Get away
WHO: Din Djarin, Grogu
WHERE: Somewhere around Temba
WHAT: Father/Son bonding
WHEN: While everybody else is at the therapy party
WARNINGS: Cuteness, idk will update if needed
It's been a busy few weeks since they returned from their 'vacation' to Coruscant. Between the houses and Temple projects, most days were spent clearing debris from buildings, or doing fixes to start the rebuilding.
Din didn't regret volunteering to help out. It gave him something to do, a purpose. Since there was no bounty hunting in the city, and worked as a distraction from the fact that he was stuck planet side with no way to get off. Unless the Agrii allowed it. One consequence of this, is Din and Grogu hadn't really gotten that much time together lately, besides to eat and sleep. Even if it was almost a routine from the way things were back home. Grogu probably spending time with the twins and their nurse bot, or just watching Din doing the clearing.
Then there'd been the town hall meeting they'd both attended. Where for the most part it went well, ideas thrown around, most of it supported. Even with tempers flaring at one point over implications and things being said. He'd pushed more into the work, using his frustration as energy for the rebuilding. When the invite over the comm for therapy time at the bar went out, however. He had another idea. He's never been a big social person, much less talking about feelings with other people. So the thought didn't thrill him. Instead, he'd put on his jetpack, and went to find Grogu
"Wanna take off, adi'ka?" And take off they did, quite literally. With an activation of the Rising Phoenix, they were headed skyward, up over the city. This was their brand of therapy.

He'd been sitting cross legged outside the building they were living in when Din found him. There was only one answer to the question: a very enthusiastic nod. Yes! Yes of course he wants to fly!
He grins and giggles as they soar through the air, held tight in his father's arm. He has nothing to fear. He knows Din would never let anything bad happen to him. He's happy as can be with the wind rushing through his ears, his Padawan braid flapping furiously.

But right now, it was just him and Grogu. The Rising Phoenix easily carrying them through the air. He still didn't know why the Agrii decided to have the jetpack show up in the Jedi temple. But it was good to have it once again. Din kept them up above even the tallest of the buildings in the city, and he tilts sideways as they make a turn around one of the towers. His one arm kept firm around Grogu, there's no way he'd drop him. Hearing the happy giggle from the kid makes Din smile under the helmet.
"Hang on." His voice in the vocoder loud enough to be heard over the wind. But that's the only warning, before he does a couple of loose wide barrel rolls.

He turns, looking up at him with a big smile. It's also good to feel that Din is happy.

This place was starting to feel more like home, than home did. Here they aren't hunted, don't have to look over their shoulders. They have people they can trust, and back them up if something happens. It's a good feeling to have.
But he isn't the only one in a better place since Coruscant. He tilted his helm to look back at Grogu. He didn't need to be a Jedi, to tell that Grogu had been feeling better, happier, too. The smile under the helmet turning fonder. Being just the two of them again, at the moment, is nice too.
"Having fun?" Maybe a dumb question, but at the moment he doesn't care.

He trills, beaming up at Din as he nods. Of course he's having fun! What kind of a stupid question is that?!

"Thought so." The trill making a genuine chuckle escape him. Getting away, and taking off had been the best idea. His grip tightened, as he did a couple of aerial loops, and then a quick controlled fall, , leaving more than enough room to swoop back up to altitude.

He laughed, raising his arms in a gleeful wave as they dip and dive and soar through the sky.
