WHO: Lauri-Ell and You
WHERE: All Around
WHAT: A Day In The Life of a Security Woman
WHEN: Mid April
WARNINGS: small possibility of a structural collapse and getting trapped under it.
1. Queen of Fitness | Civics Center Fitness Rooms
Dawn. Lauri-Ell returns from her patrol routine to the specific place she always to be found in the early morning. The former soldier had been taking care to restore the fitness focused areas of the Civics Center in the past months, and the space definitely showed it now. The time on Coruscant had been helpful in fitting her place better to her tastes. Now instead of worked stone weights for training, she had a few sets of heavy, plasticized dumbbells for people to work with. Nothing compared to the massive wooden log, almost three feet thick and five feet in diameter that she had worked into a shape meant for lifting the edge and flipping for core training, but they were useful anyway. And while there weren't workout machines, she had managed to weave ropes into grids for agility training, long ropes for resistance, and she'd even started the process of building an obstacle course. There were plenty of options for fitness.
The pinnacle of her creation, though, was a room she had taken over off to one side of the main space. The whole floor had been covered with sand hauled all the way from the beach, carefully run through a mesh sieve to keep the larger particles out of. The whole place had been worked down into a nice, relatively soft area for sparring, and there was even a few bags of sand hang from the ceiling for punching. Now if only she could figure out how to make proper mats instead for her sparring space.
Anyone entering would be met with Lauri-Ell there, smiling widely and waving at them.
"Welcome. Do you wish to work out? Spar? I would love to provide assistance."
Billy had said she should find something she wanted to do, wanted to be. And protecting others in every way she can come up with had won out.
2. A Glownie In Need Is A Glownie Indeed | Area of Pink 4
Part of life for Lauri-Ell had always been patrolling Temba. Part of it had come from the fact that, when she had arrived, she had her future Emperor and his Prince-Consort to protect. The rest of it came down to the fact that she was a genetically engineered soldier, and she really just didn't know what to do with herself if she wasn't walking patrols. Which was what she was doing, fully clad in her Accuser armor, the Universal Weapon in hand, and one of the Agrii Security Point guns hanging from a strap at her side. Surely she was kitted out for battle.
What she was not expecting was the distressed noise she heard while walking toward the hangar, or how the noise grew louder and more distressed noises buried under some rubble of the less stable buildings in the area. And that's when she realized what she was hearing.
"A glownie!" the woman gasped, shocked and moving toward the rubble to try and get to where the source was. "I will save you little beast!"
3. Exploring The Ghost of the Past | Pink 25 - Transport Station
Lauri-Ell loved plants, there was no denying that. There was beauty in the fragility of a flower, there was strength in the twisting of a vine, and there was wonder in the wash of green. But here, this place, it was wrong. Lauri-Ell's patrols often led her through this part of the city, eyes watching out for dangerous creatures encroaching in. Today, though, the silence and overgrowth was too much. Too like what she had seen in that New York City where her sister had hidden her during the war. Like the beautiful structure of glass and metal that housed plants where a Cotati had taken a captive little girl named Kit.
It was wrong here. It hurt her to see.
With a sigh Lauri-Ell moved further into the overgrowth, working her way through it. She wanted to see what this structure was, and the plants did not seem to want to let her through.
"I am not your enemy," she told the plants around her. "I wish merely to explore and see what this place was. What it could be. Please, i do not wish to damage you."
They weren't likely to listen.

"Huh. Well, that makes sense." You got to figure out a lot about people by the way they fought. He's sure Master Splinter had taught something along those lines, and style and personality were quite apparent in the differences between Raphael and his brothers.

"I will ask your understanding before we start," she said, stretching a little, to loosen her muscles. "I am unaware of how durable you are, or how fast. It is possible, perhaps likely, that you are fast enough to dodge what I might try and do to you. It is possible that you are not. In consideration of this I shall be, I think the phrase is, 'pulling my punches' at first. Just on force. I will still attempt to make contact. But a Kree can punch through thick concrete. It is an aspect of our different musculature and the gravity of my world. As I come to understand you better, I will act more aggressively. Is that acceptable to you from both of us?"
no subject
"I've taken hits from giant alien dinosaurs and my pal Slash, both who punch like buses and break concrete with a good stomp. Don't worry too much about me. -not to say I like getting hit," he decides to add, because tough as he is, getting hit by Triceratons or Slash hurts. "So yeah, if you wanna work out how much strength you feel comfortable using, that's fine."
no subject
"Ah good, I believe I should not harm you at full strength as easily as I would a human, and I will not be trying to tear you in half so that should be fine. I would still start with a gradual scaling up, as it is a proper way to work with another."
One never knows how a new planetary environment might alter their abilities, right? She smiles and slips into a ready stance, fists up before herself.
"Fist to fist? No holds or throws for now? I prefer to work up to wrestling."
no subject
"Iiii think I would get pretty upset if you tried tearing me in half though. Anyway, yeah, let's do this."
He hopped into an at-ready stance, mirroring Lauri-Ell's own. "Fists, feet- yeah, let's hold off on throws and grapples."
no subject
And that gives her pleasure. Most humans she would not begin to train with without assurances and working them to fitness. Lauri-Ell expected quite a bit of strength from raph and wanted to have fun with that. In fact, that was excitement in her eyes.
"You seem like you could do good throws. That your center of mass is good for it against me."
It's always easier to throw people larger than you, if you know how. And with that she moved forward, offering a few simple jabs at his head.

Instead he maneuvers to the side, just so that he's out of her direct line of attack and able to start swinging with a few of his own punches.
no subject
And the speed is proven in the dodge, and makes her smile. Just twitching aside, not retreating. GOod. Confident. Exciting. Her longer arms and legs means it is quite easier for her to take the tiniest step aside and put herself out of easy length of his arms while she shifts to punch at his chest. Better to see now what that could take, if he lets them land.

That's all the distance he allows as he digs his feet into the sand, angling himself forward again. It's a short distance and even more quickly crossed as Raphael proves turtles aren't all slow. He looks to swing high, feints and instead brings his other fist in from low and towards her torso.
no subject
"Yes," she says as she takes a step back. "More force than that."
no subject
"Sure thing," he says, pushing off to come at her again. This time it's a leap into a jump-kick. He's not expecting an easy hit, but it's better getting into some kind of a fighting rhythm by allowing for reaction than to just keep pounding out the same beat.
no subject
"You are very talented. You would be a good Kree."
no subject
Thus it's a pleasant surprise that Raphael finds Lauri-Ell's avoided his attack, and in mid-air, it's not easy to reverse your movements. He has to follow through, but by the time she's swinging her kick at him he's prepared for some kind of retaliation, his arms already raising to block even though he's still twisting around to face her. The combination of his off-balance stance and the force of her kick is enough to knock him off his feet, his shell skidding on the sand once he crashes to the floor. Teeth grit, he kicks his feet up over his head to flip himself over and right-side up.
"Thanks, I think?"
The moment he slows to a stop he dashes forward anew. This time he stays on the ground, intent on keeping his hits within close quarters as he leads with a straight punch, keeping his left hand curled and ready.
no subject
And with him close, she swings a hard blow toward his head.

He keeps on the defensive for a few more hits before he suddenly ducks to try getting around her, swinging a foot around to kick towards her side.
no subject
When he tucks behind her she's shocked. He moves so fast, so smooth, and she takes the kick to her side, falling back a step at the stronger blow. That was unexpected. And wonderful.
"Yes," she said, sounding slightly winded. "That was very good."

Plus he hadn't even put in enough force to damage anything internally, not primary or secondary organ systems. She laughs, backing up a step.
"Harder! I must be trained to be fit. I will protect this place."
no subject
"You're not the only one protecting this place and the people here," he reminds her as he swings.
no subject
"I'm glad," she laughed when she took another step back to try and sway back from the blow. It wasn't enough, and it strikes over her cheek, knocking her head aside.
Yes, that was good.
"I approve."
