Seems like a good idea to have a post for mingling while everyone's trapped on the ship!

[Keith glanced over his shoulder, studying Loki for a moment as if he was trying to judge something.]

Maybe. [He frowned.] This isn't my first time with this stuff, though.

[He crossed his arms, glaring back at the console for a moment as if it had done something wrong.]

You know anything about these ships?

[complicatedliar]

Mmm. [Sure it isn't, sport. That's why you're doing so well.]

My people generally don't ships of this sort. [He flicks his fingers.] And I'm no warrior to go flitting around,.

[The response, regardless of the delivery, was all the confirmation Keith needed about Loki at the moment. He nodded quietly. This wasn't the Loki he had met in Drift Fleet.]

So... did you use a Data Point or do you not have a "post", yet?

[He was curious.

He'd also continue to poke at a few things on the console, but that was more absent-minded tinkering to see if he got anything to respond than any other reason.]

[There's no mistaking the look of disgust that washes over Loki's face.] I don't let other people into my brain.

It doesn't end well.

[Keith quirked an eyebrow at Loki's certainty.]

Sometimes, you don't have a choice.

[Spoken like someone with experience in the matter.

This definitely wasn't the Loki he knew if he was talking like that, because he wouldn't say something along those lines if he'd been through Calibrations or an augment change in the Fleet.]

[Very, very coolly:] I'm well aware.

Which is why it's a fool's act to do it a-purpose.

Though if others feel the need to do so... that's their watch. It isn't my head their risking.

[tempredmental]

[That did get Keith to look away from the console for a moment and study Loki again. He wondered for a moment just how Calibrations must have made the other one feel in the Fleet, then, if he was so adamantly against it like this. He knew he had power... but he wasn't sure exactly what.]

I'm curious... what would you do?

[Keith wasn't worried. It wasn't like he could dig around in Loki's head anyway. He didn't have that kind of ability.]

Defended myself from trespass when I was able.

Grit my teeth and bore it when I was not. [And he does not forget. He never forgets. But he makes himself shrug.] At times there is little one can do when held prisoner and tormented by those with power.

Yeah. That's true.

[Keith frowned.]

I've come across that a lot.

Patience is the greatest weapon anyone has. Their suffering shall be greater for the waiting.

[Cue slightly startled look. Blink. Blink. Keith frowned just a little, but decided not to say what he was thinking.]

Right. Just be patient.

[He wasn't good at being patient, but he'd learned over the years. He took a breath... in through the nose, out through the mouth... something of a sigh to gain focus.]

At least we have real beds and decent supplies in here instead of like... a broken down hotel.

[ Loki's smiles. ] 'tis a learned skill. Easier for some than others.

[ Because he's heard that tone before. Often. From Thor. ]

Indeed. I've come to the conclusion that, as prisons go, it could be far worse. It is thus far a more pleasant one than the last I was in, for example. Though it may only be a matter of time before our... hosts decide to start conducting medical experiments on us.

[Keith quirked an eyebrow.]

Maybe... maybe not. It's not guaranteed either way, to be honest.

Better to be pessimistic. One is less often disappointed that way.

Oh, I know. [His tone dropped a bit into a darker one.] Life seemed to really have it out for me for a while there.

[ An invitation to talk. He's got his listening face on. He also doesn't care on a personal level, but it's always more useful to have information on people you might later have to manipulate. ]

[Keith quirked an eyebrow, and then looked thoughtful for a moment before shaking his head.]

Long story.

[There was a figurative wall there. Keith didn't really hide his emotions, but he rarely shared the reasons behind them. Especially to people he didn't feel comfortable enough around. He also just didn't like dredging everything up by talking about it.]

Let's just say I understand and leave it at that.

[ Even not wanting to answer is its own sort of answer. ]

We might be trapped in here for quite some time.

[tempredmental]

[Indeed it is.]

Probably. It's like a prison inside a prison. Bad enough we're stuck on this weird planet, but then to get stuck inside the ships seems pretty excessive.

As prisons go, it could be far worse. [He's been in a lot of prisons, for various reasons.] Unless one is claustrophobic.

Not eager to help our captors then, I take it?

[tempredmental]

[Keith couldn't argue. He'd seen Galra prison ships.

He shook his head.]

Not exactly. I don't appreciate being kidnapped. If they wanted help, why couldn't they've just asked?

You know, I ask that question all the time when I'm refusing to bend to the whims of others, and I do get scolded for it.

[ He rolls his eyes. ]

[Keith scrunched his brows together for a moment in a slightly amused look.]

Yeah. I know that feeling, too.

[Getting scolded for asking the obvious questions that no one ever answered.]

There are more than a few here who have confused "goodness" with "being freely trampled."

And their goodness comes at such a small scale.
