Lost Lion. Please Help?

This was certainly not the last place that Shiro remembered being. He had last remembered returning to Earth and ending up with his new robotic arm. As he stood there for a long moment, wracking his brain, there wasn't much more after that. Certainly, there wasn't enough he would have suddenly found himself here in a world that seemed far more dilapidated than the Garrison was with far fewer technologies.

The information that suddenly came to him was certainly helpful, but very disturbing to him. After all, what had most of his recent life been like other than some other being deciding he needed to be somewhere that he didn't consent to going?

Typical.

But Shiro was out in the town and exploring. Sure, he had the device and he did pause a few times to review it, specifically looking at the map more than anything else, but still, he'd rather see them for himself. After he had figured out where he was going, he could see if there was anything that he could assist with. If he was going to be here, might as well do something productive.

It was expected at some point that they needed to stop hugging since otherwise, they would never be able to go anywhere else, but a long hug was certainly not unwelcome so he let Lance decide when to back up.

"Has it? Time is so strange here, I guess. You were just there at home. I've been well. Just getting a new arm. You know, normal things like that."

And he showed Lance his floating arm.

He laughs a little, giving it a poke. Though Shiro got it a bit before the last time Lance remembers himself having been back home, they'd been rather busy, so he didn't often get a good look at it.

"It's definitely on the cool side," he comments. "And yeah... Time is definitely strange. I'm actually 21 now! Well, technically, I'm older, if you count the few stints I got taken back home... But if you just count the time being here, then yeah, 21. So no dad lectures about me drinking."

Lance does look a little physically older. After all, Shiro would have last seen him as an 18 year old. While there's not a huge difference, what with it only having been three years, it's still there.

It's surprising since it is not physically attached that it stays in place so well even being poked. It's still new to Shiro so he still getting used to the fact that it is basically free-floating in the air.

"Yeah, I think so too even if I'm still getting used to it." The explanation of age was very confusing. So he had been here... and been home?... and was here again?

But at the 'no dad lectures', he smirked slightly.

"Oh, I see why you specifically mentioned 21 now."

"I mean, it wasn't specifically about the drinking! Just letting you know! I mean, there's a bar here, so. Yeah. But it's not like I drink like a fish or anything. Aaaaaaaaaanyway," he rambles. "It's just me and Keith here from our world. Oh yeah, Kosmo and Kaltenecker too. We can help you find a good place to shack up close to us."

Shiro just let that part of the conversation drop. It had certainly seemed though that not being lectured about drinking had been pretty important there, but anyway.

"That would be appreciated. I don't actually mind the ship really. Not too bad. Both Kosmo and Kaltenecker? Quite a collection already."

"Your call, really! I'll show you soon, anyway. Though Keith and I are thinking of building a house soon... Not that it'll be easy, but, y'know. Seems about right, all things considered."

Another nod, and he smiles. "So yeah. I mean, I miss everyone from back home, but things aren't all bad here."

"Great. I'd like to see. Will make it easier to decide for myself. Are you now? That would be nice. Could have it exactly the way you want it rather than relying on what's already here."

Shiro nodded. "Yeah. It doesn't seem so bad... even if it is strange being here without the others."

"Pretty much. That way me and Keith can have a proper room for all the animals... Not that I bet most of 'em won't try to curl up in bed with us anwyay," he says, rolling his eyes. His smile remains fond, though.

"You do your best to focus on what you've gained instead of what you've lost. And dismal as this place might be sometimes, I wouldn't give up the last few years for the world."

Shiro couldn't help but laugh at the mental image of Kaltenecker trying to curl up in bed with them, but he continued with, "Yes, would be nice for them to have a place to stay."

"Oh? How so?"

"Definitely," he says with a nod. "Kaltenecker would still need her own barn or whatnot. We've actually got quite a few animals now, not just Kosmo! Keith also has a snow leopard kitty named Snow because he has absolutely no creativity, and I have an otter named Oliver. ...and a fish named Blue. Okay, maybe I have my creativity fails too."

There's a bit of a pause at that last question of Shiro's. Well, the matter was obviously going to come up at some point, but why not get the big news out of the way now? Lance's smile widens into a grin as he raises his left hand, showing off the ring on one of his fingers, beautiful and inlaid with a blue gemstone.

"It sounds like you too alone have quite a zoo going on. Though normally I don't think of cows being in a zoo." He wasn't going to say anything about creativity failing. He likely wouldn't have done much better.

Shiro looked as Lance showed him his hand, the ring quite obvious there. It was pretty clear what it meant. He smiled, looking back up at Lance. "You're married? Congrats."

Lance shakes his head. "Not yet, this is an engagement ring. We haven't set a date for the wedding or anything... There's not a rush exactly, even if I'm super excited for it. That, and things can get randomly a little crazy around here, so it won't be able to be anything that has a super long elaborate set-up."

There'd been some chatter between him and Keith of ideas of what to do, but nothing set in stone yet.

"You'll probably be asked to be a best man. Or officiant. Or both. Gonna be a harder decision for my person, though... If Veronica were here, I'd ask her to be like, my best woman...or if Biffy was here, he'd definitely be my best man," he says, voice dropping to a bit of a thoughtful mumble at the end.

"I see. Yeah, I've heard things can be weird here so I can understand that."

He smiled fondly. "I'd be honored to be your best man. Or officiant. Whichever you would like. Biffy? I don't think I've ever heard that name before."

"Biffy was someone I knew some time ago in this universe. Probably my best friend, aside from Keith. It's been a long time... I hope he's doing well back home."

Maybe they'll be lucky enough to meet again.

A nod, and he grins. "Well, as lucky as I'd be to have you as my best man, I don't think my fiancé would ever forgive me if I got to claim you for that role before he could."

"I hope that he is doing well too. I'm sure he was a good person." Any friend of Lance's was a friend of his, after all.

He laughed at that. "No, I don't think that he would. I think it is something you will have to discuss now that I'm here."

There's a slight pause at the last comment. "Wait, wait. You already figured out who he is?"

"Well, I suppose I just assumed. Especially when you said he wouldn't forgive you for claiming me first."

Who else could it possibly be if the person he was engaged to would care so much about Lance possibly claiming Shiro in the wedding party?

To that, Lance pouts.

"I wanted to totally be the one to drop the big news and have you be all surprised! Boooooooo," he says, sticking his tongue out like the ever so mature individual he is. "Though you're right, I guess I did make it pretty obvious..."

"Yeah, it does," Shiro said with a chuckle. "But you can still tell me and I'll act surprised."

"Okay, fine. Hey, Shiro! So it turns out the person I've been dating a few years and am engaged to is actually Keith!"

Yeah. Totally big news. Granted, even though he and Keith weren't hostile towards each other back home anymore, he supposes it might be surprising news? Maybe?

Since he had promised to be surprised, Shiro gave an overdramatic gasp at this. "This is totally new and shocking information!"

And then he couldn't help himself and chuckled again. "Congratulations, Lance."

Said overdramatic gasp is enough to elicit a laugh from Lance. Man, he's missed Shiro.

"Thanks, Shiro. It's been some road to get here, but...I couldn't be happier. He really is the one. I don't really have to sing his praises to you since you know how great a person he is. Sure, he's still a stubborn idiot sometimes, but he's my stubborn idiot now."

"I'm glad to hear that. I hope that you two are very happy together. I'll be happy to do something with your wedding. Just let me know."

"Aw, thanks." He beams up at him. It really does mean a lot-- Shiro's not only a guy Lance has looked up to for many, many years, but in Krolia's absence, someone he'd want to seek approval from when it came to marrying Keith.

"No problem at all. Keith is like my brother. I've known him for a long time. And you are like my brother as well. I want to see you guys happy."
