WHO: Lauri-Ell and You
WHERE: All Around
WHAT: A Day In The Life of a Security Woman
WHEN: Mid April
WARNINGS: small possibility of a structural collapse and getting trapped under it.
1. Queen of Fitness | Civics Center Fitness Rooms
Dawn. Lauri-Ell returns from her patrol routine to the specific place she always to be found in the early morning. The former soldier had been taking care to restore the fitness focused areas of the Civics Center in the past months, and the space definitely showed it now. The time on Coruscant had been helpful in fitting her place better to her tastes. Now instead of worked stone weights for training, she had a few sets of heavy, plasticized dumbbells for people to work with. Nothing compared to the massive wooden log, almost three feet thick and five feet in diameter that she had worked into a shape meant for lifting the edge and flipping for core training, but they were useful anyway. And while there weren't workout machines, she had managed to weave ropes into grids for agility training, long ropes for resistance, and she'd even started the process of building an obstacle course. There were plenty of options for fitness.
The pinnacle of her creation, though, was a room she had taken over off to one side of the main space. The whole floor had been covered with sand hauled all the way from the beach, carefully run through a mesh sieve to keep the larger particles out of. The whole place had been worked down into a nice, relatively soft area for sparring, and there was even a few bags of sand hang from the ceiling for punching. Now if only she could figure out how to make proper mats instead for her sparring space.
Anyone entering would be met with Lauri-Ell there, smiling widely and waving at them.
"Welcome. Do you wish to work out? Spar? I would love to provide assistance."
Billy had said she should find something she wanted to do, wanted to be. And protecting others in every way she can come up with had won out.
2. A Glownie In Need Is A Glownie Indeed | Area of Pink 4
Part of life for Lauri-Ell had always been patrolling Temba. Part of it had come from the fact that, when she had arrived, she had her future Emperor and his Prince-Consort to protect. The rest of it came down to the fact that she was a genetically engineered soldier, and she really just didn't know what to do with herself if she wasn't walking patrols. Which was what she was doing, fully clad in her Accuser armor, the Universal Weapon in hand, and one of the Agrii Security Point guns hanging from a strap at her side. Surely she was kitted out for battle.
What she was not expecting was the distressed noise she heard while walking toward the hangar, or how the noise grew louder and more distressed noises buried under some rubble of the less stable buildings in the area. And that's when she realized what she was hearing.
"A glownie!" the woman gasped, shocked and moving toward the rubble to try and get to where the source was. "I will save you little beast!"
3. Exploring The Ghost of the Past | Pink 25 - Transport Station
Lauri-Ell loved plants, there was no denying that. There was beauty in the fragility of a flower, there was strength in the twisting of a vine, and there was wonder in the wash of green. But here, this place, it was wrong. Lauri-Ell's patrols often led her through this part of the city, eyes watching out for dangerous creatures encroaching in. Today, though, the silence and overgrowth was too much. Too like what she had seen in that New York City where her sister had hidden her during the war. Like the beautiful structure of glass and metal that housed plants where a Cotati had taken a captive little girl named Kit.
It was wrong here. It hurt her to see.
With a sigh Lauri-Ell moved further into the overgrowth, working her way through it. She wanted to see what this structure was, and the plants did not seem to want to let her through.
"I am not your enemy," she told the plants around her. "I wish merely to explore and see what this place was. What it could be. Please, i do not wish to damage you."
They weren't likely to listen.

Ophiuchus was more annoyed than her. It was rare Ghosts encountered technology they couldn't interface with.
"You should keep track and perhaps we can recreate a map of our own." That was Ikora's project for the moment. A more detailed map.
no subject
"I shall attempt," she agreed, not certain if Ikora meant her or the ghost.
no subject
"I wonder if this could be bought back online if the plants were cleared out," she wondered aloud as she studied the place. "It would be nice to move through the city easier."
And good for restoration efforts.
no subject
But the idea does have some merit, so she puts her hammer to her back, where her outfit shifts to wrap around it, holding it in place. And she wades in, hands empty, to start pulling at vines.
no subject
Once there's a gap big enough Ophiuchus darts through to scout ahead. "It's thick here! We should come back with a machete."
Ikora steps forward to help pull things apart. She doesn't have the same raw strength that Lauri-Ell does but she's stronger than an average human. She can help.
no subject
But she most definitely smiles in delight over what she's doing while she's doing it. Working with plants delights her, especially these ones allowed to be the way they were.
"You are very capable."
no subject
When the gap was big enough Ikora ducked under and then grunted as she held it up so that Lauri-Ell could squeeze through.
"There's some sort of really big flower up ahead," Ophiuchus warned, circling around them both. "I think it's a flower. It's really big and red. Looks like it would attract insects for pollination."
no subject
A wide, bright smile, just for you Ikora.
Then she reached out, gripping what Ikora has, lifting it further and easier before ducking under it and joining Ikora. Wait, a flower? Her eyes widened as she looked to Ophiuchus.
"Show me where?"
no subject
There were very specific powers a Guardian had. She would have shown her, demonstrated something but with the Light so distant she wouldn't. She needed to have her powers ready in case something attacked them here.
"Oh." Ophiuchus looked between her and Ikora then nodded. "Sure."
He slowly drifted ahead of them, his eye illuminating ahead of him. There were some smaller flowers but the big one he spotted was only a few feet ahead.
no subject
"Beautiful. I hope it is not deadly."
no subject
It looks somewhat similar to a corpse flower from Earth but the wrong shade and bigger. It seemed to be either the end of a collection of vines or the start of them.
Ikora kept her distance as he hovered around it. A ghost was immune to toxins but she very much wasn't. "It is quite large. And I'm not quite sure how it gets any help to pollinate or any sunlight here."
no subject
She approached slowly, weapon in hand in her possible defense if needed.
"There are small animals, they may assist."
no subject
The flower seemed simply to be a large flower. It did smell faintly of pine trees which was an interesting choice. Ikora wondered why it wouldn't be sweet to attract those creatures Lauri-Ell mentioned.
"Should we bring a sample back and see what the Agricultural collective thinks of it?" she asked as she drew a knife from inside her robes and gently lifted one of the petals of the flower.
no subject
That said, she doesn't necessarily believe that it was a good choice. The Kree were so... She wished she even had words for how it made her feel.
So she moved instead to look at the flower, putting her hammer down and squatting by it to smile down. It's beautiful, and she loves the scent of it too.
"I do not know why it smells so nice, but I like it," Lauri-Ell declared as she watched Ikora approach with it.
"Perhaps we should bring a whole flower. I could sustain it in a force field if you think that would be wise."
no subject
"I think it has a root system in the ground but the vines are part of it too. It seems really big." The ghost swung around and then went off along one of the vines. "I don't know how we'd get it out of here."
She gently reached out and touched one of the petals. It was strangely spongey and thick. It didn't burn or make her finger tingle. It seemed to be just a flower.
no subject
"It is likely they would be willing to look it over. I wonder if the datapoint has information on non cultivated plants."
She takes out her communicator and takes a picture as well.
"I suggest Thomas. He has been here longest I believe."
no subject
"Uh, I technically discovered it. I saw it first," Ophiuchus pointed out with a huff. He was very expressive for a being with no facial muscles. It was a matter of reading the spin of his fins and how far they hovered away from his main eye.
"What would you call it then?" She raised an eyebrow at her ghost. Ophiuchus bobbed for a moment, clearly thinking it over.
"Star bloom?" he suggested.
no subject
It is a good name, even if it doesn't make her think of the stars.
no subject
"You are named after a constellation, you aren't a constellation yourself," Ikora pointed out with amusement. Her ghost had a surprising poetic side when he was in the right mood. She knew he liked to go to Ghost Theater.
"But Star Bloom since you discovered it. I see." She rose to her feet. "I'll set up a time with Thomas to have him inspect this plant and see if it can be useful or moved."
no subject
"I would give you advice on how to, but it seems that I can never run into him. I fear my timing is unlucky."
In truth he's prone to fleeing her. But she doesn't know that. She rises as well and looks sad over leaving the flower. But she supposes they must move on.
"I will continue my exploration here. You are both quite welcome to join me."
no subject
"I would like to continue with you if you don't mind." Ikora didn't want to abandon her on her own. Even though she could clearly handle herself.
Still, no reason to leave her without backup.
no subject
Which was part of why she worked with the training center she was making.
"I would be glad for the company," the woman smiled and started on again. "I wish to see the status of whatever transportation system there is here, whether it be tracks or tubes or repulsor networks."
