Greetings everyone. For those that I have not yet met, my name is Ben Kenobi and I am a recent arrival to this planet.

[The image is of one very calm and serene looking Jedi who is sitting cross legged in some random place around the city. He had been doing some meditating before deciding to officially make his presence known on the network for the first time.]

Now that I have settled in as well as one can, I have been considering the matter of these data points. I believe it would be useful for me use one. The question is which? That is what I’m hoping you might help me with. It seems to be an important decision.

So I am asking. Where is our community lacking? I wish to be of most use to everyone here. So I’m hoping you might give me feedback so that I can make a decision accordingly. How can I contribute best to our little society? Do we need medics? Pilots? Or something else? Please do let me know what you think.

We could definitely use more medics. Or agriculture...people? [He gives a flustered laugh.] I guess it depends what your background is? And you can always switch, so- if you aren't liking it, or we suddenly need more pilots, you're not tied down or anything.

I'm Billy, by the way. Nice to meet you.

It’s a pleasure to meet you as well Billy.

In fact, I was hoping to speak with you. I hear that you’re the resident medic?

Kind of by accident, but yeah, that's me. Do you have medical experience? We could definitely use more people, especially if you actually know what you're doing. I'm doing my best but-

[He gives a shy short of shrug.]

I have some healing abilities, though I’m afraid it was never my specialty. Aside from that I do know some basic first-aid.

Though that’s not all I wish to discuss with you, and I would rather do so privately.

That puts us at about the same level then.

Oh, yeah, no problem um, do you want me to make this private, or would you rather meet in person?

I believe in person would be best.

[He doesn’t yet trust this network, or that anyone couldn’t break into their conversation.]

Sure. Should I come to you? Did you have somewhere in mind?

Not particularly. I could meet you at the hospital.

Hospital works. I can put some tea on. Or coffee.

Tea would be wonderful, thank you.

[THEY HAVE TEA HERE THANK THE FORCE. If it wasn’t for Obi-Wan’s Jedi calm he might almost be giddy.]

It'll be ready when you get here.

[Make friends with Billy and you can have almost anything you might want from home.

There's no patients to look after at the moment, so Billy's doing his best to brush up on his learning, pouring over a medical book he only half understands with a frown. Even magicking up a dictionary doesn't help, looking between the two books with a furrowed brow.]

[Can’t really argue with that, though that’s not the reason Obi-Wan is hoping to make friends.

There is a soft knock when Obi-Wan arrives and announces his presence. The Jedi peeking around a corner before coming into full view. He takes note of the books the young man has with a soft smile.

Learning anything new? I don’t suppose those books have anything on brain surgery.

[Billy looks a bit sheepish, flashing a flash and shrugging a shoulder.]

Honestly, I've read this page 5 times, and I couldn't tell you.

[He pauses then-]

Wait, is what you- ? [He looks a little panicked, an expression he quickly tries to bury, but he is SO not ready for that.]

Uh- I can probably whip one up if it comes to it.

[That drew a little sigh from Obi-Wan, and he came over to sit down next to Billy.]

I admit, when I heard that there was a medic here I had hoped you would be a bit more well versed in such things.

[Clearly that wasn't the case, and while he's disappointed, he can't blame the kid. Clearly he's trying his best.]

Sounds like this will be a struggle for both of us.

[Or more like the blind leading the blind.]

[Billy offers an apologetic look, magicking up a steaming hot cup of tea to push across the table to him.]

Heh- yeah...they brought wrong generation I guess. Both my parents are doctors. Not brain surgeons, but-

Are you sick? Or is this just...theoretical?

[Obi-Wan looked on in amazement as a cup of tea just appeared out of nowhere at this young man's whim. The Jedi taking it as it was passed to him and carefully taking a sip?]

No, I'm not sick.

It's Echo. And I would prefer that you keep this to yourself.

[Billy hardly seems to notice, though when he does he looks a bit bashful. The tea seems to be perfectly normally. Hot but not too hot, a little milk and sugar.

His head tilts with concern, but he nods.]

Yeah, of course. What's wrong with him?

[Huh... well the tea is not bad at least. Obi-Wan sips at it again, still wondering how he did that but saving that for later.]

There's an organic implant in his head. One that could cause him to harm both me and Cal should it become accidentally activated.

...Wow. That's-...okay, um...

[Billy tries to think if there's anyone here who might be better suited to this.]

I might be able to magic it away, but...I've never done that with something that was in someone's head.

[Obi-Wan winced a little at the uncertainty in Billy's voice. He was starting to wonder if it was really a good idea to keep pursuing it.]

The idea is not to hurt him of course. If neither of us know what we're doing for certain, I'm a bit reluctant to go through with it. I had hoped you might have some experience and that we could get it done on the Agrii ship.

[Clearly the experience isn't there, and that was discouraging.]

Do you know how this thing gets activated? I could try and protect against that in the meantime. But um...yeah, my actual medical training definitely didn't cover brain surgery.

And I'd want to talk to Echo before trying that kind of magic on him.

Unfortunately, no. I was a bit busy with other things when they were activated to try to figure it out.

[Like trying to survive and save as many of his people as he could. The Jedi looking a bit dejected as he realizes they’re back to square one.]

So that is that then. Unless we can teach ourselves to do brain surgery or get a capable doctor we are out of luck.

[Billy wishes he was capable enough. Probably could actually wish himself capable enough, but that seems...terrifying. Worse than magicking it out.]

I mean...I could- [Billy gets up and fetches a piece of alien fruit from the counter that Tommy had given him earlier, and holds it up to demonstrate. After some muttering the pit of the fruit appears on the table with a flash of blue light, the fruit itself showing no exit point or damage.]

But...I dunno if I could do that to a person.

I’m sure you could.

[Obi-Wan said this wearily as he took a sip of tea, trying to hide his frustration and disappointment.]

But we are talking about a man’s brain. Not a piece of fruit. If you’re not confident, then I don’t want to put him at risk or you at risk for accidentally hurting him. That sort of guilt I would not wish on anyone.

[Obi-Wan frowned to himself. They had next to no options here.]

I don’t suppose you could make a book on brain surgery. It wouldn’t hurt anyone to read it.

Mm-

[Billy nodded easily. That at least he seemed confident about. He closed the heavy book he'd been reading, laying his hands on the cover and murmuring. Another flash of blue and the contents of the book were entirely different.]

Probably still going to need the dictionary.
