Lost Lion. Please Help?
WHO: Shiro and You!
WHERE: Around
WHAT: New Arrival Exploring
WHEN: Beginning of January
WARNINGS: None yet. Will update.
This was certainly not the last place that Shiro remembered being. He had last remembered returning to Earth and ending up with his new robotic arm. As he stood there for a long moment, wracking his brain, there wasn't much more after that. Certainly, there wasn't enough he would have suddenly found himself here in a world that seemed far more dilapidated than the Garrison was with far fewer technologies.
The information that suddenly came to him was certainly helpful, but very disturbing to him. After all, what had most of his recent life been like other than some other being deciding he needed to be somewhere that he didn't consent to going?
Typical.
But Shiro was out in the town and exploring. Sure, he had the device and he did pause a few times to review it, specifically looking at the map more than anything else, but still, he'd rather see them for himself. After he had figured out where he was going, he could see if there was anything that he could assist with. If he was going to be here, might as well do something productive.

Eyeing Shiro's arm again, Cayde arches a brow at the story behind it. "Wow, no kidding? That's...yeah, that's worse than the aliens I know who worship machines and dismember their own limbs in exchange for mechanical ones- I think. Had mine shot off once. Got better. From your friends though? Nice. Interesting design choice."
no subject
"... Can't say I've ever heard of anyone who worshipped machines and partially turned themselves into one. Some of the Galra soldiers did have limbs replaced, but no telling if that was by choice or by necessity."
He glanced down at his arm again. "Yeah, apparently that one had coding in it that allowed them to control my clone so he tried to kill my friend. He cut off the clone's arm which stopped it and-" And slightly amused scoff because this was where he was going to sound crazy. "My consciousness was transferred to his body from the lion I was trapped in."
no subject
The look the Exo gives Shiro with the further input about his arm is nothing short of confused. He waves a hand about. "Whoa, whoa, whoa- you can't just jump from clones to being stuck in a lion- where'd the lion even come in anyway??"
no subject
"So when I escaped from the Galra, I ended up back home on Earth. In an attempt to avoid those who wished to capture us, I and four others found a giant blue robotic lion underground. It took us through a wormhole and we ended up at an alien ship. The lions were made by a now nearly deceased race as defenders of the universe. Well, we took over as their pilots. I fly the black one."
That's where the lions came in.

Cayde nods as he soaks everything in. "So. Important question. But how does piloting a giant lion work?"
no subject
Yeah, it's a lot to take in and that's not even half the story Shiro feels like. "There's a cockpit in the head with controls. But the lion is also sentient as well so if it doesn't want you to pilot, it won't let you. It will pick the best for the tasks that it normally does. The one I piloted, the Black Lion, was the leader so the pilot had be one who'd be able to lead the other four."
no subject
He smiles lopsidedly at Shiro. "So you're the leader of the lion club, eh?"
no subject
He caught the joke and grinned back. "Yeah, I'm the leader. Not officially anymore, but the others will always refer to me even if I'm not piloting anymore."
no subject
Cayde chuckles, nodding then. "Ah, I see. Hey, it's a badge of honor. Means you've done something right, right?"
no subject
Shiro smiled. "Yeah. Being chosen by the lions certainly does mean something."
no subject
"Being a lion pilot sounds a lot more fun than being part of the Vanguard, that's for sure. But at least it sounds like whatever was going on, you all managed to do the job, see things through?"
no subject
"Yeah, we always managed to get through it. What's the Vanguard?"
no subject
"Hm? Oh, it's the main group heading protection over our city back home. Just three of us, one for each specialized group of Guardians. There's Hunters, Warlocks and Titans," he says, ticking off a finger for each named before laughing.
"I know, I hardly look like someone who should be left in charge of anything."
no subject
"Ah, I see. Which group were you part of if you don't mind me asking?"
He chuckled. "I'm sure there were some who said that about me before."
Well, there was a reason for that but he wasn't going to share that.
no subject
"Hunter Vanguards aren't appointed formally. None of us want the position because that means we won't be out in the field where we prefer to be," he says with a shrug.
no subject
There was one... sort of...
"Gotcha. That would make sense."
no subject
"Speaking of parties, this crate isn't getting any lighter." Cayde, that makes no sense. "I got a bar I've set up south of here if you ever need a place to hang out or somethin'. Still working my way around a menu but there are drinks and coffee because that seems like a must for a lotta people."
no subject
Different people had different ways of handling meetings. Serious was one... but it wasn't always the most fun.
"Oh, of course. I don't want to hold you up. I'll be sure to swing by at some point."
no subject
He readjusts his hold on the crate, giving Shiro a nod before he turns and starts to head on his way. "Oh yeah, you should've got some kinda tablet thing. You can use that to yell at people if you got a question or anything else that comes up," he adds as he looks over his shoulder, then gives the man a salute.
no subject
He smiled at the last part, replying before Cayde walked off. "I'll remember that. Thanks."
And with that, he wouldn't hold him up anymore, going back to exploring.
