A good day to you all.
My name is Lark. I have not has the chance nor the pleasure of making the acquaintance of many of you here. I arrived shortly before the spell took hold, and as such have been woefully remiss in making introductions. What is more, I do not know who I may have met in that spell is truly here.
Therefore I have chosen to make myself visible on this 'communication device' in an attempt to meet, or perhaps reacquaint myself with, those who reside here.
[The woman pauses, contemplating for a moment, clearly getting her thoughts in order.]
I would also like to know if there are those present who work with thread-crafts. Sewing, weaving, spinning, knitting, making clothes. In my presence here it is my hope that I can use my skills and experience to make more thread, yarn, and cloth from the glownies, and perhaps anything similar to cotton or flax if we are to find those. However it is a lot of work for a single person to do, and I wished to see if there are others who might have the skills to assist me, or who might wish to learn them.
And, might I say from experience, if nothing else I would be happy to teach everyone how to spin thread. It is truly quite relaxing once you have the practice at it. But also because I think it would be valuable for me to have a small spool of thread made by every person willing to do so, that might be used for locating spells if people were to wander off into the wilds and go missing. Or, failing that, to have people carry around a spool of finished thread for a few days to charge with your native energy for the same purpose.

I'm used to thinking of a lot of what I can do with the Force as making connections.

In my world there are two major classes of magic. There is academic magic, which requires study and books and spell preparation. They are the most common form of magic, and only accessible to those with the gift and who can afford education. Then there are those like myself. I am an ambient mage. My magic manifests only through specific mediums. This can be someone who is a weather mage, controlling the weather and natural elements, or perhaps a smithmage, whose magic works through fire and metal. I've even known those whose magic manifested through dance. For me it is thread and weaving. Anything that is a fiber, anything that is or can be spun, any thread or cloth, I have some degree of power over. And I can work through creations of thread or the things used to make thread and cloth.
As for the mapping, it is magic calling like to like, and my own power flooding color into the creation.

Magic through dance. I mean, all the mediums you mentioned sound interesting, including yours, definitely, but that one, wow. I wish I could see it.

[Sandry was quite a good teacher.]

Magic can be shared by emotion. Dancing can invoke emotion quite well. Not to mention it is a pattern. Power comes in repetition of patterns.

My student is the one teaching him, she would know better than I. Though she is not here.
