This was too much. His anger was still roaring, his blood pounding in his ears, his thoughts running too fast for even him to catch up to. And Tommy just had to do what he could to calm down. He'd tried his island and stopped that when he's knocked into a tree with too much force. It fell over and he knew he was going to bruise badly from it. Then dove into the water to cool off.

Even that wasn't enough so he did the next best thing he could. He took off to find the only person he could talk to right now.

Which was showing up at Kyle's room at the hotel. Doesn't even bother to knock, or even open the door. Just vibes through.

"Kyle," he called, shocked by how raw his voice was from his distress.

Kyle kisses Tommy's cheek. "Just elbow me awake if you need me, okay? Even if you just can't sleep and want to talk about dumb shit."

He settles back with a sigh.

"You comfy?"

"I should... I should warn you. I have nightmares."

He's realizing he should warn Kyle of that. "YOu can kick me out if you need."

"That's okay." He snuggles in, completely unbothered.

"Dude, I'm not kicking you out unless you like... piss the bed."

"Ew so not," Tommy insisted. But at least Kyle won't hate him if he wakes up screaming in the night. Or flailing. And chances were that he would. A lot. Often.

And he'd feel bad about it too.

"Then you're fine." Kyle's eyes are already slipping shut. He fully expects to be elbowed rudely awake at some point, but it seems a small price to pay to be able to help Tommy. And, more selfishly, to have him in his arms.

Is it selfish when they both want it? Sure, Tommy had been avoiding it to take care of his brother, but it was still a thing they had wanted. For now, though, he tries to sleep, and per the usual, he was awake only an hour later, jerking away from Kyle in his distress and memories. He pushed Kyle away with a noise he tried to stifle and started pacing.

Kyle wakes up, disoriented only for a moment. He sits up, letting Tommy pace. "Hey dude," he says softly.

"You're okay. You're here, you're safe."

[doubled_speed]

Kyle. Tommy sighs and looks at him, shaking his head. "I get that. I get all of that. Memories suck."

"They do," he says softly, holding an arm out to Tommy. "You can come back to bed, if you want."

[doubled_speed]

Back to bed. Fuck. That doesn't even seem possible.

"You're not going to get sleep while I'm in that bed," Tommy sighed. "I can't do that to you."

[kyley_b]

"I don't give a shit," Kyle says mildly. His hair is fluffed up all over the place.

"C'mere, unless pacing helps."

He looks like hell, like Tommy feels. Tommy sighs and runs his fingers in his own hair.

"You're going to put up with a lot of bullshit while you're with me," he points out.

"I'm used to it," Kyle points out.

"Come sit fucking here, I wanna hug you."

[doubled_speed]

Well fine, if he's going to curse. Tommy moves to sit on the bed next to Kyle.

"You sure you're not a saint or some shit?"

[kyley_b]

"Can't be," Kyle says with a smirk. He wraps his arms around Tommy's shoulders and pulls him closer.

"You're gonna be okay," he says softly.

[doubled_speed]

"Why the fuck not?" Tommy asked. "No one ever tell you that you could be anything you wanted when you grew up?"

No, he's not. He's broken. It doesn't get better.

[kyley_b]

Kyle laughs softly. "You know what I learned, Tommy? If you start thinking of yourself as a saint, as a martyr, you're probably just being a self important dick."

He strokes Tommy's hair absently. "Besides, I'd make a lousy stained glass window. Imagine all the red glass they'd need."

[doubled_speed]

Oh no, tha'ts funny. Tommy started to snicker, leaning against Kyle.

"Really? Stained glass? That's why you're saying no?"

[kyley_b]

"Oh, of course," he replies, smiling. "Think of the windowmakers, Tommy."

[doubled_speed]

"You're denying them the pleasure of trying to catch that shade of red. There could have been glass making advancements."

That amused him.

[kyley_b]

"I also feel it's probably sacrilegious for everyone involves, so we'll just spare everybody the headache," he chuckles. Kyle pushes Tommy's hair back gently and kisses his temple.

"Although I'd make a pretty funny statue."

[doubled_speed]

Sacrilegious? Huh, Tommy hadn't thought of that. See, he's terrible at this religion shit.

"I think you'd be a perfectly fine statue."

[kyley_b]

Kyle giggles. "Just me, looking skyward all annoyed." He can picture it too easily. "You feel a little better?"

[doubled_speed]

"A little," Tommy confirms, and he moves to lay back down, pulling Kyle with him.

"I hate this. All of this. I hate this world. I hate not sleeping well."

He can't tire himself out properly to avoid the dreams.

He goes easily, keeping himself wrapped around Tommy as much as he can. "Yeah," he agrees. "This place bites. Is there anything that helps you sleep?"
