[Open Log] Get All Swole!
WHO: Lauri-Ell and You
WHERE: Civics Center (see Yellow 7 on the map)
WHAT: Fitness! Self-Defense! Contemplation of the Sky!
WHEN: January
WARNINGS: None
1. Do You Even Lift?
People had expressed interest, and so here Lauri-Ell was, continuing her self-appointed task of making sure the fitness areas of the training center was ready for learning. It had taken some time to find appropriate rocks to shape with her hammer to make into appropriate weights. Vines from the greenhouse were woven into jump ropes and ladder grids for agility training.
But really, the best part in her opinion was the simplest one. A large chunk of tree trunk. She'd brought it down with her hammer, broken up into a disk as wide as her shoulders, which she had rolled onto its side like a wheel before working the bark off of it. The thing wasn't fully smooth, definitely still rough enough to not just roll off on it's own, not to mention with hand-holds cut into the sides at regular intervals.
It was at this creation Lauri-Ell was at now, the disk flat on the ground, her fingers curled into the holds as she hauled it up onto its side before pushing it over. The noise of it crashing down was loud, but she didn't seem to mind. The point was working her muscles out.
2. Protection Matters
Her explorations of the civics center had found many things. In this case she had found the weirdest space that reminded her of her training days: a large, mostly empty room save for the seating around the edges. In truth it was a bit of a theater, but Lauri-Ell didn't see that. What she saw was a space to spar.
Lauri-Ell grinned as she moved into the room.
"I must turn you into a sparring space. I wonder how I'd pack sand. I don't think I can get a lower grav floor installed…"
3. Far From Home
Night. While Lauri-Ell had chosen a primary residence near to the residence of the Emperor and Prince-Consort, tonight had been a long one in the civics center, and her longing had driven her up. The ships could not give her the spread of stars she ached for. This, she decided would have to do tonight.
The woman looked up to the sky, the distant stars, and sighed.
"I miss the stars. It feels so strange, to be below them."

He walked in just in time to see Lauri-Ell push the disk over, feet feeling the vibration of it as his eyes widened, and he very nearly turned right back around and left.
"...I feel like I might live to regret this, but do you think you could help me get in shape, Lauri-Ell?"
no subject
"You will not regret this, William. I can assist you."
no subject
"You really pulled this all together quick, I'm impressed," he notes, looking around. "So, um- I'm not going to be anywhere near Kree level, obviously, I just...wanna make sure if I lose my powers again and something goes wrong I can maybe help?"
no subject
Logical, yes? She has made good use of the time.
But the concern of losing his powers 'again' gives Lauri-Ell a very sad look. He does not deserve that.
"We shall ensure you can protect yourself. I will do my best. I have started training others, but it seems you know basic fitness better."
no subject
He nods, looking down at himself. "A bit, yeah. Kinda been slacking in that arena, but-"
no subject
"I suppose hanging upside-down would be good for circulation?"
Slacking. No, he's better than most. Lauri-Ell guides Billy toward the edge of the room. "How is your stamina?"
no subject
"It's...okay?" he guesses, "Not great, but I can run for a while. Better with things like yoga or pilates."
no subject
"I've never heard of these things. Yoga. Pilates. Are they exercises?"
Ones she would love, yes. But for now, she gestures for him to start jogging.
"A warm up lap, get your muscles a bit loosened please."
no subject
He sighs a little before starting into a jog. At least Tommy's not around to remind him how slow he is.
no subject
"What does 'hanging out' entail?"
no subject
no subject
Which described a lot of things.
no subject
"Most of it is."
no subject
She keeps jogging, considering the other.
"What activities are fun to you?"
no subject
"Fun to me...ummmm, comics. I like reading comics. And playing video games. Some table top, which...probably means nothing to you like 90% of what I'm saying," he laughs, "Pretty much anything with Teddy. That's always when I have the most fun."
no subject
"I do not know what comics or video games are. So yes, I do believe you are correct. But it is good you like your husband."
no subject
no subject
Which makes her wonder just how much the leaders of the Skrull and Kree did on that litmus test.
"Well, at least I am not bad," Lauri-Ell says. "He was good to me."
no subject
"I don't...run a lot," he admits sheepishly, "Or jog..."

Come on, Billy, know this.
Still, she looks angry over the idea of bullies.

"I did not know I was agreeing to running," he bemoaned, picking up the pace again.
no subject
"If you wish to learn to fight and defend yourself, you must have stamina. Part of victory is having the energy to fight."
no subject
"I really should have skipped gym less, is what I'm learning."
no subject
"Gym class?"
Yes, he really should have. Keep running. "After your running, we shall do Jumping Crosses."
no subject
He considers a moment before concluding- "Jumping Jacks?"
no subject
"Tell me what you mean?"
no subject
"Like Jumping Crosses? Maybe? They sounded the same- uh- these-" He pauses and does a few half hearted jumping jacks to demonstrate.

Questions that Lauri-Ell asks aren't always the most easily answered.
