A good day to you all.

My name is Lark. I have not has the chance nor the pleasure of making the acquaintance of many of you here. I arrived shortly before the spell took hold, and as such have been woefully remiss in making introductions. What is more, I do not know who I may have met in that spell is truly here.

Therefore I have chosen to make myself visible on this 'communication device' in an attempt to meet, or perhaps reacquaint myself with, those who reside here.

[The woman pauses, contemplating for a moment, clearly getting her thoughts in order.]

I would also like to know if there are those present who work with thread-crafts. Sewing, weaving, spinning, knitting, making clothes. In my presence here it is my hope that I can use my skills and experience to make more thread, yarn, and cloth from the glownies, and perhaps anything similar to cotton or flax if we are to find those. However it is a lot of work for a single person to do, and I wished to see if there are others who might have the skills to assist me, or who might wish to learn them.

And, might I say from experience, if nothing else I would be happy to teach everyone how to spin thread. It is truly quite relaxing once you have the practice at it. But also because I think it would be valuable for me to have a small spool of thread made by every person willing to do so, that might be used for locating spells if people were to wander off into the wilds and go missing. Or, failing that, to have people carry around a spool of finished thread for a few days to charge with your native energy for the same purpose.

[It is impolite to stare. And yet there Lark is anyway, staring in shock. His face? He's... living metal?]

Ah, it's fine. Given your surprise over cars and lights I guess it's no surprise if robots are up there on the list.

[Robot. A very strange term that has Lark looking at him like she wants to ask. But she doesn't.]

You said you'd teach me how to make the room brighter.

[deal_me_in]

[He snaps his fingers.]

Rrrright.

[Glancing beside the door, he perks and then indicates the panel on the wall. He holds a finger up, grinning at Lark as reaches over to tap at it.]

[She looks to the panel and then the lights come on, and Lark flinches. It's suddenly so bright. She looks around, twirling in the light, clearly captivated.]

So much better than candle or fire light. So wondrous. A mage globe but any can use it without great cost. What a wonder.

Like magic, right? The whole city's wired to a main power plant.

[He taps it again to turn the light out.]

Comes in real handy.

[Lark just smiles as the light goes out.]

Back home, mages work to make mage lights, they are globes, usually crystal, infused with magic to bring light. They take quite a bit of energy to make, and thus are not reasonable for a mage such as myself to create in any volume.

Ooh! That sounds pretty nifty. How do they turn off? Or are they like a one time thing that has to be recharged?

[He supposes he can see how that'd get tiring to make.]

Shall we head on to the furniture store? We can talk on the way.

Well, over time a spell will deplete and one will need to acquire a new one. It's usually a long period, though, based on the purity of the crystal.

[Lark is a very cautious mage. When possible, she prefers not to use her magic.]

Yes, that would be lovely. Thank you.

[Well of course he'd be interested in shiny things.

Giving Lark a nod, Cayde steps back out with a sweeping gesture for her to follow.]

Come along then, milady- right this way.

[Lark folds her hands before her, letting her long sleeves cover her hands.]

I am glad to follow where you might lead. I expect you shall not lead me to danger.

Not unless you're looking for some excitement, of course.

[The Exo beams, turning to head back down and out of the hotel. At least the trip isn't too long a walk, especially if you simply cut right across towards the city's nearest edge.]

The big one on the right, see it? That's where we're headed. One on the left is fun to poke around too- has more things than furniture.

I have found that random excitement is not the thing I often set out to do.

[She trails along after him, quite pleased for this little trip.]

More things such as what? I wonder if they had carders....

No? Well, if it's random then you wouldn't know until it happens anyway. Oop, watch your step here- road's uneven.

[He's careful not to get too far ahead, pointing out the worst parts of the route they're taking, still overgrown in some parts, broken and strewn with uncleared rubble in others, although not too much.]

Not sure about carders. There's...some clothes I think? Knick-knacks, a lot of it is weird Agrii stuff so it's your best guess as to what they might be for. There's dishware and stuff too.

[Oh yes, it is absolutely uneven there. Lark more hops over the the spot than steps over it. She's rather quick of foot, so it's easy for her, especially sans the heels.]

Clothes? If people have not been here in a while, how are clothes still surviving?

Well, I didn't say they were in perfect condition.

[Cayde grins over his shoulder.]

I also suspect it might be due to whatever material they've used for it. Not that I'm an expert in that sort of thing.

Well, I must definitely see these items, so that I can look them over.

[Perhaps she can learn something from them.]

Probably the best way to do it. Oh, head's up? The Agrii have four arms and are pretty tall so their clothing is...interesting.

[It's not too long until they get to their destination. Cayde slips in, looking around before waving Lark onward, sweeping an arm out towards the first of many floors and their furniture treasures.]

So I guess the biggest problem is figuring where to start.

Four arms sounds lovely!

[Think about how one could spin AND card at the same time! That would be amazing, wouldn't it? And the weaving... Oh Lark could see practical reasons to have four arms and delighted at the thought of it. Though when they arrive he stares in shock and delight there.]

A bed. By all means, a bed. And a chair.

[Well if that isn't an unexpected response. Cayde looks at her with an amused grin. At least she'd get along with Eliksni.]

Bed! Oh, that'll be an easy one. Visit that section all the time- I can get there with my eyes closed!

[And then he goes tripping over something, although he manages to keep his feet under him, keeping up the momentum to bound ahead.]

-okay that didn't count, but anyway! It's over this way!

[There were things here that Lark didn't know how to deal with. The opens were to be immobilized by the strangeness or to try and find her own peace with it in whatever way she can. And this was what she had decided.

He does make the comment and Lark chuckles behind her hand when he catches his balance.]

I think I would rather you decide not to close your eyes. That may not go well.

Yeah, you're probably right. Some goof might've come in and rearranged things since the last time I came in.

[He still proves that he knows what he's talking about at least as indicated by the path he weaves his way through, sections of furniture grouped by whatever living arrangements the Agrii favored, and then further more specific groupings of them by type. Tables and chairs, which he promised they'd come back to, drawers and shelves.

And then the beds. The Exo spins on a heel once he reaches the edge of the beds on display, arms outstretched.]

Try not to get overwhelmed.

[Yes, it was definitely a situation where it was rearranged, right? But Lark smiles to herself in amusement at what he says. But she did follow obediently and moving through things was shocking and pleasing. Such lovely furniture, even if it was a touch too large.

But when he says 'don't get overwhelmed' he doesn't know how accurate he is. Because she looks at it and is.]

There are... there are so many different ones!

[Cayde laughs.]

I know, right?? Mind, some of them are dusty but I think between me and Echo we've managed to fix that problem here and there.

[He gestures for her to go ahead and have a closer look. Honestly he has no idea how people actually go about picking beds, but he's not sure if his idea of bouncing on them would fly.]

[Dusty? He fixed that? Lark steps forward to a smaller, more basic bed. Well, small for the Agrii.]

Where I come from, furniture is hand made. This is... There is so much.
