A Search for Peace
WHO: Obi-Wan Kenobi and YOU
WHERE: Various locations around Temba
WHAT: Jedi doing Jedi things.
WHEN: During the V-Day Mini Event
WARNINGS: Grumpiness probably
Waking up on his bunk in the Twin Roses one morning came with a surprise. A random pink mothcat plushie having been left for him at the end of his bed with a little card. The Jedi is confused as he has no idea what this is even about, and hasn't yet seen one of these creatures to boot. Even so, he leaves the plush on his bed before going out to do his thing.
A breakfast of food paste stuff and then morning meditation. Except... that's when the confetti starts. Obi-Wan finding himself covered in glitter and confetti and disturbed by any confusion and chatter regarding the stuff in the ship. Where is it even coming from?! Dusting it off, only to get covered with more, the annoyed Jedi leaves the ship only to find that it's happening outside as well.
He is not feeling the love.
Trying to escape the glitter, which is futile, he also attempts to find a place to meditate in peace. He can be found in varying locations, usually initially appearing as a sparkly mound as sitting and being still gets him covered in the glittery stuff raining down on everyone. Though every time someone talks to him or disturbs him in some way, he ends up moving somewhere else.
Ultimately he ends up on top of Cayde's tower. How did he get up there?! It's a mystery. Either way, he's sitting up there, trying to get away from it all and calm his mind.
It's proving very difficult as this ridiculous glitter keeps falling.
Come meditate with him or bother him. The choice is yours.

“I imagine it’s going as well for me as it is you. This isn’t how I expected to spend my day.” The Jedi opening his eyes and motioning at the falling confetti. Some of the glittery stuff rolling off of him as he did so. He was starting to get used to it.
“You don’t have to call me that anymore, either.”

Although he laughed, it's more of a halfhearted effort. He's genuinely curious about that note. "What brought about the change?"

“Jon pointed out that my actual name was viewable on the network. So I decided it wasn’t worth the trouble in that case. And it seems I’m hardly in any danger of being discovered here.”
no subject
But the reason does answer the question, and his helmet tilts upward a few degrees. "Ah. Jon." It's spoken in a way that partially understands how the Archivist operates. "The man has a way with words, but he would be the one to notice that detail."
no subject
“Yes, he seems to be quite the observant type. A detail oriented individual, which is something I can respect.”
The Jedi himself realizes he should probably be paying more attention to such things.
“A good man, though there is certainly a darkness that surrounds him.”
no subject
"...You could say that," comes a tentative reply.

On one hand he seemed harmless enough and on the other the things he told him about himself were nothing short of horrific.

"...I caught a glimpse of whatever Jon was dealing with during a storm. He was being hassled by these entities he called Fears. I think he also said they were similar to evil gods or avatars attached to a particular kind of fear." He shook his head. "There was also a giant eye that blocked out the sky above him...and he said he was its personal avatar."
no subject
“He told me things about that as well.” So Echo can at least be reassured that he wasn’t saying something that he didn’t already know about. “Admittedly it’s a bit hard to fathom.”
no subject
"He spoke of it so plainly when I asked about them. It's like he knows what to expect. Feeding on peoples' fears is disturbing, but he made it sound like a normal occurrence."
no subject
It was a curious thing, and Obi-Wan wasn't sure what to make of it all. Though it was an admirable attitude to have towards something you couldn't change.

"He doesn't exactly come off as a threatening person. Far from it. If I didn't feel it coming from him, I might feel the same way. He was at least considerate enough to warn me of what he's capable of, and that is respectable in itself. Though I have to wonder if there is any risk of him... not being entirely control of himself. In which case, he could pose a significant threat."
no subject
The remaining bits of glitter rain down in the meantime. "Continue as is and keep a watchful eye, maybe?"
no subject
"Yes, I think that would be the best course of action. It's best to be aware just in case. In the event that sometime does happen."
Hopefully it wouldn't and they could all live peacefully. After all, they were all stuck here. Getting along was in everyone's best interest.

Jon was a good person, and he'd hate to have to deal with a 'just in case' scenario if it came down to it.
After another long pause, the clone's head tilted. "That aside and hopefully remaining a theoretical event, I feel I should apologize for interrupting. I won't take up any more of your time."
no subject
He gave the clone a reassuring look as he didn’t want the man to think he couldn’t approach him. But perhaps it was time to cut the conversation short. He was having difficulty finding focus with all of the interruptions. It was a good talk though, and he too hoped the subject remained theoretical.
