Cohort Mingle

WHO: Hux, Leonard, Keith, Natasha, Loki
WHERE: Whatever ship we're on
WHAT: Enforced in-person (UGH) mingling
WHEN: Event
WARNINGS: None thus far.

Seems like a good idea to have a post for mingling while everyone's trapped on the ship!

[Hux was fuming as he stormed through the corridors of the ship. At first when he was brought onboard he thought that meant they were going to lift off and head on out. No he found out too quickly at they were shoved onto a ship with no way out and they weren't going anywhere. He had even been trying to rework the wiring himself.

He did how ever stop enough in time to note the other's attempt to leave the ship. He didn't hide the amusement on his face.]

Seems that magic can't even break us free. I was never one for magic.

Bones

1. Nothing like being stuck on board a ship with four total strangers, most of whom seem bad-tempered. Not that Bones is a walk in the park by any means, but he needs people like Jim around him to balance him out. When everyone's grumpy, it becomes a badly perpetuated cycle of sass and eye rolls.

After checking out the med bay, Bones heads to the kitchen to make coffee. He already misses the replicators and how quickly they're able to churn out things like coffee and food. After the coffee percolates and he pours himself a cup, Bones finds himself distracted by something else in the room.

For whatever reason, there's a statue of a chicken in the galley. Bones finds himself staring at it as he drinks his coffee, because what else better does he have to do anyway?

He only has one question: "Why?"

2. Honestly, the bunks aren't that bad, especially compared to the run-down hotel they've been staying in. He misses his CMO's suite on the Enterprise, but this will do. He had tried to claim a room quickly before he went off to inspect the med bay. When he comes back, he finds someone sitting on his bed.

"Uh. I was in here earlier."

Natasha didn't really intend to interact with anyone here, least of all Loki. Not out of animosity so much as irritation with the whole situation. She doesn't want to play along. She doesn't want to bond.

She has her limits though. And apparently it's writing on the walls.

"Really?"

The chicken isn't new. Not for Natasha, at least. She's seen it before. Being familiar with it and knowing why it's there are two completely different things.

Which leaves her with just one answer: "Why not?"

Keith looked up at the voice and then glanced at the bed.

"Oh... you claimed this one already?" He got up. "Sorry."

Keith

[personal profile] tempredmental 2019-10-10 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Keith was poking around at the pilot console on the bridge, grumbling and cursing a few choice words in alien languages at the lack of response. He'd learned enough Galra and Altean curse words in the past couple of years that he had a pretty decent repertoire.]

Quiznak.

[He slammed his fist down as yet another option didn't work.]

I used the stupid data point, what else do I need?

[personal profile] thatsjusttypical 2019-10-11 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
She's kind of right, isn't she? Why not? Bones shrugs.

"Why not any of this?" he asks, and takes a sip of the coffee. It's probably akin to battery acid, but you got used to bad coffee in space. "I honestly don't even know why I ask anymore."

He kind of realizes that it's a jerk move. It's not as if any of his things were in the room... not as if he had any things here. Thank God his tricorder was on his person when they'd all gotten sent to the ships.

"I mean... it's probably not that big of a deal. All of the bunks look the same except for the captain's one."
tempredmental: (Exhausted But Happy)

[personal profile] tempredmental 2019-10-11 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
Keith's expression darkened just a bit with the mention of the Captain's bunk, but he nodded all the same.

"Yeah, they do. But, it's still nice to know that someone else isn't sleeping in your bed, right?"

He'd been through the whole room claim thing a few times before already. He wasn't put out or anything. In fact, he started moving towards the door after picking up his black and red motorcycle jacket. Better hope Bones doesn't have an allergy to space wolves or snow leopards... There was a leopard cub that came out from under the bed, and there was a bit of bluish wolf fur on Keith's black t-shirt. There was also an empty knife sheath strapped to the back of his belt...
tempredmental: (I'm Judging You So Hard)

[personal profile] tempredmental 2019-10-11 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
[Keith glanced over his shoulder, studying Loki for a moment as if he was trying to judge something.]

Maybe. [He frowned.] This isn't my first time with this stuff, though.

[He crossed his arms, glaring back at the console for a moment as if it had done something wrong.]

You know anything about these ships?

No need to apologize. I knew what I was getting into. :)

[personal profile] tiedonastring 2019-10-11 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
They've used their own source of magic to whisk us here and onto these ships. I doubt that even your magic would be able to get us out at this point, regardless of how strong yours is.

There's an obvious point to locking us up on these ships. So I doubt they would make it easy to get out.

[Hux frowned more at the situation then at the other. It was easy to say this out loud then to actually admit it. His own failures frustrated him.]

Bones would understand. He misses his captain too.

Then a freaking leopard cub comes out from under the bed and Bones is taken aback. "What the hell? Is that yours?" He has a lot of questions, but mostly why is there a leopard cub on this ship?
tempredmental: (Sweet Smile)

[personal profile] tempredmental 2019-10-12 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
That was a part of it. There were other thing, too... like how it always ended up on his shoulders somehow...

"Huh?"

Tiny leopard cub is friendly, Bones! She comes over and rubs against the doctor's leg.

"Oh, yeah. That's Snow. I got her on some ice planet while I was in the Drift Fleet. She's harmless, and won't get any bigger."

"I'd assume because you expect things to make sense." Most people do, but bringing back the ships like this, it's layering their new captors absurdity on years of the Atroma's and the crews trying to work within it. "But it's not going to. Not really."

He's not so lucky; the smile catches her by surprise. She and Loki haven't been at odds in years, but they haven't ever been on what you'd call friendly terms. To the extent that Steve felt the need to speak to her on Loki's behalf.

Her surprise is short lived though at this point.

"If you're taking requests, I'm sure we can come up with something."
thatsjusttypical: (what?)

[personal profile] thatsjusttypical 2019-10-13 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
"It wasn't."

Honestly, did it matter much? All of the bunks were the same except for the captain's bunk, which Bones didn't feel right taking. From what he can tell of this man, he's kind of surprised that he didn't take that room.

The doctor shrugs. "Whatever. I didn't put anything in here. Not that I have anything to put in here anyway."

Natasha Romanoff | MCU

[personal profile] outstandingbalance 2019-10-13 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
There's something vaguely insulting about being on the Starduck instead of the Vaquish. She recognizes the ship, and maybe it wasn't so bad. Peggy had even invited her to join the crew once, back when it was the Starstruck, but it was an invitation she'd turned down.

She never even thought of herself as particularly invested in being on the Vaquish, even after she'd become the captain of it. She hadn't minded leaving. Still, if she has to come back, it seems like she might as well get her old ship as well.

On the other hand, maybe it's better this way.

The whole train of thought is mostly borne out of boredom, the fact there's not much else to do other than think and watch the feed for new messages. Natasha can be found in the kitchen doing the latter most of the time, usually either at the table or more often sitting on the counter and drinking some flavored beverage or other and keeping an eye on the network for updates.

[personal profile] thatsjusttypical 2019-10-13 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Bones freezes, mostly from shock. A cub can't do much damage compared to an adult leopard, but it's still surprising, to say the least.

"That's an interesting pet," he says, watching as the cub weaves between his legs like a house cat would. "So if you were with Drift Fleet, that means you've been here a while, doesn't it?"

He's heard people talking about being all together before they landed on this planet.
thatsjusttypical: (frustrated)

He gives a shrug, conceding her point. "You're probably right. Expecting logic at this point is too much to ask for some reason."

Bones rubs a hand down his face before turning back to Natasha. "I take it you've been here a while?"

"Not here exactly, but I've been around," Natasha says, sighing through her nose and casting a glance around the galley. "And I've been here before, kind of. The ship, before it was here."
