A good day to you all.

My name is Lark. I have not has the chance nor the pleasure of making the acquaintance of many of you here. I arrived shortly before the spell took hold, and as such have been woefully remiss in making introductions. What is more, I do not know who I may have met in that spell is truly here.

Therefore I have chosen to make myself visible on this 'communication device' in an attempt to meet, or perhaps reacquaint myself with, those who reside here.

[The woman pauses, contemplating for a moment, clearly getting her thoughts in order.]

I would also like to know if there are those present who work with thread-crafts. Sewing, weaving, spinning, knitting, making clothes. In my presence here it is my hope that I can use my skills and experience to make more thread, yarn, and cloth from the glownies, and perhaps anything similar to cotton or flax if we are to find those. However it is a lot of work for a single person to do, and I wished to see if there are others who might have the skills to assist me, or who might wish to learn them.

And, might I say from experience, if nothing else I would be happy to teach everyone how to spin thread. It is truly quite relaxing once you have the practice at it. But also because I think it would be valuable for me to have a small spool of thread made by every person willing to do so, that might be used for locating spells if people were to wander off into the wilds and go missing. Or, failing that, to have people carry around a spool of finished thread for a few days to charge with your native energy for the same purpose.

Live with a dedicated enough plant mage and you learn quite a bit about plant metaphors. I'm given more to thread and sewing ones.

Still, if I am understanding your words correctly, are you saying you trained in helping those who have gone through trauma?

Yes, that's exactly what I did. [she smiled a little, nodding] Bit like darning a sock. Fine work, delicate, takes a while and a keen eye, but there's a trick to it, and it can be done.

Thanks. I figure ... seems like a lot of these folks aren't that great at taking care of themselves when it comes to what's behind their ears and between their ribs. Bein' strong and healthy is one thing, but if your head's somewhere else it can cause just as many problems.

It's nice to see how many different skill sets folks have here, though. We're just as lucky to have someone thinkin' about clothing and other textiles, too.

It seems many people are quite capable of many things I could never have imagined in my world. But here, I am glad they can receive some assistance from me.

Ha, ain't that the truth. I still can't believe I'm working at the diner with someone who can break the sound barrier with his feet.

Oh - yeah, he runs that fast. It's incredible. I called him the other day and said I needed his help at the diner. I blinked, and there he was at the door.

ARe you certain he doesn't work invisibility spells? Does he smell of cinnamon?

[the last question made her chuckle] Only when I'm teachin' him how to make pies. And no, no spells. I didn't believe it either when I first met him. In the world where he's from, people are born with all kinds'a amazin' abilities like that. They call themselves 'mutants', but it's like having one particular skill you're really great at, just like anything else. It only ... applies to your body, as well as your mind, I guess.

Meanwhile, magic isn't possible where I'm from, either.

How intriguing. Magic is just such an integral part of what my world is that to fathom a wold without it remains strange to me. But learning other people is something I believe all should do.

Indeed. ... So, what sort of things are you thinking we'll make the thread out of? Glownie wool? I've run into some plants that are flexible enough that they might work like cotton, too.

Glownie wool for now. When we find more things, I will spin them too. But if you've found something like cotton or flax, I would love to inspect it.

I'll keep my eyes peeled, I go foraging pretty often. I'd offer to help with the spinning but the diner and the Civic Center keep me busy.
