The Devil made it hard to see

WHO: Kaz Brekker and you
WHERE: All around Temba. just after Kaz shows up, also the Bloodsport
WHAT: Catch-all for Febuary
WHEN: month of Febuary
WARNINGS: Blanket warning that Kaz is a dick

Kaz wasn't very sanguine about Temba in general, but even less about the Agri and the watching they did. Just the idea of being watched all the time made his skin crawl. But he needed to know more about the city he'd been brought to, so he left where he'd been hiding out in the abandoned hotel and made his way across the city.

First, he went to the fountain. He traced the square it sat in the middle of and marked it on his mental map. Then he looked around to see the large and mostly transparent building, Kaz also mentally marking it on his map. From there he could see a blocky building next with what appeared to be a tower attached to it. Making a ba slow beeline for the tower, the rhythmic sound of Kaz's cane punctuated his steps in his trademark staccato beat.

The Bloodsport

Kaz has never seen a ship like this. And it was a ship, judging from the exterior, but it was certainly not meant to ride ocean waves like every other ship he'd seen in the Kirch harbor. The entrance seemed to unlock itself for him and the door opened as though inviting him in. Slowly, the staccato beat of his steps measured and thoughtful, he made his way inside. Kaz was cautious about observing everything that made up the ship, but he couldn't entirely suppress a little boy's feeling of awed excitement the further he went. There was no wood and the metal enclosed all of the ship with only a small transparent portion. The more he saw, the more he could tell some of the ships spaces were meant to house people.

The rhythmic sound catches Lauri-Ell as she is coming toward the center of town. There were things she was supposed to be doing, which included finishing up her daily jog. But that noise was not normal, and so she stops to look for the source. Which ultimately has her coming out from behind the corner of a building to catch sight of the other.

"Hello. You're new."

What an interesting sound. Lauri-Ell tilts her head to consider it, then continues on. Maybe humans just sound like that.

"Welcome then. You are lucky. It seems the cold is diminishing. And you did not arrive during the spider issue. It should be pleasant for a while."

"Oh, they couldn't be squashed underfoot. Not even mine."

And given the woman was almost six and a half feet tall... that was saying a bit of something. She held her hand up at her side showing a rather large creature, roughly the size of a wolf.

"They were rather large."

"Underground. The noise that was maddening them stopped," she answers, quiet cheerfully. "And I've seen larger beetles. This place is very interesting."

Interesting. Perhaps Lauri-Ell is strange. Probably actually.

No head injury. No madness. Just intrigue. This place is very different, and very unexpected. But it's very interesting, anyway.

"Many things. Not most hostile lifeforms do not seem to approach us often. It requires agitation."

Which of course they attempt to avoid.
