts

"And to you," Poe teased in his best Imperial accent. Always so formal, Reeve.

"If you don't take a break from all this I swear, I'm going to let BB torch it all. Look at you," he tsked, coming to pull Reeve's attention away from all the papers with a kiss. "You wanna take a stab at these curls? You leave me bald and we're done, Reeve," he added with a smirk.

Really, Poe? Reeve's face shows how not amused he is over the threat of torching everything. But the kiss definitely pulls him away and Reeve sighs in delight at the contact.

When it is taken away he sighs.

"Yes, I can do that, Darling. And I promise you won't be bald. I just dont' know that you'll be as beautiful as you could be if it was someone else doing the task."

So serious all the time, Reeve. Poe pouted at that look, though it was quickly forgotten, hip settling to perch on Reeve's desk with an amused hum.

"It's been me and BB hacking away at it for more than a year, I'm sure you can't do any worse."

Oh, Poe absolutely knew how to get Reeve to be a little less serious. But he definitely wasn't thinking of the papers now.

"Well, you wouldn't be upset at BB if he messed it up," Reeve countered, a hand settling on Poe's knee.

2. Even more haircuts

Tony would be hardpressed to call it cold, but after the cloistered humidity of the other city, Temba was certainly breezy. It made the walk to Reeve's office feel much lighter as Tony set out, sauntering along the familiar street with ease at what kind of felt like a homecoming after weeks in the jungle and cut off from the network, at least until he was starting to get unavoidably close to his destination. Once he could see the building, another, less welcome familiarity struck Tony in the anxious knot in his chest that tightened in anticipation of Reeve. It was going to be fine, he was the one that was reaching out about the mines, and Tony was well suited to help digitize, they could just get to the work and they could put off discovering how else Tony could disappoint him for another day.

He didn't expect to find the door open, and approached it from the side like he could take it by surprise, slinking into the frame before rapidly constructing the proudly raised chin and reliable smirk of confidence before anyone inside might catch sight of his caution. Both hands were tucked into his pockets, with a bag swinging from one wrist, and he let his sunglasses slide down his nose to adjust to the light inside as he responded, "Afternoon, old man." Tony raised his free arm to get Reeve to stay where he was, not to get too energetic on Tony's account, and let Tony come to him to clap that waving hand to Reeve's shoulder and greet him with a kiss to his temple. It had been a while, and maybe the long since rejected and disused petname would get Reeve on the defensive instead of Tony.

Tony deserves a nickname of brat

Of all of the men to possibly walk in to his office on this lovely afternoon, Reeve had not expected it of Tony Stark. To see his friend enter gave him mixed feelings and he almost immediately started to rise, ready to make a drink for the man. But he respected the stay still and obeyed, offering Tony a smile.

Be calm, Reeve. Try not and offend the man. He was, after all, Reeve's best friend. Or so he thought.

"I am pretty sure I asked you to not call me that anymore. Please, just Reeve, Tony. Surely we've earned a first name basis."

Especially if his greetings involved a kiss on the temple.

"I see you've survived your expedition. I'm quite relieved."

He wouldn't admit to Poe that he'd fretted about the two of them and Jon, but he had.

"Did you?" Tony muttered as Reeve continued, as though he hadn't consciously been avoiding any petnames for some months already and couldn't imagine it would cause offence. He certainly didn't appear to take the request seriously, slouching then against Reeve's table on one hand to look over his work like a bored critic.

Reeve's relief had him turning his smile back on, radiant and even almost honest. "I just thought I'd drop back in for a minute. They weren't kidding, there's a whole other city over there, it might as well be a different planet. Sounds like you've been keeping busy, though," he said, and nodded back to the notes. "Oh--" he continued then abruptly, bringing up the bag to set on top of them, where it slouched gently. "I brought souvenirs." Of course Tony wasn't showing up without gifts to earn his passage. From the bag, he produced handfuls of fabric that he nudged against Reeve's shoulder to get him to sit up straight where Tony could drape the shirt down Reeve's front and consider the image. Maybe. He tossed that one to the floor to do the same with a second, this one stiffer and more like a jacket, that Tony wasn't sure whether it suited Reeve more or just seemed more like something he would pick for himself. Not that they were spoiled for choice; at least these garments had the correct number of armholes.

"I did, you kind brat," Reeve smiled at his friend. Of course with Tony here he was happy to push his work away for a while. The man was welcome entertainment and distraction. Except, well, he tried to catch at the threads of conversation Tony laid out, knowing they might just as easily be snatched away.

"If you or Jon took some data I can start drafting maps of the other city," Reeve offered. He trusted their measurements above any others. But then that thread was gone as Tony produced fabric. Reeve, bemused, sat up to let the man fuss.

But they weren't going to have this time all alone. No, his bedroom door opened and then closed. And a voice with a higher pitched Scottish brogue cut in.

"Well met there, Toneh!" Mini said as he moved to the table and then stopped to inspect a discarded shirt. "Oh no, bearing gifts are yah? What went wrong this time?"

"Mini?" Reeve chided, not even twisting from Tony's attention, "what have I told you about being polite?"

"That I should nae give Cobb tha bird. Nah much else."

Clearly something he had overlooked.

[He wanted to ask if Reeve was okay but that might somehow offend the guy. On the other hand if he didn't ask, it might seem as if he didn't care. So Noct hesitated before replying.]

Yes, that's what the offering of hair cuts was. A break.

It was Dark Nation who answers the door first, pawing at the door and barking as Reeve knocks on the door. As soon as Rufus opens the door she's out like a shot to greet him, back tentacle waving excitedly back and forth.

"D, sit, don't lunge." Rufus chides softly and the guard hound sits obediently though with a look that she doesn't like that. But allows Rufus to open the door for Reeve so he could come in. He had just gotten up from a nap so his hair is slightly disheveled and he's wearing a simple button-up shirt and loose pants.

"Reeve, a pleasure as always."

"Did you miss me while I was underground?" Reeve asked as he offered out the darkened cane. "Nice to see you've settled in. Cobb did good work on the house."

Rufus normally would have put more effort into his appearance with anyone else but Reeve was different, even if he most likely has never seen him in this state.

"I don't know how I survived without you being gone so long," he laughs, clearly not serious as his eyes fall on the cane, taking it when it's offererd to him. "That looks a great deal more acceptable. And yes, the house is quite nice. A step or two above the hotel."

Beck offered a smile and a small wave.

"Hey," he greeted with a nod, "Not sure we've ever properly gotten to-" he gestured between them and gave a good natured laugh. "I'm uh- Quentin Beck. Was hoping to take you up on that offer of trim?"

Ah, an arrival. Reeve offered the man a nod and filed the name away.

"Reeve Tuesti, and," he gestured to the chair by the door, "let's start with you sitting."

"I think I can manage that," Beck tried to joke, making his way over to the chair. "So what inspired the uh-...salon? Just tired of seeing us all looking a mess, or you have a real knack for it?" he asked.
