Waking up on his bunk in the Twin Roses one morning came with a surprise. A random pink mothcat plushie having been left for him at the end of his bed with a little card. The Jedi is confused as he has no idea what this is even about, and hasn't yet seen one of these creatures to boot. Even so, he leaves the plush on his bed before going out to do his thing.

A breakfast of food paste stuff and then morning meditation. Except... that's when the confetti starts. Obi-Wan finding himself covered in glitter and confetti and disturbed by any confusion and chatter regarding the stuff in the ship. Where is it even coming from?! Dusting it off, only to get covered with more, the annoyed Jedi leaves the ship only to find that it's happening outside as well.

He is not feeling the love.

Trying to escape the glitter, which is futile, he also attempts to find a place to meditate in peace. He can be found in varying locations, usually initially appearing as a sparkly mound as sitting and being still gets him covered in the glittery stuff raining down on everyone. Though every time someone talks to him or disturbs him in some way, he ends up moving somewhere else.

Ultimately he ends up on top of Cayde's tower. How did he get up there?! It's a mystery. Either way, he's sitting up there, trying to get away from it all and calm his mind.

It's proving very difficult as this ridiculous glitter keeps falling.

Come meditate with him or bother him. The choice is yours.

"I understand, on both counts." Obi-Wan has been on both positions. He hadn't been ready to be without Qui-Gon. Nor had he been ready to teach Anakin. Both having happened at the same time. It was one of the most difficult points in his life. Thus he can sympathize.

The question though draws an exasperated expression though as the Jedi looks at the sky and the shiny confetti that was still falling down on them. "I don't actually know, to be honest." He knows nothing about Valentine's Day, and this is certainly the strangest thing that's ever happened since he's arrived.

"I can only assume it's just another strange occurrence in this place. Which seems to happen from time to time. Fortunately, you managed to miss the giant spiders that appeared not too long ago."

"I dunno. That'd be familiar at least. We had giant spiders for neighbors where we were based for a while. We had to set up a subsonic sensor perimeter. Although Kanan did figure out how to not trip them into aggressive beyond it." There's that proud note in his voice again.

"So what happened with the spiders here? And the rain is....new?" he checks.

He can hear the fondness in the boy's voice, and that brought a smile to Obi-Wan's face. He remembers being that age after all, and he clearly had good memories with his master, just as he had. Every Padawan should have a relationship like that with their mentor, and he was glad Ezra did as well.

"Something, or someone, triggered a strange sound from that tower over there." He pointed in the direction of said building. "It caused most of the wildlife, and a few of the people here, to turn suddenly aggressive. I was able to use the Force to calm those I encountered, with the exception of the spiders. They were immune to any influence and were attacking us constantly during the evening hours. That went on for days. And... yes. The rain is new."

Ezra twists around to look towards the tower a little too fast and ends up wincing at another jolt of pain, but it's still better than it was.

"Doesn't surprise me that the spiders were the hardest to calm. I kind of have a knack for connecting with animals, but the spiders around our base - I really tried but it never quite worked. If you let go enough of fear and stayed really still in the Force they'd sort of forget about you. But if they're already aggressive, and you have to protect other people, that doesn't really work," he muses.

He looks back towards Master Kenobi. "How long have you been here?"

Hearing that brings another smile to Obi-Wan’s face. “Then we share a talent. I’m glad for it. My Padawan was terrible with animals.” Anakin had always connected better with technology. He and Obi-Wan were opposites in that regard. That thought was another barb at his heart. How did everything keep going back to Anakin?

The question about how long he had been there was a welcome distraction. It forced him to pause and think about it for a moment. “I would say at least two standard months? Perhaps longer. The cycles here are longer than what we are used to.”

He gives Master Kenobi a quick, warm smile back before he sobers a little.

"Can I ask your advice on how...cautious to be, then?"

“My advice is to be prepared for anything. As a Jedi should be. Especially considering we are on a strange world, supposedly for the entertainment of other beings.”

It still bothered him a great deal, but that’s the situation they were in.

“That being said, not much excitement has happened since I arrived aside from the spiders.”

"Be mindful of the world around you," Ezra replies with a nod, paraphrasing lessons from Kanan and Hera. And that's always good advice.

"What about admitting to abilities? Taking about personal details with the other people stuck here?"

The Jedi nods in approval. “Yes, exactly.” Kanan truly had taught Ezra well. It was very encouraging to see.

“I haven’t been using my true name here,” Obi-Wan admits. “So I understand your caution. However, most everyone is aware that there are Jedi here. I believe we are safe in that regard.”

"Oh. Then...I'll be careful, but not undercover level of secretive." He tilts his head at Master Kenobi. "What should I call you?"

“That would be wise.” Obi-Wan was doing much the same. It was taking him for him to come to trust those that were here. Those who were not Jedi at least.

At the question he then shook his head. “It no longer matters. Apparently my name has been visible on the network all along. So there is no reason to hide that any longer. You may call me Master Kenobi or Obi-Wan.”

"Alright." He can easily imagine that Master Kenobi had been wary of the communication device and the network, and hadn't made use of it enough to realize. But if there's information about them on it already, Ezra reasons he might as well introduce himself, sometime soon.

Right now, he's very tired. "I need to...find somewhere to sleep. And then figure out what I'm doing after that. Thank you again, for your help, Master Kenobi."

Ezra’s suspicions are right on the nose. Obi-Wan had hardly used the network at all since he arrived. Though as the boy admits to his plans, the Jedi felt for him. He sounded much like he did when he first arrived.

“Then I will give you the advice I was given on my first day.” Obi-Wan motions out towards the city.

“In that direction, not far from the fountain you first saw, there’s a hotel. Or you can sleep on one of the ships. Barring those options, you could do like I did and find the first hole that looks reasonably comfortable. Nothing is likely to bother you so long as you stay in the city.”

"I can probably make it to the hotel." He gives Master Kenobi one more grateful smile, and climbs to his feet to head off.

A nod and Obi-Wan rises as well, giving Ezra a polite bow as he gets ready to leave.

“Then may the Force be with you, Ezra. Our paths will cross again soon enough.”
