To Temba or Not to Temba
WHO: Obi-Wan Kenobi and YOU
WHERE: Temba and Not-Temba
WHAT: Exploring and such!
WHEN: During the event
WARNINGS: None atm
[Train and Arrival]
While several piled onto the first train out of Temba, Obi-Wan hung back for a bit. He had a lot to consider after all before he took off. That included making sure animals were taken care of. That things were worked out with Padme and the twins. As well as checking in with all of his padawans. There had to be at least a little bit of a plan and some organization before he left.
Eventually though, he did board a train with some supplies to take with him. The train is largely empty, and if he's alone he'll sit by himself and stare out a window until the train goes into the tunnel. But if there's someone there, he will meander over and gesture at a nearby seat. "May I?" Because one might as well pass the time with some conversation.
When they finally arrive though he will step off the train and either look for any familiar faces or go about exploring on his own.
[The Forest for the Trees]
Upon coming into the city, Obi-Wan can't help but be fascinated by all of the life that is thriving here. It may not be sentient life, but it is life nonetheless. The wild reclaiming much of the city with huge trees that one can't help but marvel at. The Jedi found admiring the tall plant life as he circled around one of the massive trunks. Then with seemingly little effort, the man makes a spectacular jump, one that should be impossible for an average human.
Jumping from limb to limb, the Jedi makes his way higher and higher into one of the tallest of the massive trees. Eventually going as high up as he could safely, taking a moment to look out at the view before settling onto a thick branch and admiring the animals that lived there. Doing his best not to bother them. It there that he takes the time to meditate, finding peace in the Force while surrounded by all of this life. A few curious animals approaching the serene Jedi with a few sitting near him or even perching on him as he stayed completely still. The wildlife seemingly unbothered by his presence with the calm aura be put out.
[Hangar]
After his meditations, Obi-Wan comes down from the tree and seeks out other explorers. At some point he manages to come across both Poe and the Mandalorian. The trio deciding to check out a building that he had seen from his vantage point in the tree, which suspiciously looked like a hangar.
"We shouldn't get our hopes up, but if there are ships in there, it could solve the problem of our currently over crowded vessels," Obi-Wan muses as they approach the building. That is if they would even be in good working order.
[Temba]
As fun as it was to have some place new to explore, eventually Obi-Wan had to go back, at least for a time. He had promised Padme that he would help take care of the twins, which meant taking a babysitting shift for a few days. At least until she came back or another babysitter came in to take his place.
During that time though he spent most of his time around the temple. But on occasion he did take the babies with him to the diner or out on walks in the city.

Hangar
"BB-8, you see anything?" he calls ahead to the droid, who's all ready scanning the building. There's a negative string of beeps in return, and Poe frowns, "What do you mean it's locked?"
no subject
"Locked? Sounds like we got some breaking in to do." Unless the droid can hack into it some how.
no subject
“Though this doesn’t look like any sort of lock I’m familiar with. Do either of you recognize it?”
no subject
The droid in question is attempting to scan the door with his sensors, and Poe shakes his head pressing his palm to the lock with a frown. "Nothing I've seen before," he confirms, and he waves BB-8 off as he pulls out his torch. "Gonna need something stronger than that buddy."
no subject
"I could try shooting it out." Din offers, because that usually works in his experience. "Or...I have my flamethrower." Din no.

Temba
"Hey!"
He waved at the sight of a familiar face. "I didn't know you had kids!"
no subject
Seeing Quill at work though, Obi-Wan decides to walk his way, dipping his head in greeting. "Not by blood, but yes. Their mother is off exploring the new city, so I'm taking care of them in her stead for the time being."
no subject
"Hey there, bright eyes. You having fun with Uncle Obi-Wan? Bet you're having lots more fun than I am fixing this stupid door."
no subject
Leia looks up at Quill, her lips moving into a little smile as she reaches out for his fingers.
"It seems she likes you."
Luke meanwhile stirred a little, yawned, and kept right on sleeping.

if a ginger falls in the woods...
Not that he's trying to be loud. No, Kyle's just human. He's used to walks in the woods, but this place is considerably more dense than he's used to. He's also only human, so he has to climb over any fallen trees, and push his way through bushes. He manages to slip on some damp leaves and almost hits the ground, so he stumbles over to a tree to rest a second.
He winds up leaning against the tree Obi-Wan is sitting in completely by accident, picking sticks out of his hair. "Maybe get a soil sample," he mutters to himself.
no subject
"Hello there," he calls down.
no subject
Kyle looks up, startled, then waves. "Hey, dude! Just me!" He hopes idly that the Jedi won't drop a heavy nut on him or something. It doesn't seem his style, but Kyle has upset him an awful lot, it seems.
no subject
But no, there's no need to worry about falling bombs of any sort. While it's true that Kyle has upset him a few times, he's not one to hold grudges. Usually. Unless you're Darth Maul. The Jedi will at least be civil to him.
"Are you having some difficulty down there?"

Stepping forward, he offers a kiss on her cheek, hoping to reassure her. “And it would be a shame for you to miss out on seeing the new city. It’s really quite a sight.”
no subject
The kiss on the cheek draws a slight flush to her cheeks. It's so intimate. And yet... She doesn't mind. They've grown so close that it almost feels natural. She gives him a sheepish smile. "Thank you, Obi-Wan. I don't doubt you at all. I'm just nervous. Is that strange?"
no subject
"Not at all," he says comfortingly. "You're a new parent. I'm certain I would feel the same were I in your shoes." And in some ways he was. He worried over the twins at times himself.
"I know its hard, particularly since we can't communicate between there and here. But I promise you they will be just as happy and healthy when you return as they are now."

Wrap this up?

But they seem to be safe enough, up in the canopy.
"It feels good up here," he says out loud, radiating satisfaction, as they settle onto a branch to take a breather.
no subject
It was times like these they Obi-Wan felt most alive. The thrill swelling in him still as they alighted on a branch that overlooked the city.
“Yes it does. It’s a nice change from Temba.”
no subject
"Dabble's gonna sniff and rub her face all over my cloak when I'm back at the temple," Ezra mutters, before he focuses a little more on the creature who had come to say hello.

trees!
But—well. Then she spotted the Jedi—Master Kenobi—perched stock still on a branch, and stopped to wonder, not for the first time, if all Jedi are so strange or she just keeps happening to meet the strangest ones. If there's one thing she's learned from Cal and Cere, though, it's that he's probably already plenty aware that she's there, even in meditation, and since this seems like as good a time as any to be aware of each other, she just settles down on another branch a few meters away but slightly higher.
She observes him quietly, one leg crossed over the other and feet dangling over open air, cautious but curious. After all, Cal and Ezra have already told her a little about Master Kenobi, though Ezra's description came off a little more like a warning. But he's important to Cal, so... maybe it's about time they meet.

So when Merrin comes to rest on a branch in view of him, the Jedi eventually opens his eyes to look at her.
“You’re a Nightsister,” he says matter-of-factly. Having encountered many of them over the past few years, and so he recognizes that much instantly. He also knows to be cautious, and thus is on his guard now as he remains where he sits.
no subject
"You know of my people," she says thoughtfully. He hasn't moved at all, which is just fine with her—so she doesn't move from her spot either, only shifting a little to fold her hands in her lap, her tone matter-of-fact. "You are Master Kenobi. Cal has spoken to me of you."
She inclines her head a little, acknowledging the point of connection between them. If she's being honest, if it wasn't for Cal, she would probably be content to avoid the Jedi completely, and not feel any love lost. But as it is... well, here she is. "My name is Merrin," she adds, her tone still even—but it's an olive branch, in her own way.
no subject
“I see. And yes, I’m very familiar with your people, Merrin. Including your Mother Talzin.”
He doesn’t say the name with any fondness, but neither any loathing. It was right to be wary of her kind, but they were not enemies of the Jedi. Not directly in any case. They usually kept to themselves on their own planet. With a few exceptions of course.
